Hi there friends! Happy Monday!

Today I am sharing with you my latest obsession -these sparkly, lime green heels! And I am giddy about it!

These heels are from Versona. And they caught my eye on the site first, but they were like $30-something online. I thought they were cute but, in my mind, I thought 'what would I do with lime green heels? Will I really wear them enough for it to be worth $30 something?' I passed.

Then a few days later I went into the store, for something else, but I saw them in person. Again, they were really cute! They were marked down to $24 then. But again, I passed.

Then a few more days later, just for shits and giggles, I got back online and saw they had been marked down to $10.

$10!!

I have never hit check out so quickly!

And I am so glad I did! They are easily my favorite pair of heels that I have gotten in a while!

And while they were cute online and on the display rack, they look fantastic on!  I was so impressed when I tried them on for the first time!

I could not wait to begin styling them!

I feel like this particular look is going to have mixed reactions. I personally really like it. It is a bit funky, but it is fun, and I LOVE the shoes with this look. I like the casual-meets-dressy vibe.

I feel like right now we are in a really fun time when it comes to styling. There are not rules per se. It is really an anything-goes kind of vibe, and it is really bringing out the creativity in people! People are having fun with clothing and wearing what speaks to them!

This is what spoke to me today!

So, the point of today's post is to have fun with styling! Have fun with fashion! Enjoy wearing your clothes and shoes! I mean life is too short to not wear what you love!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this styling, and I will be back on Wednesday!

Have a great week!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is doing well today!

Just a quick post for today, because I am tired and getting a later start writing this than usual!

This look is a look that dreams are made of! Well, maybe just my dreams, but still! I happened upon this look completely by mistake, but I am so glad I did! I just tried the two pieces on together on a whim and loved it!

It is delicate, but full of texture! The tiered, tulle skirt has been a favorite of mine for sometime now. It styles so well for every season! It can be styled in very feminine ways -like today's post- but it can also go really well with tougher pieces. (Hint, hint; you guys will be seeing it again in future posts!)

My favorite part though? The metal coin belt! It is actually my mom's belt and I have loved it from a young age! And have been borrowing it as well! xD

It anchors the look, in my opinion. It kind of breaks up the monotony of pink and inserts a little touch of tough chicness that solidifies the look.

What do you guys think?

Also, bonus points! Everything in this look are pieces I already own and have styled before! The skirt and shoes are the newest pieces, which I will link below if you are interested.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy and have a great weekend! Stay cool!

It is HOT!

And I am trying my best to beat the heat, but I'm afraid it maybe beating me instead! D=

The best way I have found to beat the heat when taking these pictures is to only aim to get one or maaaybe two looks shot per day and start early! That way I am not out there during the heat of the day, and I can really focus on getting good pictures in. That is my thought process anyway.

The other way is to find clever ways to dress for the heat.
Picture
Picture
That means a lot of shorts, skirts, dresses, cutouts, strapless tops, etc. Also, lighter weight fabrics!

Today's look is sort of along those lines. It is summery take on the pants-less trend that has been big lately. I tried it awhile back in the fall/winter months and really liked the way it came out! So, I thought why not try it for summer? Now for all my conservative friends and family out there, I do have biker shorts underneath. (I had them in the fall post as well!)

This look was a pretty breezy look and very comfortable! I really like the colors used in this look. The white and purple theme followed through all the way down to the sneakers is lovely. It also happens to pop against these red picnic tables! Did I plan it that way? Why yes! Yes, I did! =D

I found this cutesy business park in Ballantyne (when I was look for the mural in the last post!) and I loved the look of this recreational area right in the center. I bet it is really nice especially in the spring and fall for the people who work there. They can come and eat lunch or relax on Adirondak chairs or even play some corn hole.

And for me, it makes for a great setting for pictures! I cannot wait to go back! =D

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed and have a great start to the week!

Light at the End of the Tunnel: Summery, Off-the Shoulder, Dress...

Hello and Happy Friday!

Have you ever worn a dress or skirt or <insert article of clothing here> and knew you had something special? It just elevated your mood and your confidence?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you this lovely off-the-shoulder, summer dress!

This is that piece of clothing for me! I feel like a goddess wearing it!

Maybe I am putting too much stock into a dress (HA! punny!) but my summer would not be complete without it!
Picture

Okay, okay maybe I am getting a bit delulu but you get it right? It is a great dress! And it quite literally saved my butt while shooting these pictures! (See above picture!)

I was twirling, as one does, and it happened to be particularly windy. I just got very lucky when that one picture snapped that the dress flowed the way it did. Otherwise.... D:

This particular post has me feeling particularly giddy! It has been one of my blogging goals for the last month/month and a half to visit this tunnel mural!

It captured my attention from the first time I saw it on Instagram!

It is so beautiful! The artist @dead_folks is one of the most talented artists I have ever seen. And very kind too!

I had trouble finding this mural, so I reached out to him on Instagram, and he kindly gave me directions and the address, and wished me luck!

I actually came out to the mural one time before, to take pictures in a completely different look. I was not bowled over by it though. I had a pretty specific idea in my mind of what I wanted these pictures to look like.

So, I came back and tried again in this look, and I am so glad I did! I think this dress looks perfect against the mural colors; it fits in perfectly with the flowers on the inside, and it is great for twirling! ;)

Thank you for reading! If you are interested in checking out the mural, you can head to The Bowl at Ballantyne and see it for yourself! =D

Have a great weekend!

Hello all, Happy Monday!

First and foremost! Thank you for the birthday love! It was a great one! I really enjoyed it! I am looking forward to this new year and am grateful for how full my life is!

Okay, enough mushy stuff!

On to today's look!

Picture
Picture
Today's look is a bit of a sporty look. I actually rally enjoy being outside -not quite as much now that it is hot as hell, but I still try to get walks in during cooler parts of the day. I have found a very effective way to beat the heat is a less is more kind of styling.

So, I opted for these matching grey shorts and sports bra set. I threw a button down overtop for a little extra, lightweight coverage for when I ran errands later in the day. I found that I really loved the look of it though! It has a sporty, chic look to it. A comfortable look for a lady on the go!

I also love a good sneaker! Now, I am no sneaker buff -especially compared to my sister- but I know what I like!

I found this pair on Amazon a month or so ago and really liked them! I thought they looked great and were a decent price. Even better though, they are comfortable and there was little to no breaking in period. I have not found my feet to hurt or my heels to blister either!

Are they the perfect sneaker? I think they may be!

See you on Wednesday!

Birthday Love: Forrest Green, Ribbed Set...

Hello!

Today is my birthday!

I plan on spending the day doing some blogging -getting some pictures in, spending time outside, and spending time with the family. Nothing wildly spectacular but I'll enjoy it!
Picture
Picture
Today I am keeping things casual with this forest green set. I think this color is so rich and beautiful. And the white buttons really are a stark contrast. The ribbed design gives it a bit of texture, which I personally like a lot. I know it probably looks crazy that I am wearing long sleeves in June, when we are hitting the 90s already. BUT in my defense, the set is very light weight. Plus, the looser fit is breathable!

I feel like there are a few options when it comes to styling this set, but for today I went for a more lowkey look. A straw bag -a summer staple in my opinion- sandals, and my newest favorite hat from the NF concert!

The hat says HOPE across it, which is exactly the message I am carrying with me into a new year. Hope in this new sober life, hope in my spirituality, hope for other people who may need it. I am so grateful for you guys being along with me on this journey! I hope you guys stick around!

Thanks for reading! And have a great weekend ahead!

Hello all!

Today's look is a wonderful summery look! Mainly because it is so breathable!

The wind was a paid actor on this shoot by the way!

While it at times could be a little bit of a hindrance, mostly though it felt so nice and made for some good pictures with this t-shirt tunic! The only downside was sometimes my hair was in my face and I was a little afraid my tripod might blow over! =X
Picture

I have a little bit of a hippy chick in me. I love a very comfortable, easy-to-wear look. You may have noticed this in some of my posts. While I do love dressing up, nothing beats a stylish look that is easy!

This t-shirt tunic is exactly that -stylish and easy!

Its simplicity makes it easy to style. For today's post I kept the styling simple but had fun with this red and white bag from Thrifted Pony!

This bag was a last minute, impulse purchase and I am so glad I made it! It is so unique and interesting! The circles add a bit of texture and dimension to the overall look. Plus is has a very summery feel to it as well!

Eclectic Fun: Cargo Shorts, Playing with Head Wear...

Hello all!

Happy Friday! Is it hot enough for you? I'm dying in this humidity!

But humidity or not these pictures are not going to take themselves! xD
Picture
Picture
This is a fun, unique, and very comfortable look that I will be living in a bit this summer! These cargo shorts from Urban Outfitters are so comfortable! I have already styled them several ways and each way are just as comfortable. I want to dress them up more in a future post, but that could be tricky. I think I have an idea in mind though!

For this post, I was originally going to just wear the grey crop, shorts, and the scarf as a head wrap. And brought the hat to use in a video for Thrift Pony (that is where the hat and the crop top are both from). But a few things happened. I was not crazy about how the scarf as a headband pictured, firstly. I think it came out kind of odd looking. Other people -my mom and sister- both like how it looks so I decided I would add a few pictures in to show you guys and see what you think. But secondly, it started to get messed up as the afternoon went on.

So, finally I decided to just switch over to the hat and repurpose the scarf as a belt!

What do you know? I liked that too!
Picture

So, now, I ask you. Which styling to do you prefer?

Personally, I like the hat better. It is more in my comfort zone. That said, I do like trying different things like the scarf headband, I just don't know if I pulled it off lol. It may take a few tries to get it right!

Thank you all for reading! I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Wild Fire, Wildflower: Whimsical, Romantic, Jumpsuit...

I'm borrowing a title from my favorite Lana del Rey for this post!

It just seemed fitting, given the setting of these pictures!

I had actually taken pictures at this field/park about a year ago. For this post. I really enjoyed being immersed in a field of flowers and having some creative flexibility with the pictures themselves. So, I decided I wanted to try it again this year, but with this jumpsuit. The only problem? There were no flowers this time around. It was just this over-grown brush? (Truthfully, I'm not sure what to call it!)

Well, this gave me an opportunity to do some creative problem solving. I had started with a vision to take pictures sitting with a magazine and flowers. That part was still very do able.

But I also wanted pictures immersed in flowers. I got lucky because as it turned out, a random bench was sitting off the side of the main road (trail?) and I instantly had a new vision. I draped my scarf over the bench, complete with some wildflowers I did manage to find.

It came out very cool! A very artistic vibe! And the sky was absolutely gorgeous!

I could not have asked for a more beautiful day to take these pictures. It was sunny and there was no humidity plus a cool breeze most of the time!

As for the jumpsuit! It is such a great piece! Not only is the color lovely, but it is breezy and lightweight. I have a strapless jumpsuit that is very similar! You can see it here.

Both have a very whimsical, romantic feel to them, but the color of this one really enhances that feeling.

I cannot wait to restyle it over the course of the summer. I feel like it is sure to be a staple in my closet!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a great week!
