6 of My Go-To Summer Outfits....

Hello!

I cannot believe tomorrow is September 1st! I am excited for fall! Today I decided to try something a little different. As we say goodbye to summer and usher in the new fall season, I am excited for the cooler temperatures, the changing of the leaves, and -of course- the fall fashion! But this summer has been a good one for me! I have had time to really invest time and energy into my blog, I have met interesting people and made connections and I feel like my blog has really come a long way this summer. I am excited for the possibilities! But today I decided to do something a little different and take a look back at some of my favorite summery looks.

These are my go-to summer outfits that were my life savers  on days that I was not sure what to wear or felt uninspired or short on time (which was most of the time the case!) I hope you enjoy and as always thanks for reading! =) God Bless!

Mixing Patterns and Fabrics...  Part One of my First Blog Collaboration!

Hello everyone! TGIF!

I am especially excited to share this post with you today! This is part one of a two part (and hopefully future) collaborations.

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to collaborate with a fellow Charlotte based blogger -Meredith! We met at a Charlotte Bloggers meeting a few months ago and kept in touch. I felt like I was in a real photo shoot working with her!

We were able to chat and I felt like a learned so much from her in just the hour or so that we worked together.

For this particular post there are several elements going on -which ordinarily I tend to stay away from. Mixing different patterns or fabrics or even colors in one ensemble is one thing, but to incorporate all of them into one ensemble is another. However, I was feeling inspired and bold so I thought 'what the hell? Why not?" (sorry mom/dad :x)!

I felt like it paid off.

I paired a sheer, lacey, Loft top with tweed, Loft shorts. I paired them together before -those who follow me on Instagram may remember the picture I posted when I got the top= there was something about the way the two pieces looked together that I just loved. Perhaps the romantic feel, the rebellious contrasting details, I cannot put my finger on exactly what it is.

The turquoise blazer added an additional color which helps blend the contrasting patterns/fabrics. While the statement necklace pulls it all together. I personally fell in love with this look.

I hope you think so as well!  Thanks for reading!
And a huge shout out to my fellow blogger and friend Meredith! I look forward to working together again in the future!

And stay tuned for part 2! =)

The Return of the Trench Vest! =)

It is the last few days of summer and I am getting the most out of it, fashion wise.

I'm trying to slowly incorporate transitional pieces into my everyday wear and my posts but I'm not quite ready to give up shorts, skirts, and dresses.

Today I decided to restyle my trench vest. I got a pretty positive response the first time I debuted this Forever21 piece, so I played around with it some more and came up with this ensemble.

Its casual yet sophisticated which I love. I have a feeling the trench vest will be a great piece in the fall! I am looking forward to fall fashion in the next few weeks! =)

Once again a huge thank you to my friend Jennifer for helping with these pictures!

Thanks for reading!

The Versona Jumpsuit!

Hello! Happy Monday!

So, for a while now I have had my eye open for a jumpsuit. I became obsessed with rompers this summer and now I have finally found a fabulous jumpsuit that is perfect for me!

This Versona jumpsuit is unique in many ways. The wide, floral printed leg has a 70's vibe as well as a fun summery nature. The ribbed top adds texture.

The fit is extremely flattering and comfortable actually has a lengthening affect (which is important to me since I'm a bit on the short side lol!)

I have recently become obsessed with getting things altered! I know that probably sounds ridiculous but I have! It started with this jumpsuit, I had to take it somewhere to get it hemmed. I went to Spring Fresh Cleaners- which is seriously two minuets away from my apartment.

Since then I have taken three pairs of pairs -including the red trousers from my last post- there to be hemmed and I plan on taking a few other pieces there for alterations in the near future. I cannot explain this obsession. I guess  I feel metropolitan or something taking the clothes there and picking them up.  Or perhaps its  care that you put into great pieces when you find them that is rewarding. Also the close vicinity doesn't hurt anything! ;)

Thank you so much for reading and feel free to let me know what you think of this jumpsuit! =)

Happy Wednesday!

There is something so chic about red pants! They are a staple item in my book! It instantly elevates any outfit to the next level. I paired it with another staple item; a striped peplum top!

There is a striking contrast between the two pieces and looks sophisticated and polished.

I threw on heels for an additional touch of glam!

Thanks for reading! Hope you are well! =) XOXO

Layering Tricks to Create Stylish Looks...

Hello and Happy Monday!

I am kicking the week off with a unique and rather bold look that I have been toying with recently. I really like the look of the ensemble; it makes me feel like I should be walking the streets of NYC or going to a fancy business dinner or something!

And it is relatively easy to pull off! All it really is, is creative layering. I simply layered a shark-bite Versona tunic over a checkered patterned, Forever 21 dress, added a statement necklace, and pulled it all together with a Mossimo belt.

The whole look has a high-end fashion feel to it. And there are several intriguing elements at work to create this feel. First of all the necklace and checkered pattern give it some texture.

But I think the key is keeping all of the base colors within the same family. The darker hues of the dress, the necklace, the clutch, the heels, and the belt are all within the same color family and allow the tunic to really pop.

And bonus points -it is easy flattering and pretty comfortable! =)

I played around with this pairing before I opted for this combination. But I included two pictures of another way I styled it with a larger statement belt and strappy heels.  Personally, I think I enjoy this look better but feel free to let me know which you like best!

Thanks for reading! Have a great day! =) XOXO

Hello!

Just wanted to give a quick hello to everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend! Mine has been very nice so far, but very busy!

I've worked all weekend -which I actually don't really mind- had a blogging meeting Saturday, and then did a shoot after that! And today's schedule is kind of the same; work, post blog, church, and dinner with the family!

It's busy but I love it. Which is good because -hopefully- this week will continue to be productive and busy! Collaborations! New and great pieces to share with you! Shoots and work!

But we will see! For today I decided to take it easy with boyfriend jeans, a graphic tee, and leopard print heels! This is a great look because it is so versatile! It is casual -it can be worn with flats or heels (like I chose). It's comfortable and an effortless look to pull off.

This is also a great ensemble to begin the transition into fall!

The leopard print heels are one of my favorite pairs of heels -they will be making an appearance later this week too heads up! ;)

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful Sunday! Thanks for reading! =)

The Need for Tweed...

Happy Wednesday!

I decided to play around with fabrics again -tweed this time! I got a great deal on these striped, tweed shorts from Loft. I was kind of playing around, pairing them with different tops, when I found this tweed jacket!

I like the looser fit of the whole ensemble. It is a relaxing, laid back look while still obtaining the polished, chic look as well.

Once again, I collaborated with my friend Jen on this shoot! Big thanks to her for this post! =)

I hope you like it! Thanks for reading! =) XOXO

Playing with Details and Fabrics...

I'm having some fun with fabrics today!

I am wearing for the first time a new piece -a suede, Versona romper! =)

It is a great romper! Flattering, the details are intricate and fun, and the scalloped hem is feminine! I love it! I have played around with it a lot lately. But I really liked the look I got when pairing it with a polyester, billow, aqua colored blouse.

It has a fun, polished vibe! Bold, daring -which parallels the mood I have been in lately.

I will be posting more about this later! But for now, enjoy! And feel free to let me know what you think! =)

XOXO

Elegant Striped Maxi Dress...

TGIF!! =)

Earlier this week my friend, Jen (the same Jen who helped me with pictures for my last post) wore this dress and I loved it!

So she let me borrow it and share it here! I love it because it made me feel elegant and tall. The zig-zag pattern of the stripes is very flattering, the fabric is great quality.

Since it was raining, I wore a dark green, structured, cropped jacket. Personally, I love the way it looks. I think the playfulness of the dress and mature look of the jacket work perfectly together.

I chose a statement necklace from the Sophia and Kate collection and  a Jessica McClintock clutch for a bold, more dramatic look.

Jen wore it with sandals and a jean jacket and looked just as stylish! She threw on wedges for a night out, and I wore it once with flats, a long necklace, and wide brimmed fedora -thus proving the versatility of the dress! =)

If I did not mention it before, I LOVE this dress.... maybe Jen won't want it back?! Lol, only kidding!

I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for reading as always! =) XOXO
