Hello and Happy Monday!

Okay, I know this is a bit looking towards winter BUT as I titled it, this is the pea coat that couldn't wait!

I got this back in the summer. It was on sale. I kept seeing it pop up and loving it each time -thanks a lot social media cookies! But I finally decided I was going in. It is a Shein coat. I've been very happy with my purchases thus far, and the ones I haven't liked or did not work, I was able to send back easily. So, I typically don't think hesitate with Shein purchases.

This coat though! The color blocking is what sold me!

Of course it goes great with an all black look! This look was my first go-to. With pops of color here and there. But I was also thinking jeans and a tee would be great. I have another dress from Shein, I can't wait to pair this with.

I'm very excited for fall and winter!

What do you think!

Hello and Happy Friday!

This has been such a great week! Its hard to explain! Things have been seeming to get back to normal in a way. I've been able to see and work with friends I haven't seen in a few months. And honestly the time apart, and unfortunately the virus, has made me appreciate these friendships so much more than before. It was a horrible period of time. I was always  feeling like I wasn't doing enough to help out (I couldn't because of rules, and understandably so) I tried my best to make their lives as easy as possible.

I say unfortunately, but actually this is one of the positives (in my opinion) that has come out of it. This week. Seeing my friends again. All of us genuinely appreciating each other. Its such a wonderful feeling, such a beautiful feeling and it has carried me all this week! So to all of us I'm saying congrats! In the words of Michael Scott: "After all, we are the ones with everything to celebrate!" And these ladies and gents deserves all the thanks and praise honestly. They looked after these precious lives and took care of them. A H UG E thank you to you all! I love you from the bottom of my heart!

And to all the health care workers out there! You are so appreciated and loved! Thank you for what you do!

Okay, okay, I'll stop crying and tell you about today's look! So it is a relatively simple look. Paper bag shorts and a chunky knit sweater. This is one of my favorite fall combos. The shorts with tights look I LOVE! I think it is great when you can use pieces all year long. Well most of the year any how!

To me this is a great fall look!

What do you guys think?

Check it out on the blog!

Hello and Happy Monday!

AND happy Fall! This weekend was so perfect! Cool, crisp, just absolutely perfect fall weather! It was invigorating for me and I ended up having a pretty productive weekend! I got several fall looks shot and edited on Saturday. And while Sunday was a bit more laid back, I still got a few things done that I needed to do and planned for the week ahead.

One fun thing; starting today if you have a love for fashion tag us in your fashion posts @thehoneycombexperience on Instagram and you could end up on The Honey Comb Experience platform! My friend Rob -Reasons Brown- created this educational and interactive program; 'The Honey Comb Experience.' It offers opportunities for entrepreneurs to learn about business, marketing, financing, and growing their business (just off the top of my head) as well as bringing together creative individuals in a community to network and fine tune their craft. Fashion Monday is one of its' first big interactive initiatives. Just tag @thehoneycombexperience. We will pick three of our favorites and post them on the site! Easy enough right?  We can't wait to see your stylish posts soon! =)

On to today's look. I was very happy with it. Not only is it a perfect fall look, but I also didn't sweat to death while getting the pictures in! This floral Shein dress is a staple in my closet now. It has a perfect fit. It has embellished, belle-like sleeves (which of course you can't see here but they are so fun!)

The scarf was kind of an unexpected bonus.

Once I got the look together, I realized it needed a little something else. I tried a few necklaces that worked fine. But I finally decided a scarf would really pull it together. And the color and thickness of this scarf really embodies fall in my opinion.

What do you think?! Who else is happy fall is here!?

Thanks for reading and don't forget to tag us in your fashion posts @thehoneycombexperience every Monday!

XOXO

Meal 4 Meal: Tacos 4 Life!

Hello and happy late Friday!

Okay, so I know I have posted about this place before. But I really felt this deserved its' own post! This has hands down become one of my favorite and my family's favorite places for take out.

I've talked about this part as well. Since the pandemic started my family decided to start Take out Thursday. We wanted to help out small businesses especially during the time when restaurants were closed for in door dinning. Also it was something fun we could do together as a family that help make the pandemic a little more bearable. Typically we aren't the type to eat out or take out regularly. We typically save it for special occasions like birthdays or (one of my favorites) the first day of school.

Short story! When I was young, I was really anxious about the first day of school. I was a bit socially awkward and shy (although SORT OF I grew out of that lol) so the first day of school was always really nerve wrecking for me. It always ended up alright, but still nerve wrecking. But those first day of school dinners meant a lot. It was a celebratory moment. A chance where we could all talk about our days and realized it wasn't as bad as it seemed and this could be a great year. This was all over good food!

This has become such a meaningful tradition. We have gotten to try a few different restaurants that I know I am not sure if I would have known had it not been for this tradition we created. Tacos 4 Life has become one of our favorites! And honestly I only happened to find it! I was going to look at something for a camera I had recently bought and this camera place was right beside a fantastically named placed 'Tacos 4 Life.'

I LOVE tacos. Mexican food in general. Ask anyone I work with. So I was eager to relay this info to my fam! We decided to try it. It wasn't until I checked out their menu on the site when I realized they are so much more than just your average restaurant.

Their mission is to provide meals to attempt to end world hunger. A portion of each meal you order goes to help create another meal for a family or child who is without. Hence the name Tacos 4 LIFE. It makes sense! I feel like you cannot go wrong with this place. The food is delicious! The staff is friendly, and they support a great cause. What is not to love?
Picture
The menu has so many options! I posted what we last ordered. There are quesodillas, burrito bowls, rice bowls, vegetarian options, and of course tacos! I love to mix my tacos! My latest favorite is the blackened Mahi Mahi taco! But I have also had the Spicy Chorizo (which IS spicy!), the Chipotle Steak, and the Mango Habanero taco. ALL AMAZING! My parents were pleased with their orders as well.

This was our second time and actually my dad was the one who opted for it! I have a feeling we will be back in the near future. In the meantime. I hope you enjoy this post and check them out! I really think you'll enjoy it! Not only that but you will be contributing to their 'Meal 4 Meal' campaign which aims to end world hunger!

I mean... what is not to love?! I will link their mission statement below! And I really think you should check them out they have several locations Charlotte (Pineville Matthews Rd) and also in Concord. But they also have locations nation wide in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas!

Boss Lady:: Red Boots and Blazer...

Helllooo! And Happy Monday!

I don't know you guys, I woke up feeling really good! Really ambitious! I have a few things going on that I am very excited about and that you will be hearing about soon in future posts! I am feeling more creative and I have some ideas for future content. I am very much tempted to attempt video content -BUT I'm self conscious to be on video. Also I'm not exactly sure how to do it... that part I can probably figure out though. As self conscious as I am, however, I felt the same way when I began my blog. Now I have no hesitations about taking and posting pictures. So, maybe I just have to get myself comfortable with videos. We will see!

Also, today I woke up feeling like a boss lady! And this look embraces that boss lady feeling. A sharp blazer ALWAYS brings that out in me! You guys know I love a good blazer! And this oversized blazer from Target has become one of  my favorites! I love how it hangs around the same length as the dress. The knotted/asymmetrical hem of the dress creates an interesting contrast as well as texture.

Of course the boots just scream fall! And while, yes it is a bit early still, I can't help myself! I LOVE fall fashion!

Thanks for reading! I have some good stuff coming up so stay tuned!

XOXO

Hey all and Happy Friday!

Have you seen the white girl/people meme about fall? I'm that girl! September I'm SO ready for fall! Which you can tell with this post!

I pull out the booties, the sweaters, the scarves! BUT its still warm so I had to break out the shorts as well.

These booties I shared in one of my first blog posts! Why don't you see it though? Well, when I first started blogging it was under www.reaganinmyownworld.weebly.com -check it out if you wish! But then I began learning about blogging and purchased my own domain name. I rarely wear them sadly, but they seemed to work well for this post!

What do you think?

Fall Look Book Part 1...

Hello and Happy Monday/Happy Labor Day!

I feel like this year Labor day takes on a whole new meaning! For me, it has given me so much perspective. I have heard about so many people loosing jobs and struggling to make ends meet. It makes me thankful to have my job and makes me want to work harder, go above and beyond for my friends in the heat of it. To try and make the best of this bad situation.

One thing that my parents and I began to do is -and if you follow me on social media you already know this- that we began ordering take out every Thursday. It is something a little different. Typically, we don't eat out a whole lot. Usually just for birthdays or special occasions like the start of the school year. Sometimes if someone had a gift card, we'd treat ourselves. This is the first time where we have decided weekly to order out. And it has been so nice! We have a whole list of new favorite restaurants! It is something we look forward too and have bonded over. Plus, and this is really why we started doing it, we are able to support local businesses.

Then I also think about the nurses, postal services and delivery drivers, grocery store employees, just to name a few! Who are working long hours to keep us all safe and healthy. I loved seeing videos of people applauding for the nursing staff at hospitals as shifts changed. I know this has been rough, but there are still many, many bright spots to look for and enjoy. I know it has been said a million times, but what is once more? We are so thankful for you!

OKAY, on to today's look! It is my first fall look for this year! Oh there will be plenty more to come! Don't worry. This one is works because it incorporates several fall pieces and inspirations. The auburn color of this skirt is one example. To me this color screams fall! It makes me think of the changing colors of the leaves. The graphic tee, is nice because the temps don't drop for a while still. So I can be comfortable and cool while still embracing the fall look.

The booties! They are some of my favorite booties! Very comfy! That small dash of detail on the sides is the perfect addition. It gives a bit of texture without stealing the show!

However, I will say that I sent this picture to a friend for an opinion before I posted and he said I looked like Carl Grimes.

Carl Grimes.

From The Walking Dead.

No idea how to take that.

.........but *sigh* I can see it kind of.

XD

Thanks for reading! See you Friday!

XOXO

Pastel All Day...

Hello all! Happy Friday!

So I'm thinking this will be the last summery look you will see for this year. We are moving into the fall season of course! Which is actually my favorite season! I love the cooler temps, the changing colors of the leaves, and of course the fashion! From sweaters to hats to boots! I love it all!

BUT today was HOT. Like, ridiculously hot! We are talking mid 90s. I could not bring myself to attempt to wear a sweater or layers today. So I went with another pairing that I have been considering for awhile. It is not strikingly different from other pairings. With this particular wrap skirt, I really love pairing it with similar colors. It is just so feminine and delicate in a way. This skirt has quickly become one of my favorites.

This light crop top has as well! When I originally received it, I was thinking 'what the heck? What will I do with this?' But after a little experimenting I found a few different ways to wear it. I am glad I kept it!

For the rest of the look I just decided to keep it simple and stick with pastels or nude colors all the way down.

What do you think?

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great Labor Day weekend! I'll see you on Monday!

XOXO
