An Unexpected Pairing for the Win!

Greetings friends!

Happy Monday! I am crazy or did I end the last post by saying I would see you guys on Wednesday? Hah! Please excuse me! My brain was still scrambled from vacation mode and struggling to get back to my normal schedule!

I still will see you on Wednesday with Part 1 of the my Utah vlog, I just forgot I would see you before then as well! xD

On to today's look! A look which saved my butt not too long ago!

Believe it or not, I was a bit on the fence about this look when I initially shot it. I liked the color combos, and it was definitely comfortable, but was it really my favorite look? Not so much. I just did not feel as excited about posting it as I do about other looks -if that makes sense.

But I always try to have a few extra looks on hand to use for posts in case for some reason, I am not able to take pictures for a bit. I.E. rain, work, vacation, brain fog, you get the idea.

That is the case to today. However, my feelings about this look have change a lot!

I had an event not too long ago and it was coming at the end of a loooooong workday. If I had not already committed to go, I would have definitely not gone! But I needed to think of something to wear. I was really aiming to NOT wear heals! Suddenly, this look popped into my head, and I put it on.

Do you know how many compliments I got?! From my bag to my sweater, to my shoes! I was overwhelmed with love for this look! Which for some reason hit me right in the feelings that night! So, now, I share it with you! I hope you like it as well!

Orange You Glad Today is Friday!?

Hey guys!

Orange you glad today is Friday!?

*crickets*

Okay, okay, I'll stop with the wildly corny jokes! But I am in a really good mood! I just got back from Utah, and went on a cleaning binge! I got my car cleaned, and then deep cleaned and organized my room.

I also created a few fun looks to shoot! Including some fall looks! That always gets me really excited!

Today's look I am sure you have probably seen in some of my reels if you follow me on IG.

I love how this look came out. When I got this orange set, I was a little on the fence about it. I really wanted to spruce up my closet, but it seemed a little too... bright? Oversized? Loud? You name it, I thought it.

But it quickly became one of my favorite pieces to style and I have gotten a variety of different looks with it! Including this fun number!

It's funny how I mentioned being afraid it was too bright, but I kind of leaned heavy into the color for this look. The denim plays a more stoic, anchor role that I styled around.

I think it is such a great summer fit. Much like the fit I posted a few weeks ago -that featured the top part of the orange set- this look really embodies the feel of summer. Bright and warm colors, playful, exciting!

You know what is kind of funny? I used to really admire the minimal style especially color wise. I liked the clean-cut look of the neutral colors. For a short period, I tried out that style trend. But at my core I am a color girlie. I gravitate towards colorful pieces and stylings! There is so much fun in it in my opinion!

Howdy from Utah!

I am having a fun time here, it is beautiful! And I have so much to show you when I get back!

But I wanted to share a quick post with you today!

This all-denim look is another that I like to refer to as a denim canvas! I mentioned that a few posts ago with the denim dress. It is a great base you can style however you like!

I brought bad the sparkly, green baddies to make the outfit pop! I also really like the statement necklace! I like the way it looks, but its honestly a little hard to wear as the coins flip and shift around a bit. I still like the look of it though, and I really like how it stands out with this look!

How would you style an all-denim look?

Vacation Mode: Orange, White, and Gold Accents...

Hello all!

When you guys read this, I will be on my way to Utah! Eeeeek!

What a week it has been leading up to the trip! Sick pups! Slow chargers! Panic attacks! Sleep studies!

It's been a doozy! BUT I think -hope- everything is good now. I feel like I am in a much better place mentally to leave and not be constantly worried about my pup or that my phone will die on me.

I also tried to cram a lot of content in this week to share with you, so I can post regularly while I'm away.

Today's look is a favorite of mine! It is a very casual fit' perfect for a get away! The orange really captures the essence of summer in my opinion. Paired with the relaxed fit of the jeans, it makes a great casual look.

I opted to elevate the look a bit with gold accents. Heels, accessories, and this gorgeous bag! I have had this bag for YEARS! Think 2013/14! And it has served me well! There was so much for love about this bag! The color and the gold/coin textured front, the crossbody design, and inside it had a really cool print!

Sadly though, this will be my last post with this bag. I think it is time to retire it. Mainly because it is beginning to chip badly! Especially on the back.

A Tulle Skirt is Always a Good Idea!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I'm feeling pretty excited this week -granted I usually am at the start of the week! I am feeling really inspired and I have a lot of ideas that I am ready to begin work on. And some of them are indoor projects too! So, I won't melt!

I also have a lot on my To-Do list before Friday when we leave for Utah! =D

Today's look is one that really significant to me, as it marks how far I have come with my confidence.

Two and definitely three years ago, I would have LOVED this skirt but felt way too self-conscious to actually wear it out and about -or at least not sober! I would have been far too in my head about it.

Also, the style climate we are in now is very more accepting of different styles! We are in a really fun time style-wise. Anything goes, really have fun with your clothing kind of time! And I am here for it!

This styling was my first inclination. I knew this cute crop top and tulle skirt would look super cute together. They really encompass happiness! Which is what I felt wearing it!

Dressing Up a Denim Dress...

Have you ever seen a dress that was cute albeit boring?

Well, some say boring, I say a blank canvas ready to be styled! That is exactly how I feel about this denim dress. I was with a friend of mine recently and we saw this dress in Target and I was drawn to it! She was not as crazy about it. That led to me pointing out everything we passed that would look cute with the dress.

As you can tell, I ended up leaving with the dress.

Everyone has their own styles and preferences and that is what makes fashion and styling so fun!

For me this dress, which could be seen as basic, has a great deal of potential styling wise. Today, I went a more casual route, with some red Addias, a printed scarf, and a straw bag. It is comfortable and will probably be a fit I take to Utah!

This printed scarf is actually my mom's. Much like that coin belt she has, I have loved this scarf for a while and borrow it often!

This look encompasses several of my favorite styling techniques. It uses print, pops of color, and comfort! (Not really a technique but bonus points!) My Aunt has lovingly been concerned about my feet in those green heels, so I promised I would take it easy with them for the next few posts! xD

Return of the Green Heels!

I hope you guys are not sick of these beauties yet!

They have made a secure space for themselves in my closet! I am having a great time finding different ways to style them, I have another way coming up soon!

But this is another fun way I styled them recently.

I went to see NF back in May and this was the fit that I wore to the concert. At the concert I went a little crazy on merch, no thanks to my sister! But she did make a good point, when is the next time I'll be at an NF concert!?

Ironically, I got this shirt off Amazon right before the concert. It made for the perfect fit! I personally do not ever wear heels to concerts, I want to be comfortable after all! So, the green heels were added for today's post. But I think they add a bit of fun to the look!

It also seemed like a great time to style by new Karl Lagerfeld bag! My aunt and cousin got it for me for my birthday, and I have fallen head over heels for it.

It a great size! Compact enough to be easily carried around all day without hurting your shoulders, but big enough to fit everything you'll need during the day.

Another perk of smaller bags, they don't seem to get as cluttered as some of my larger bags. I have a bad habit of letting stuff pile up in my larger bags, until I finally HAVE to clean it out.

A Color Story: Lilac and Coral...

Hello all!

Just a quick post for today!

Today I am playing around with colors! Specifically, lilac and orange/coral.

I love this color combo so much! It is a great summer combo! The orange/yellow knit top has become a fun piece to style. It can go from sporty, to chic with ease! It also makes for a nice sweater of sorts. And personally, I am a fan of the softness of the lilac-colored skirt against the orange/yellow knit. It is kind of soft piece mixed with a fun piece.

To add a bit more dimension to the look, I styled a coral bag I found at a thrift market a while back. I like the contrast against the orange tones in the knit top especially.
