Hello all! And Happy Friday!

One last post about my love for Shein.com! I mentioned in the last post that I had ordered four dresses from Shein. I kept two of the dresses and returned two. This is the other dress I decided to keep. I LOVE this dress so much! The design reminds me of a vintage Hollywood glamour; elegant, regal, effortless. The slit in the front adds just the right about of sexy.

My Shein Experience....

Happy Friday my friends!

And it is especially fun since we are looking forward to a three day weekend!

Today I'm taking a short break from my current closet purge project to share with you this beautiful number! You remember how last post I said that dress was my favorite maxi dress? Well this one is giving it a run for its' money! I once again ordered from one of my favorite sites, Shein.com. I ended  up getting four dresses, this being the first to arrive.

This is another great dress for summer! The colors are reminiscent of summer -they make me think of when the sun starts setting especially if you are some place like the beach! I LOVE the vertical stripes! They always say horizontal stripes can make you look shorter -I still wear them a lot anyway- but vertical stripes are lengthening. I think I do believe that. I felt like I could give Gisele  a run for her money -I'm definitely kidding!

The material is light-weight and airy, comfortable for the ridiculously hot summer that is before us. But the hands down best feature? It has pockets! I LOVE a dress with pockets! Who doesn't?!

On a separate note, I want to share with you why I love this site so much. There are many different reasons! First off, Shein.com has a great selection of products! Clothes, accessories, shoes, jewelry, you name it! AND for reasonable prices. Their products are made with good material -they are not cheaply made and do not fall apart after one or two wears. And 9 out of 10 times, the product is exactly as it looks online.

Of course it is an online store and that can be a bit of a gamble. Shein.com does a great job of eleminating that gamble. For starters they have a measurements chart and sizes that go with the different measurements, so you can make a more accurate purchase. But if all else fails, or if you just are not as into the pieces as you had hoped, returning is extremely easy!

What I love most though is their customer service. It is amazing. Every time I have had any questions or concerns I have been helped quickly and pleasantly. When I bought the four dresses it was more of an impulse buy. I have an account with Shein which I usually make my purchases on, because you can go and track your order and easily write reviews or -if needed- get a return label. Well, I didn't purchase on my account this time. So when I decided I wanted to send back two of the four dresses, I had trouble finding my orders and getting the return label. But they were so easy to contact and talk to. They were able to help me out in a matter of minuets!

I will always recommend this site! And I will be going back many more times in the future!

Thanks for reading! I have one other dress to show you from my Shein.com splurge! But I'll save it for next time! =)

Have a great weekend!

XOXO

My Favorite Maxi Dress...

Hello all!

I hope you are doing well!

Today I am continuing my project of going through my closet. Today, I'm sharing another keeper -my favorite maxi dress! I have worn this a few times to different events and I fall in love with it every time! I feel like I say that a lot, but its true!

This dress always rises to the occasion. Its fun, effortless, a perfect summery dress. I'm torn between what I love more, the design or the color/print. I love the cut out in the back! That detail, while subtle, adds such additional dimension to the dress. A fun surprise you may not see coming. The only thing I dislike about it is, it makes it very hard to wear a bra with it. Some people can go without a bra and its no big deal. For me, its more of a big deal >D. I have tried multiple different things to avoid a bra strap showing. The best I could find was the backless bras that you basically tape onto you. They worked... okay. They served their purpose when I needed them. Thankfully the few times I have used them it was for shorter events.

If anyone has any other suggestions of what I could use instead, please let me know!

I was also drawn to was the color/print. The white and blue print against the brown is versatile! They mesh perfectly together and also create a great summer look. Whether you dress it up for a night out or down for a casual day date, or errands. There are so many possibilities for how to wear this!

This dress will definitely be sticking around for a while longer!

Reinventing Classic Pieces...

Happy Friday my friends!

So, I decided after my last post that I was going to begin a project where I restyled everything in my closet. I would post about each piece and the things that didn't fit, or happened to be damaged, or even if I just did not care about them very much anymore, I would get rid of. Yes, it will definitely be a long project, but I really want to edit some of what I have in my closet. Of course, prior to deciding to begin this project, I had ordered four dresses online and just received them this week. So, I may have to spend a few posts sharing them with you, but we will see!

This is my first post of the project! This dress has been one of my favorites for a long time! It has seen me through several birthdays, fashion shows, and parties. I like to think of it as a little black dress with splashes of color. What I really love about it is how fitted it is. Once it on, its not going to move. Some strapless pieces I feel like I am constantly tugging at or pulling up. Not this one! This dress stays in place and even adds a little additional support in the chest area. Another thing I love about it, is there is a little bit of roughing on right side of it. It is a small, subtle detail but it gives it so much extra character in my opinion!

I've worn it several different ways. Simply just as a strapless dress with maybe a small necklace and I've worn it with a jean jacket over it for a more casual look. Today I decided to pair it with a statement necklace. I do like it, I'm not sure if it is my favorite look, but it certainly gives it a more powerful feel. It almost looks as thought the necklace is part  of the dress. I'm not sure how often I would wear it this way, but it is fun to play around and create these new looks with old pieces.

I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping this dress around for a bit longer!

Thank you for reading! Have a great weekend!

Breaking Out the Booties...

Hello and Happy Monday to you!

I hope all of the Moms out there had a great Mother's day! Ours was very nice, low key, but that is how we like it! My dad made some AMAZING steaks! It was a great night! I'm very thankful for my mom! =)

While the whole weekend was nice, we had some incredible rain that made getting blog pictures very tricky! But in between breaks of torrential downpours, I somehow managed to get a few in! For today's look, I broke out a pair of booties that I haven't worn in forever. Truth be told, they got pushed to the back of my closet and I had forgotten about them -I'm not proud of this!- but I was excited to find them again. I remember I got them back in October. They caught my eye right away because of the plaid pattern. It didn't take me long to think of several ways to wear them. How they got pushed to the back of my closet I have no idea, but finding them was joy!

Immediately I began trying to style them. This particular look was one of the first to pop into my head. And I have to say, I really loved the outcome! It has a tough/structured feel to it while the trench vest adds a bit of softness/color.

I feel certain you will be seeing these booties again soon!

Thank you so much for reading!

Happy Friday!

Today I am sharing some dramatic pieces with you!

This top, is one of my all time favorite pieces! I love how structured it is! It is well made and classic, and the high-low hem really makes it stand out!

For a more casual look I paired it with denim shorts. But I could not resist a dramatic statement necklace to really complete the look!

Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned for more styling!

Stepping Out in Color...

Hello and Happy Monday all!

With Spring in full swing, and the weather being so nice -well we had some pretty intense rainstorms this weekend- I just felt like stepping out in color today.

I turned to one of my trusty pieces, the hot pink, jumpsuit from Versona! I remember when I got it, it was for a fashion show I ended up attending last minuet. I had some alternative ideas in mind but I really wanted to go check out Versona and at least see if anything really got my attention. I had not been in the store very long, when my eyes fell upon this piece! I tried it and fell pretty much in love right away!

I have styled it with booties for an edgier look. and also with a trench vest and belt, for a softer yet very different look. Today, I am restyling it again, probably the most casual way yet. This denim jacket works so well with this jumpsuit, giving it a much more casual, spring-like feel. Date night? Absolutely! Throw on some sneakers and you have a great look for lunch dates, or running errands around town!

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did! Thank you for reading!

She Knew Her Genuine Worth...

Hey all!

Happy Friday!

I hope you have had a great week! For today's look I went a different route. Obviously strappy heels would make this look elegant and classy, but why go the obvious route? I was feeling particularly bad ass today, so I went with a more edgy look. It has a chic look all the same! I fell in love with it right away. And it perfectly fit my mood today!

The skirt is one I have had for a while now, and I love it so much! It suits my mood every time I wear it!

On a more personal note, sometimes I get really discouraged and have bad days. I sometimes feel like I'm failing but I have to keep reminding myself, I'm not! I'm pretty awesome actually. My good friend shared a personal poem with me that was so lovely! One line really spoke to me. That line is also the title of this blog. I'm not perfect for sure, but I like and am very okay with who I am.

Are you?

Thanks for reading!
