The Boho Chic Look: Burnt Orange and Beige...

Hello everyone!

Happy Friday! And Happy December!

I cannot believe it is already December! I feel like this year in general flew by, but in particular this fall season. I am trying really hard to stay present in the moments each day, so I can enjoy the holiday season more. In fact, tomorrow night, I am going to a Christmas tree lighting, and I am very excited for that. I am trying to find some other holiday activities to enjoy this year.

Also, as you'll see in this post, I got some new wheels!

I finally decided to trade in my old car and get a new one. Mainly for peace of mind, my other car was becoming a bit of a stressor. Although it is setting the house buying process back a bit, I really love my new car! I'm grateful to actually be able to buy one now without feeling so strapped for money, the way I felt last time.

Today's look is a bit more of an outer wear styling, than a full outfit. That is mainly because the day I took these pictures, and for several days since, it has been very cold! Not chilly -COLD! Especially when the wind would blow. So, I took a page out of two of my all-time favorite style muses, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen!

Remember their boho chic look that they dawned for a while in the 2000s? They layered oversized coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, and scarves together and ended up looking really chic!

When it is really cold out, that is one of my favorite go-to styles. Between the big, billowy scarf and the peacoat, it kind of gives off a similar vibe as the Olsen twins' signature style. I did not take it quite to the extreme that they did/do, but I still like how my styling came out.

The other thing I like about this look, is the simple color story at play here. Burnt orange is one of my favorite colors! In fact, while I was car shopping, I looked at a car that was a burnt orange color!

But the use of minimal colors is what makes this look very crisp, clean, and chic.

Thank you so much for reading! And I wish you a great weekend ahead!

Stay safe!

Tis the Season:: Bundling Up in Neutrals...

Hello and Happy Monday!

I have been feeling particularly inspired lately! I do not know what it is exactly, but ideas just keep popping into my head for looks to shoot or videos to film. While, at times, it can be overwhelming, I am always grateful for these moments. I have been on the other side -a creative rut- and it is a frustrating feeling.

I got up early Sunday morning, before work and before this shopping center got busy, and was able to get some good shots with the gorgeous Christmas tree there.

I remember taking pictures by it last year, and it was so much more nerve wrecking!  Hell, just taking pictures at this shopping center was a huge deal the first time I did it, and now, it is no big deal. It is funny how that works out!

On to today's look!

This is yet one more way to style a black jumpsuit. Of course, you could also pull this look off with leggings as well. Truth be told, leggings have a leg up -punny!- on the jumpsuit because you don't have to take everything off to go to the bathroom. But you guys know I like to find at least three different ways to style pieces, and this is actually the third way!

I wore this earlier this week to look for a new car -minus the coat, it got a little too warm for it. But I love how the coat adds a very polished vibe to the casual look. The boots also help with this.

The coat though has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is very warm, but also very chic! It tends to elevate any look. And because of the neutral color, it can be styled with pretty much anything!

I hope you guys don't get sick of me posting Christmas content! I feel like there maybe several more Christmas tree  shoots in the near future!

I will try to take it easy on them though!

I hope you guys all have a great week ahead! See you on Wednesday!

Hello all! Happy Black Friday!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are now getting to indulge in some good sales!

Last weekend was a busy weekend for me! I shared about it a bit on the vlog. If you missed it, you can still check it out, here. The weekend left me feeling so inspired and productive! Though tired, I managed to get some pictures in in the late afternoon.

This look was something I put together on the day. I have had this sweater for a few years now and the colors just speak to me. I love the light distressed details. It is a pretty simple piece to style, I kept it casual with a cargo, denim, mini skirt and boots.

Overall, I love the playful feeling this look creates!

It is a bit of a shorter post today, but I thank you all the same for reading!

I wish you all a great and safe weekend ahead!

Thanksgiving Vibes: Printed Dress, Fuchsia Booties...

Hello! Happy Monday and Happy Thanksgiving week!

I am back off of a busy weekend, but it was a lot of fun! I went to an event on Friday with my bestie, Vikee (Designer Diva) hosted by our friend, Rob. It was called What's n' the Honey 2023. It was amazing! There was art in all forms on display at the event. Music, sculptures, live body art, canvases, and a lot of dancing! Then the next morning, I went to a skincare event hosted by L'Occitane and Vikee, where we saw and sampled their selections for holiday gift ideas. And the finally, I went out to Rea Farms for a Christmas tree lighting! They really went all out for a great evening! There were elves on stilts, snow, a snow princess, an aerialist, the Grinch!

I will get into all of those events in future posts, but that was a sneak peak of what to look forward to!

On to today's look!

Today I have a warm, cozy, Thanksgiving friendly look!

This was a look that I just happened upon. I was actually planning to pair this sweater with a pencil skirt and heels, but for some reason I was dragging my feet about it. Instead, I saw this dress and had an idea to try it with the sweater. I liked how they matched a lot better.

I had heels in mind, but again, spied these fuchsia booties and thought 'lets just try them...'

And I loved how they looked! It was the perfect pop of color!

This just goes to show that you should just try out unlikely pieces together! Get creative with your styling! You never know what you'll come up with! Sure, not every combo will work out as you envisioned. But that just makes the ones that do all the better!

Thanks so much for reading! I will see you on Wednesday for a post and video!

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! Stay safe and enjoy!

Mixing Prints: Plaid, Stripes, and Distressed Denim...

Hello and Happy Friday!

We are getting closer and closer to Thanksgiving! I hope you guys are ready! I know I am!

It has actually become one of my favorite holidays. Just to be able to reflect and think about the things I am so grateful for. So many of those things I take for granted daily, and I find myself constantly trying to change that. I make a lot of gratitude lists in the mornings. When I say prayers at night, I thank God for everything (I'm usually more detailed in my prayer hehe!)

I feel if I make being grateful a way of life, it changes my perspective entirely. It keeps me in a much more positive mindset. It keeps me patient with others. I am by no means perfect at this, it is something I put work into, but I still have my moments of course. It is something I have recently adopted, within the last few years and it has made a difference! Thanksgiving, kind of brings it all home!

And of course, I love a good meal!

Today I am styling a pretty casual look, but one that fully reminds me of the 90s grunge scene!

Well, maybe not FULLY! But it definitely has that vibe!

In today's look, I used one of my favorite styling techniques -mixing prints! I feel as though I have not done as much of that lately and I miss it! I need to make it a point to mix more prints together!

This is not the most obvious mixing of prints; in fact, it is pretty tame. The stripes are not all that big and do not really stand out as much, especially in comparison to the plaid -which stands out quite a bit!

When I shot this look, it was a morning that had a bit of a chill to it, so layering was a must! This look kept me comfortably warm while I shot and comfortable in general as I went about my day.

Warm Fuzzies:: Neutrals and Denim Skirt...

Hello and Happy Monday!

As we get closer to the holiday season, I felt like this was a great time to post this look. In my opinion, this is the epitome of a perfect Thanksgiving look. In my mind, Thanksgiving colors include browns, reds, oranges, yellows -fall colors! This look embraces that theme. The neutrality of this look is appropriate for a family gathering while still looking polished.

Of course, it is a great look to wear day to day as well! Especially for this time of year when the weather does not know what it wants to do, I can be warm without burning up!

On a side note, I am so glad for the full denim skirts being in style!

They are such a classic piece! Versatile and chic and flattering! They work even better as a fall/winter piece since of course it is cooler. Plus, I love pairing them with boots! These dark brown booties in particular have a very polished look against the skirt.

The ruched bag has really paid itself off! (Granted I don't think I paid much more than $20 for it!) That subtle detail packs a punch with this look. It adds a bit of character, as well as brings out the belt a bit more. In my opinion, I feel it is the accessories that pull this look together beautifully!

Hello! Happy Friday!

We've come to the end of another week and the holidays will be upon us before we know it!

In that spirit, I decided to share a dressier look with you today!

You have seen this jumpsuit before, in this sportier styled post. But I wanted to find a way to dress it up a bit.

It is amazing how a few simple touches can really dress a look up!

I simply threw on a blue blazer over top, added some heels, and a nice bag and voila! You have yourself a great date night look or a great party look! (For a more holiday themed party you could opt for a red or gold blazer!)

The shoes and the bag are two relatively new pieces.

The shoes, from Rack Room (and on sale!) are stunners! The pointy toed piece is unique in itself, but it has several glittery stones for some extra glam!

The bag is so unique in its' shape! That was what drew me too it! I have already gotten several compliments on it!

Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday!

Running Latte: Green Trousers, Turtleneck, and Peacoat!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

It got pretty cold this past week! So cold in fact, that this peacoat and beanie were appropriate!

When I took these pictures, it was especially windy, making the cold air even more bitter! But it is November, so I cannot complain!

This was a look that I actually came up with over the summer. The pants, you probably recognize, are part of a set. I've gotten plenty of wear out of them!

When I was doing a video about sets, I came up with this look. I knew the beige and green colors would go together beautifully!

I almost opted for a solid color bag. That would have worked well, but there is something about the plaid pattern that screams fall to me! It just seemed more fitting this particular day! Plus, I think it adds a bit of fun to the look.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this look!

Also, for those curious, I stopped in at Raw Crunch and Coffee before taking these pictures. I got a small, vanilla latte. It was SO good! It kept me warm and caffeinated while shooting these pictures! =D

Have a great week ahead! See you on Wednesday!

Rescue Me: Off The Shoulder, Maroon Dress...

Hello all! Happy Friday to you!

This has been a really good week for me. It was really productive but also low key as well!

I am also really embracing this cold weather that has descended upon us! I'm excitedly breaking out my peacoats and sweaters!
Picture

But before I begin flooding my blog with posts of peacoats and sweaters, I want to spend a little time shouting out this beautiful number!

I called it my 'rescue dress' because a few weeks ago when I went to the Vestique Fashion show, I had one look all planned out in my head. The night of, I put that outfit on and.... HATED it! I frantically searched for something else to wear and pulled out this dress!

I have had this dress for quite a few years now and it always comes through for me! It came through for me again this night!

It is feminine and sexy! The red wine color is rich, the material is not very heavy at all! Which ended up being a good thing, because that night was not that cool, and the venue was PACKED and warm!
