Hello and Happy Friday!

And Happy Labor Day weekend! Do you guys have plans for the weekend?

I am hoping to head to downtown Matthews to check out Matthews Alive at some point this weekend. But we will see! Maybe I will see you there!

I only have two more summer-themed posts left for the season! This one and Monday's post. After that I will begin to lean more into fall looks. Although it will be interesting, because it will still be a bit warm for a while. So, we will kind of play it by ear I suppose.

This emerald set from Cider is one of those purchases that I am SO glad I decided to make!

I am still a little on the fence about Cider in general, but I will get to that in a minuet. However, this set was a definite hit!

The color is gorgeous! The wide leg trouser fit, is one that I have not worn typically. Mainly because I fear that wide legged pants/trousers would emphasize my short stature. I have since moved past that fear and felt pulled to try this look out.

It gives off some serious boss lady vibes! I feel so bold and powerful while wearing this set! And the best part? I can get several different looks by switching out the top or bottom!

(Check out my Styling Sets video for more ideas!)

So, I want to go back to my earlier comment about how I am still on the fence about Cider. If you saw my Cider Haul and Review video, I only ending up keeping one out of the five pieces I got. I mentioned in the video that their clothing tends to run very small and many of the items did not fit. Some were poorly made. BUT I said I would hold off on any kind of final judgement until I saw how their return/refund process went.

I will say that their return/refund process is very easy and pretty satisfactory. You do not even return the clothing. On their site they say to recycle it or donate it. They offer a next-day refund that becomes site credit. -which is what I opted to do and how I got this set. It is only a percentage of your refund as opposed to the whole thing. But you also have the option to wait a bit longer for the return to be processed and you get the full refund. (At least that is how I understood it.) It is the first time I have ever come across any kind of business that did not want the items back, and I would think that it would end up costing them more in the end, but I also could very well be missing something.  Cue the deep-in-though emoji! xD

So, basically, I still do not have a great answer for you about Cider. They are worth a shot, I suppose. I probably will not shop there very often, just because of the sizing running so small. That is just my personal opinion. If you find something on the site you like, I encourage you to try it out for yourself and form your own opinion.

I hope that was helpful!

Thank you so much for reading! Have a great day and a great weekend ahead!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope you all are well!

I wanted to start this week off by dipping into some more fall inspired looks! This dress is a great transition piece! I also really love how unique it is! It has some 80's vibes with a modern twist!
Picture

It is such a simple dress all in all but there are several small details that really make it stand out. The shoulder pads for one thing. I do not know that I have ever owned a piece with shoulder pads this pronounced. It kind of gives me 2008 Lady Gaga vibes! (Didn't she wear a few things with enormous shoulder pads?!)

I love the shape they give to the dress though; I think it is very sharp.

Also, the black trim of the dress! It a small, but very sophisticated design choice. I paired the strappy heels with the dress specifically to match the trim. I had not worn them in a while! It was nice to break them out again!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy this look!

I will see you on Wednesday! And good luck to students and teachers who are heading back to school today!

Have a great day! =D

Hey all! Happy Friday!

I hope you all are well!

I just have a quick post for you today. I am restyling another one of my favorite summer pieces, the ribbed body suit from Target. I also wanted to end the week on a comfortable note. It has been a busy week! Wednesday in particular I got so much done!

But now I am worn out and ready for the weekend! xD

If you saw my latest video on YouTube, you may already know that when I headed off to shoot this look, the location I initially wanted was already being used for some kind of event. So, I had to quickly rethink where to shoot.

The set of bleachers was a nice fall-back choice!
Picture
Picture
I really like how I can get a few different kinds of shots in with the bleachers. Sitting, standing, standing in front of the fenced side, walking down the stairs -there are a lot of different options! The only downside? My legs feel like Jello afterwards!

On to this look! As I mentioned earlier, I decided to restyle this ribbed, body suit from Target. It has been one of my favorite summer pieces, because it is so light weight! It really almost feels like I'm not wearing anything, with truth be told, was a little weird at first!

Today I threw on a graphic print, crop top over top. I just threw it on as a trial, to see if I liked the way it looked, I do!  I love the neutral theme of the overall look. It kind of flows perfectly with the comfortable theme!

Of course, I paired it with The Tote Bag! And some Target slides!

I got the slides on an impromptu trip to Target. I wanted to change out of the heels I'd been wearing. So, I found them and of course, they looked a bit ridiculous with the outfit I was wearing that particular night, but I have loved them ever since! They are so comfortable, and I think they pair perfectly with a comfy 'fit!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy! And have a safe, fun weekend ahead!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: Midi Skirt and Crop Top...

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

I did not have an 'Out and About' post to share today, so I decided to go with a tried and true 'Outfit of the Day' post!

When I took these pictures, it had to be one of the hottest days of the summer by far! I was literally dripping with sweat! I wanted to film a video too, but I became very self-conscious about the possibility of a sweat stain being visible on the skirt -that's how hot it was! So, I never got that video. When I go to restyle it in the future, I will get one though!
Picture
Picture
I love this look though! It is so bright and happy feeling! The different shades of pink (and lilac in the case of the crop) flow together so perfectly! And then I just happened to get lucky with the flowers in this particular location! It made for such a beautiful and perfect back ground!

The look itself gives me major 'Clueless' vibes! (Minus furry and/or sequined details!) It is a fun look to wear! It is hard not to feel happy while dressed head to toe in pink! The skirt is chic! It is a satin material and elevates most looks. The best part is that I can wear all year round! I am already looking forward to styling it for fall and winter! It will be a bright pop of color to illuminate some of those colder, dreary days.
Picture

The shoes are also pretty cool! I love how they come to a point! They are surprisingly very comfortable! The only thing I hate? That I got them so late in the summer! I will have to switch them in for boots and close-toed shoes soon!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy this post! Have a great day! =D

Simple Summer Style: Strapess Top, Distressed Jeans...

Hello all! Happy Monday!

This weekend wore me out! And the sad part is I don't have any good story or event to share! It was just a busy weekend at work. Also, my sleep schedule was off this weekend. I am hoping maybe I will get back to normal soon!

But it works out perfectly since this look is a more low-key, comfortable look!

Every piece used in this look are pieces I have had for a while now. You guys have seen the wide legged, distressed jeans several times now. This is one recent way I have style them. Here is one other!

They have easily become a beloved staple in my closet!

Paired with this strapless top from Target from YEARS ago, it gives it a summery twist!

I chose to pair the mini, green, crocodile printed bag with the look mainly because I just really love the green against the pink color combo.

Picture
Picture
I have another look planned for these jeans, but it is more of a fall-ish look. And for a change I am styling heels with them instead of my beloved converses!

I am about to start shooting fall looks and while I will probably sweat to death while doing so, I am very excited! Fall fashion is probably my favorite to style! :D

Thank you so much for reading! Have a great week ahead!

Summer Elegance: Floral Printed Dress, White Bag...

Hello and Happy Friday friends!

I hope you all are well! I cannot complain myself!

It has been a pretty easy week for me! Here's hoping the weekend goes well!

Everything has kind of calmed down for a little bit, but things are about to pick back up next month. In the meantime, I am enjoying this last bit of summer and trying to get all of these summer looks out before I start prepping looks for fall!
Picture
Picture
Today I am sharing a look with you that is from Express!

This dress is fun to wear! The print is right on brand for summer. In fact, many details of this dress are very summery. The slit, the bottom of the dress which is semi-sheer mesh, the side cut-outs, and even the sweetheart neckline. It's summery, it is sexy, and great for an elegant evening out!

The best part of this dress though is that it is comfortable! It has ruching on the side which flatters all body types in my opinion. And I do not feel sucked into this dress, more importantly!

I had/have a little trouble with it because of the length. I had to get it hemmed, which was a pretty penny since it has that slit that I love so much. But my friend at Vino's alteration came through again!

I will see you on Monday!

Out and About: at Beyonce! Renissance World Tour!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

I cannot believe I am even typing this post out! I'm still feel as though I'm on cloud 9 when I look at the pictures and videos I took!

Yes, I am talking about the Beyonce concert last Wednesday!

Charlotte was one of the stops on her Renaissance World Tour and I was lucky enough to be able to attend!
Picture
Picture
Picture
From start to finish it was just phenomenal! Even before the show began, the fashion was on point! And the energy was palpable! People excitedly chattered and speculated if Blue Ivy would come out, what songs Beyonce would sing, what would she open with, which albums were her best, and so on. Then, it happened!

The enormous stage flickered to life! The screams from the audience turned into excited chanting 'Beyonce!' Her image appeared on the screen, which turned the chanting into more cheering. Then, from a small opening in the stage, she emerged!

Beyonce is so insanely beautiful!

She is also insanely talented! She opened the show singing a very old song, 'Dangerously in Love' but it allowed her vocal range to be on full display. She sang a few other oldies but goodies, before a quick outfit change and then launching into her Renaissance discography.

When her deep, sultry voice said 'Welcome to the Renaissance!' I had chills all over!
Picture
Picture
From there it was non-stop dancing, outfit changes, visuals shows, and of course the two biggest challenges that take place at her shows; the 'Love on Top' challenge and the 'mute' challenge.

For those who don't know, the 'Love on Top' challenge began at a concert, where Beyonce seemed to end the song, but the audience took over singing and kept the song going, much to Beyonce's surprise. Now Beyonce purposely cuts the music and lets the audience take over and the crowd tries to sing it as loud as they can. The other challenge, the 'mute' challenge comes from her song 'Energy' where she has a line that says 'look around everybody on mute,' and upon saying the word 'mute' the whole stadium is supposed to be completely silent. Of course, most of the time it works for a split second and then people get too excited and begin to cheer and the song continues.

I thought we did really well on both of them! (Though I did find myself 'whooo-hooing' during the 'mute' challenge after a moment! Ooops!)
Picture
We were treated to a performance with Blue Ivy! Beyonce's oldest daughter! The crowd about lost it when she came out! She has been fun to watch. From her first performance where she was definitely stiffer and more focused to now where she lets loose and seems to be having a lot more fun!

And then the finale was just a real dream! Beyonce sat on a silver horse statue which was attached to cables and hovered out over the crowd. Silver confetti shot out behind her, making her appear as a literal angel! It was surreal!

I cried twice! When she first came out of course! And then again at the end! Beyonce said 'I want you to think about how you are feeling right now. Remember this moment. Where you are at. What you are wearing. What you are feeling." Those words sat with me all night. And the next day! They are still sitting with me!

At that moment I was feeling intense joy! Not just because I was seeing a woman I have looked up to for years, who's work ethic and humbleness has inspired me for years -yes that was monumental! But also because I was in awe of how much my life has completely changed in a year. A year ago, my drinking would have kept me from dancing my heart out at a concert, even a Beyonce concert!

But I have my life back now, and I have the chance to be present and fully invested in these incredible moments! And Beyonce, I will remember how I felt that night! You were absolutely fantastic and I am just in awe!

Playing with Lengths: Denim Skirt, Orange Button Down...

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Just a quick post for today. And a comfortable one as well!
Picture
Picture
Picture

Today's outfit of the day is one that is a very comfortable fit.

I have really been enjoying the longer, denim skirts that have been popping up everywhere! They are very chic! And a fantastic closet staple for fall/winter!

I finally found one that I like a lot, from Boohoo.com. The light denim really embraces the summer feel. I am also looking for a darker denim skirt as we approach fall.

Then I also paired this long button down with the skirt. I think it gives a very laid back feel to the look. The bright color also embraces summer.

Picture
And of course my Marc Jacobs tote bag, that I got off of Amazon! It has quickly become my favorite bag. It carries everything, which can be a good or bad thing. It can become very cluttered and heavy quickly, so I am trying to make it a point, every week, to clean it out and organize it.

I put some money into it, so I am keeping it in the best shape!

Thanks so much for reading! I will see you on Wednesday to tell you all about Beyonce!  =D

Dark Side of the Moon: Abstract Printed, Cutout Dress...

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am still riding high off the Beyonce concert on Wednesday! It was amazing! Surreal! A dream come true!

But I will share more about that later.

Today's post is another potential fall look!
Picture
Picture
The design of this dress is pretty simple, yet sexy! The form fitting dress plus the cut out at the top is alluring. And the abstract print is unique.

But the colors are what make it more fall like. I am usually big on brighter colors. But every now and then I like to bring it down a bit with darker hues. For today, I tried to keep it a little lighter since we are still in summer mode, with a distressed denim jacket and a white bag -both from Target.

But once we start rolling into cooler months, I am looking forward to styling it with boots, a leather jacket, or a peacoat!

Out and About: At the Comedy Zone!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

I have a fun post to share with you today! This past Saturday I had a much-needed girls' night out with some great ladies! Our first stop was dinner at Azteca, a Mexican restaurant in Matthews. They had some of the best guacamole and salsa that I have had in a long time!

I got a combination plate that was very tasty! Our waiter, Oscar was so kind! I was running a little behind, coming from work, and when I got there, he greeted me and said, 'welcome to the party, my friend!'

If you are celebrating a birthday, apparently Azteca is the place to go. Every time you turned around, they were bringing out drums and tambourines to sing 'Happy Birthday' to someone!

It was a very festive evening, even though none of us were celebrating a birthday, we clapped along and cheered on the other tables that were!

After dinner, we headed out to the main event. The Comedy Zone, to see one of the original Kings of Comedy, Mr. D.L. Hughley!

While we did have to wait in line for a while, it was worth it. We all got to chat and get to know each other better, which was nice, and thankfully it was not unbearably hot outside.

Inside the venue, we were told we were not allowed to record or take pictures during the show. So, the only picture I have from inside is actually from The Comedy Zone's IG. We were treated first to comedy from a comedian, James Dobson. He got some good laughs out of us!

D.L. Hughley killed it though!

To be honest, I knew who he was but I was not very familiar with his stand up before Saturday. That did not stop my eyes from watering and my sides from hurting from laughter during his set.

It was a late night, but it was worth it over all! I had such a blast hanging with the group of ladies! I am already looking forward to the next outing! Thanks everyone for a great time!

Thanks for reading and see you on Friday!
