Happy Sunday! 

Today I'm experimenting with a monochromatic color scheme. If you follow my blog, you may know that this is not my typical style. I tend to incorporate at least one pop of color -usually shoes or bags- to refrain from using too much of one color. However, I keep seeing other ladies successfully pull off using just one color in their look, and I decided to try it myself. 

Given that its a little out of my comfort zone, I started off with a simple look; pairing together one of my favorite dresses, with one of my favorite pairs of flats, and a nicely structured bag. I personally love the deep, wine-colored red. Its very classy and easy to style. I suppose the denim jacket could be construed as a pop of color -hey, old habits die hard!- but it also acts as an anchor. Its' a little hard to tell in the picture, but the flats in particular are slightly lighter shades of red than the dress and bag. Its not terribly noticeable at a glance but it is there. The jacket helps distract from the color difference a bit. 

This is such a great go-to outfit for when you're on the go or for a casual Sunday afternoon or brunch or errands... Its simple, chic, and especially nice with this ever-changing temperatures (although I ran a bit warm during the shoot.)

Hello all! Happy Hump Day!

Today was actually much cooler than usual! It was awesome! I got to break out a scarf, booties, AND light jacket! Woot! =) This scarf is from Newchic.com. I have worked with them several times before and they always have lovely products. This scarf is so soft and I appreciate the soft hues and the unique waterfall-like pattern. I  wanted it to stand out, so I kept the outfit relatively simple. The scarf drapes so naturally -I'm excited to find other ways to style it! =)

Another piece I had fun with for this post, are these shades from Versona. I have not ever owned shades quite like these. They have a gaga-esque  vibe to them, which I love! Combined with the pleather jeggings and booties,, the shades really add an element of edge. A unique flair.

 What a gorgeous day!

It has been a great day so far. Although this particular look looks casual, a lot of thought went into it. I love the casual nature of the ensemble. I have and will always have a place in my heart for graphic tees and flared jeans.

Graphic tees bring a casual tone to any look, really. Blazers are perfect pairings for these pairings! That is the key for graphic tee pairings -fun meets sophistication. This particular blazer is very relaxed and the deep pink is perfect for fall. Flared jeans are extremely flattering. As much as I love skinny jeans, I do love the flared jeans as well!

Maybe it is because we don't see them as much as we do the skinny jeans, but there is something about the flared jeans that speaks to me. They have an iconic/classy vibe about them.

The necklace pairing was relatively simple. A LOFT choker paired with a simple drop-down necklace. But it works as if they are one piece! =)

Hello all! 

Starting the week off with pink -of variations of it! 

I was actually just experimenting with different pairings against the skirt. When I tried the this vest I was surprised at how much I really liked the pairing. 

The contrast of the shades of pink and the unique silhouette that the vest creates (that is what I love most about the vest!)

Hello and happy Tuesday!

And what a lovely day it is!

It was cool enough to break out boots this morning, but I had to change to heels for the post. But it is still perfect weather, to me at least! I strayed from my comfort zone a bit for this post. I have seen other bloggers focus on monochromatic color plays before. I have loved what I have seen so I tried my hand at it.

I love the design of this asymmetrical hem dress from Newchic.com. Its' sexy, fun, and easy to style! I styled it with a grey bag from Francesca's and grey Mossimo heels. The only real 'pop' is the scarf which, I feel, stays within the same color family, and anchors the whole look.

To everyone in Hati and anyone who is suffering from Hurricane Matthew, my heart and prayers are with you. If nothing else, I hope we come together to help heal and rebuild.

Hello and Happy Friday!

I have been on a lace-kick lately! Lace is such an elegant fabric, in my opinion. It adds an element of class and sophistication to looks. I particularly love the navy color of this LOFT blouse. I paired it with neutral colors; olive jeans, and beige booties -and of course a pop of color with the Versona bag!

In my opinion the combination of these colors embrace the fall season  (and an unexpected bonus -the bag really works well with our fall décor!) ;)

Pearls are also classic pieces in my mind. I have several different pearl necklaces, but I chose this one in particular because it is so simple. It would not distract from the blouse, in fact I think it anchors the look nicely.

Happy Monday!

For today's look I love the colors and textures. It is feminine, it is bold, and the pops of color really escalate this look to the next level. 

I paired it with black, studded sandals and a plaid print bag for dinner with my parents later on! 

I cannot get enough of this Newchic.com statement necklace! It has such an elegant feel! I love finding different ways to wear it.
