Hello! And Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend! I did! I had to work but it was a short work day all weekend and I saw some old friends I had not seen in a minuet!

So a quick post for today, this is a dress I got from a recent Shein.com spree. I got a few things but I love the look of it! I love a great maxi, and I could see it as a great summer/fall dress! The fall look is what I am styling today. I paired it with a slouchy sweater from Target.

I love the look! It is so feminine and breathable. I can't stand to be too hot so this is a perfect combination. Neither the dress,  nor sweater is terribly heavy. It is perfect for an early morning meeting or errand run. It is great for a lunch or dinner date. It is just perfect!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

I know its the first day of fall and I am posting a summery look. I have had such trouble lately with posting! I don't want to dwell on it but there have been some set backs that... well... set me back lol!

I think I'm on the right track now. I wanted to shoot this particular blog. It is the last piece from my Marti and Liz shopping spree and the next post will be fully fall styles. But I just couldn't leave this out!

This is such a comfortable/versatile look! I feel like it could also be a fall look with a denim jacket, perhaps a blazer? I'll have to explore some of these looks!

But it is definitely a great summer look! I paired it with a crop top for this post but I have also worn it with a regular t-shirt.

What do you guys think?!

A Flannel and Cargo Combo!

Hello! And Happy LATE Friday!

It has been one hell of a week! A lot of ups! A few downs. And as much as I hate to admit it I completely lost track of my days! I completely forgot today was Friday -in my defense, to me it didn't feel like a Friday!- and I suddenly remembered at around 7:30 I needed to get this post out!  Of course I was still have issues with my laptop but thankfully my Dad was able to save the day! I was mentally prepared to have to re-edit the pictures on our desktop computer and make it an EVEN later post, but my Dad -the technology expert!- figured it out and fixed my lap top!

Thanks Pops!

For this post, I'm determined to find five (or more) these cargo pants. I've found several ways already and this is just one more. Once I figure out how to edit videos maybe I'll do a video of the ways I've worn them thus far! But this look I really like because its so comfy/casual. I'm not 100% comfortable too much of a crop top -I'm not even close to Britney!- but this look allows me to have a little skin show but also in a comfortable way. Not TOO much is showing and the oversized flannel jacket gives me some extra coverage.

The slouchy-ness of the jacket and the cargo pants really work well together to give off that comfy/casual/effortless look. I think its the crop top that really ties the look together to make it look chic and pulled together.

What do you guys think!?

Also, I saw a lot of you guys voted yes on whether or not I should do a post all about the Met Gala! So I am going to be working on that! Stay tuned! =)

A Two for One Styling....

9/10/2021

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

I hope all is well with you!

Today is a little but shorter of a post BUT it is a two for one styling post! One of my goals after my break was to focus on styling different pieces different ways. I have struggled with this in the past myself. I'll begin to feel like I'm in a styling rut, like the clothes in my closet are not as interesting to me anymore. That is not always the case though! It is just about figuring out new ways to style them.

Of course, having said that, this dress is a relatively new piece. I got it is another piece I got when my Aunt visited. It is also from the boutique Marti and Liz Shoes. In all honesty, I was not too sure about it right away. I liked the print and the bohemian vibes of it. I'm not sure what it was I was hesitant about, but my Aunt really seemed to like it. So I splurged and figured if I got home and started styling it and continued to feel the same way, I could bring it back.

I'm so glad I got it! I found several ways -pretty quickly I might add- to style it. These are just two of the looks. For this post I wanted to style it in two pretty different ways. I wanted a more summery or at least end-of-summer look and then I wanted a late fall kind of a look.

You maybe surprised to hear this but the late fall look was actually one of the first ideas to pop in my head at all. The idea of a statement belt, paired with the moto jacket really jumped out at me. And I like the way it came out. The second look, I stumbled upon the other day actually. I knew I wanted to pair the dress with a hat, it was the shoes that I was hung up on. I knew a safe choice was to go with sandals of some sort. But what fun is that?! I found my H&M loafers and -just for fun- tried them on with the dress.

Whaddaya know?! I loved the way they looked! It just all came together perfectly!

Which do you prefer!?

I have several other ideas for the dress but I'm going to save them for another post... ;)

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend! See you Monday!

Final Days of Summer with Hints of Fall...

Hello friends!

It has been a minuet! Have you missed me?

I missed you guys!

I really did! And it feels really good to be back at it and posting again. Also, do I look ready to go back to school?! Because I am! Yes ma'm! I am taking a photography course at a community college nearby. I am HOPING my first day will be September 14th. It was supposed to be August 10th -I think- but that particular class was cancelled because I suppose not enough people had signed up for it. I was a bit bummed because I was hoping for my first post back I would have some better quality pictures for you guys. (Although actually, I feel like these came out pretty well.)

Let me back up a moment. A little over a year ago, I bought a camera from a former co-worker, a nice camera! A Nikon D90! BY FAR the nicest camera I've ever owned. When I went to pick it up, they walked me through it and it seemed simple enough at the time. When I got home and went to use it a day or two later... I felt so lost! All that they told me had gone straight out the window. I think it was the self timer that I really couldn't figure out. Now, the smart thing to do would have been to message them and just ask. At that particular moment I was really needing pictures for a post, so I used my other camera. The one I use for most of my posts, got the pictures, got the post written, and forgot to message them. Basically I just kept procrastinating -thanks ADD- until it wasn't just the self timer I would need help with. It was everything! So, as much as it hurts to write this, the camera has just been sitting in our front room for sometime!

In July, when I decided to take a break from blogging, I was getting frustrated with my blog. I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere with it and I was even starting to feel like it was more of an obligation than it was fun. There were some other things as well that contributed to that feeling -some personal things that I don't really want to share here but will talk about one on one if you have questions. That's when I decided I needed to slow down and take a break. I focused on myself in that time and I also focused on how I wanted to reinvent my blog. What could I do that would make it fun again for me? That is when I decided I wanted to once and for all figure this camera out. I reached out to a few of my camera savy friends but when they weren't able to help me, I decided to enroll in a course. I figure at least I will learn and at most I might meet other like minded/creative people who might want to collaborate with me.  Who knows?

I'm also going to venture onto YouTube. This is one of my more scarier goals and it is going to be a learning experience for sure! I have so many ideas of topics to cover! However talking on camera is daunting to me. I figure though, the more I do it the easier it will become. And both of these things have really reignited my love for this blog! It reminds me of why I started in the first place. I will keep you posted on the YouTube timeline!

And finally I'm really going to try and not worry about numbers or what other people are doing/comparing myself to other people. That is such a dangerous trap to fall into and I 100% did two months ago. Now I am just excited to get back out there and go at my own pace and write/blog about the things I want to write and blog about.

For this post, I really just wanted to tell you about my time away and what I've been up to. But I cannot end it before telling you about this look! This look is one of my favorites! Its comfortable and versatile as we transition from summer to fall. The shorts and cropped jacket I found at a boutique called Marti and Liz Shoes. They are primarily a shoe store, but they also have some clothing as well. I went there in August on a mini shopping spree with my mom and my Aunt. My Aunt really sold me on the jacket. I've never had anything with star prints before! But I love the cropped look and the slightly oversized look of it and felt that it really went well with these shorts.

I love the burnt orange color of the shorts! It is one of my favorite colors! It puts me in mind of fall! (Which I cannot wait for!)

And of course, I wouldn't be back-to-school ready without my Steve Madden back pack! Thanks Aunt Sherry!

Thank you so much for reading! Stay tuned, there is a lot coming up! =)
