Hello and Happy Friday!

I am so excited with how pretty it has been the last few days! It finally feels like Spring may actually be here!

I went to an event last night that I cannot wait to share with you on Wednesday's post! It was an event celebrating and empowering women, it was a very, very good! I'll be sharing all about it with you coming up! And if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you can see some of it on my stories!

On to today's post, it is a pretty casual and somewhat borrowed from the boys!

I paired these slouchy boyfriend jeans with a cropped polo which I actually thought was from the guys' section of Target at first!

When I found it, it had been randomly misplaced on a rack and I really thought at first that it may be from another department. I really liked the style and the color blocking/the colors used  so I tried it on and never looked back!

This outfit was actually inspired by a look that I saw Rihanna and Hailey Beiber wear recently. Basically, they paired a polo with slouchy jeans. Ri Ri, of course, turned hers into a crop, and let her beautiful baby bump shine.

Thank you guys so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Enjoy this beautiful weather! =)

See you Monday!

Out and About: SEND Fashion Show!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Today's post is a continuation of my Saturday two weeks ago. It started out with the beauty blogger event at L'Occitane and then continued into the evening with the SEND Fashion Show!

The show was such an inspirational and uplifting way to spend the evening! I went in excited for a night of fashion fun and left teary-eyed but feeling so encouraged and hopeful!

The SEND Foundation is the Stroke, Epilepsy, and Disability Foundation and the proceeds from the show went towards the foundation.

Many of the models were VIPs and are people with disabilities but they have not let those disabilities slow them down a bit!

They all owned the runway -strutting down it with pride! Later on in the night we got to hear a little about each of their stories. What they have overcome and what their passions and aspirations are.

At the end of the night, the producer of the show, Tae McKenzie (who also claims the titles of model, activist, entrepreneur, and actress) handed out special pins to each model of a bee, explaining that bees were never meant to fly but they overcame the odds and fly anyway.

I do not think there was a dry eye in the house during that part of the show!

Meanwhile, before and after the show, there were many different vendors set up for attendees to browse.

My friend, Millie, of Bella Fior had a table set up immaculately. Her designs and her presentations are always such a treat!

There was homemade food to munch on afterwards and drinks for everyone.

One of the most fun things of the night was a vendor called Sisco, which featured a 360 camera! And the ladies of that company were SERIOUS hype ladies! They would cheer you on from the side as the camera panned around you!

It was truly such a moving night!

Tae McKenzie is such a joy! She is a huge inspiration to me! She is so very kind and humble and treats you as if you are her good friend! She brings out the best in so many people! Then seeing her go down the runway was a whole other kind of remarkable! She has such a presence!

Tae, thank you for such an incredible night! It was a pleasure seeing you and I hope our paths cross again soon!

Thank you guys, so much for reading!

See you on Friday! =D

A Two Way Styling Story...

3/19/2023

Hello friends! Happy Monday!

In my last post, I had planned one Spring-like look but then had to readjust the look to better suit the temps outside. I think in that post, I mentioned possibly doing a two-way styling post with the theme: what I was going to wear verses what I ended up wearing.

Well friends, this is that post!
Picture

Similarly, to Friday's post, I had planned on shooting another Spring-ish look featuring this striped Target dress, a denim jacket, and orange heels. But I held off when the cold spell came through.

Then while shooting looks during the cold spell last week, I came up with this warm and cozy look still featuring the striped Target dress.

But I held off on it too because I figured it would warm up soon and I would have all of this cold weather content and it would not line up.

So, this weekend I decided I would go ahead and do the idea of the two-way styling post!

It was cool enough in the morning that the bundled up look was perfect! I was not too hot. And then a little later on, the denim jacket and heels look was appropriate!

Not only that, but it also is a great way to get more wear out of your clothes all year round!

What do you think of these stylings? What are some ways that you have restyled old pieces?

I would love to hear all about it!

Thank you so much for reading and I will see you Wednesday!

Chic Spring: Shacket and All Black Look...

Hello and Happy Friday!

How are you guys?

Well, the Charlotte weather has struck again. We all thought winter was over and Spring had finally sprung. Buttttt, no! Here we are with another cold spurt!

For today's post I had planned on a similar look but it was FREEZING! I don't think it got out of the 40's! So, I had to alter the look a bit. I think for a future post, I may do a theme; what I was going to wear vs. what I ended up wearing!
Picture
Picture
But for today's look I had planned on just wearing this same look but minus the tights, booties, and belt. I was going to pair my chuck taylor's with it instead. As I mentioned, though, it was freezing! I barely made it through this shoot! Being in the shade combined with the wind blowing, I was shaking in between pictures!

I will say though, I do like how this look turned out. I feel like it ended up looking much more chic with the tights and booties!

The back pack bag was another nice touch! It added a casual, sophisticated touch to the look!

I hope you guys have a great weekend! Stay warm!

Thank you so much for reading!

See you on Monday!

Out and About: L'Occitane Beauty Blogger Event...

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

I have been so excited to share this post with you! This Saturday was packed full of fun, beauty, fashion, and friends! It started with a beauty blogger event at L'Occitane in South Park mall, hosted by my good friend and fellow blogger, Vikee aka Designer Diva!

It was an intimate gathering of fellow bloggers and influencers, there were nine of us total. We were treated to a morning of trying out and learning about some of their best skin care products, as well as learning about a new Micro Pro Analysis Tool that is about to launch at their store! As the store manager, Michelle, told us about different products, we sipped on mimosas (and mock mimosas, thank you Vikee!) and nibbled on cookies.

Upon arriving at the event, the first thing we did was to wash our hands, first with an exfoliating almond scrub called, Amande. And then we followed that up with an almond shower oil.

Both products felt so luxurious on the skin and left my hands feeling so soft all day long! It did not have any kind of greasy feeling afterwards the way many lotions/oils do, and the scent was not overpowering.

In fact, nothing in the store had a fragrance that was overpowering, which I really appreciated.

All of the products really concentrate on anti-aging properties from Corsica, the ever lasting flower.

This is the exfoliating almond scrub! It was so luxurious feeling to the skin!

One thing that I learned about L'Occitane during the event is that they are really into sustainability! That is so important! They have an initiative where you can bring any empty beauty product, regardless of the brand, and drop it off at their recycling station and recieve 10% off your purchase!

Additionally, the way they package their products allows for customers to purchase refillable pouches for their products as to cut down on waste!

This was the shower oil. It left my hands feeling so soft all day!

We were all given a goody bag filled with a few freebies including this oil, which I am loving!

I will be going back for this soon!

The Micro Pro Analysis Tool was main event!

It is a new device they are launching that helps determine what you should be looking for in your skin care journey.

It takes between five and fifteen minutes to do -at the event it was closer to five- and it can help pinpoint which products you should use to get the best results for your skin.

It was such a great time, I am so grateful to be able to attend. Huge thank you to L'Occitane for having us, to Michelle, and Robin for your kindness and sharing your knowledge with us, and last but not least, my girl, Vikee for hosting such a great event!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! And I hope you go check out L'Occitane and treat yourself some goodies! =)

See you on Friday! =)

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope you all are well! I had a great day on Saturday! I cannot wait to share it with you on my 'Out and About' post on Wednesday! It featured a beauty blogger event in the morning at L'Occitane in South Park Mall hosted by my friend and fellow blogger, Designer diva! And then later we were able to attend a fashion show together with a new friend as well!

We had such a good time! I cannot wait to share it with you!

For today's styling I am actually doing a restyle!

I have styled this coral dress from Target a few times at least one other time! But today I am opting for a more casual look.

Since the temps dropped again -good old Charlotte weather for ya!- I bundled up a bit with an Office Ladies sweatshirt and some sneakers.

And then for a little bit of a fun twist, I decided to pair a coral bag with the dress!

I felt a little coral on coral was fun and unexpected, and since the look is so minimal, it really works well!

Thank you for reading! Thank you for being on this journey with me! I really feel like I've stepped out of my comfort zone the last few months and really found a new passion and drive for blogging and creating content and its truly exciting to be able to share it with you!

I will see you Wednesday!

Have a great week!

Blue Skies and Coral Bags:: Crisp Button Down, Denim Shorts...

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!

Just a quick post for today! I have been enjoying the spring-like weather so much lately! I felt like breaking out a pair of denim shorts and strappy sandals for today's post!

What I love about today's look is that it is so easy to pull off, yet it is very stylish and VERY comfortable!

Picture

A crisp button down is a must have for everyone! It is chic and versatile. I found this one on my trip to Versona the other day and while initially I was a bit unsure I have since fallen head over heels in love with it. I like that it is slightly oversized and the longer length of the cuff makes for an interesting feature!

I feel like the shirt upgrades the denim shorts as well.

For a bit of extra detail, I added a pop of color with the coral cross body bag and some strappy, lace up sandals.

Thank you, guys, so much for reading and for being on this journey with me!

I still have a lot to tell you about coming up, including some event that I'm attending this weekend! I'll have more on that next week and some videos for you as well!

Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe!

Windy Day Blues: Crop Top, Shorts, and Cobalt Blue...

Hello and Happy Monday!

You guys will have to excuse my hair today, it is a hot mess! I tried everything to tame it but between that and the wind the day I shot these pictures, this was final result. xD

I thought we were supposed to get a bad storm later that afternoon, so I set out to get these pictures beforehand. As I mentioned I fought the wind, I fought against the lighting -sometimes the sun would come out for a few moments and other times it would look like the sky was about to bottom out. BUT I think I fought and succeeded! I was pretty pleased with how these pictures came out!

As for today's look, there is a lot that I love about it! Starting with the paper bag shorts/crop top combination. It is a classy way to bring sexy and sophistication together!

My (arguably) favorite part of the look is this cobalt blue blazer -try saying that three times fast! It was another piece I picked up from Versona. I always feel like it is really hard to pass up a nice, well fitted blazer. That is typically because I tend to have a hard time finding them. So, when I do, I do not hesitate to scoop it up!

This color is electric as well! It was what drew me in initially. It ties the look together so perfectly.

Picture
And my other favorite part of the look is the strappy heels and striped bag combo!

I have styled these two pieces together several times over the years. I feel like they go together so well! The bold, thick straps of the heels and the bold stripes of the bag go together so well! Also, it is a little hard to tell but it ties nicely with the crop top which is striped as well. In general, it adds a bit of fun to the look. It is a personal twist that I like to incorporate when styling a look.

Thank you, guys, so much for reading! I hope you enjoy this look!

I am wishing you all a wonderful week ahead! See you, Wednesday!

A Retro Kind of Spring: White Ruffle Dress, Fuchsia Booties...

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Also, Happy March! I cannot believe that we already are in March! Man, time flies! And this whole week has truly felt like the beginning of Spring! So, to commemorate the occasion I styled a fun spring-like look for today's post!
Picture
Picture
Earlier this week I shared a video where I went on a mini shopping spree. I had some gift cards and since it was cloudy out, I decided to spend them! I headed up to Versona where I found this look.

This dress is adorable! I fell in love with it right away when I saw it! It is comfortable and I adore the ruffle details! It is such a simple design and yet so feminine and makes me feel powerful when I wore it. Especially when paired with these fuchsia booties! (On sale by the way!) From the color to the pointed toe, I just felt like I could claim any room I walked into.
Picture
And for an additional dash of femininity, I styled the rose-gold, beaded bag with the look. I felt it contrasted nicely against the fuchsia boots, while fitting the romantic theme. It was a splurge to be honest. I am a sucker for rose gold!

I felt this was such a solid look on its own that it did not need much in the way of accessories. In the future I may pair a light jacket over it for those crisp, cool mornings. A nice denim jacket with sandals could make for a great lunch date look!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this look! And I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
