Staying Cozy with Layers and Prints...

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today is a relatively simple look. But it is a great fall look! It is pretty easy to pull off. All I did was throw a sweater over a dress. Layers are key in this ever changing weather.

I wasn't crazy about it alone, just the sweater and dress together, but the scarf if what really tied it together.

Sorry this is kind of a short post today. I'll be back Friday with more to share with you!

Thanks for reading.

Distressed and Flares...

Hello and Happy Black Friday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It was a great day here. Good friends/family, lots of laughs, and of course good food! Plus it ushers in the official start -at least at our house- of the Christmas/holiday season. My sister and I were talking tonight about maybe going somewhere to see Christmas lights. I went to McCadenville once -for those that don't know it is a little town not too far from Charlotte, that usually goes all out with Christmas lights. You just drive through and look at them. That was a fun experience, but sadly I heard they are not doing it this year. Maybe there are some other places we can go, if -of course- it can be done safely.

So, today on the blog I styled one of my favorite sweaters. Its one I got last year from Shein and has served me well! I've paired it with skinny jeans, shorts, a skirt, and now flared jeans. It was the loose fit and the bright, bold colors that drew my eye. Even the distressed feature I have come to really appreciate. The necklace is also a Shein purchase. These have also become one of my favorite pieces.

The uneven layered look and the delicate pieces mixed with a chain speak to me.

I hope everyone had a great day and a great weekend ahead! Hopefully you can check out some of the great Black Friday deals going on today and throughout the weekend!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO

A Different Thanksgiving...

Hello and happy Monday!

Happy Thanksgiving week! In light of the holiday, I opted for autumn like colors. Actually a semi monochromatic look. And it is almost completely a Shein look! The dress is more a burnt orange color while the dress is a little more orange, but they work really well together! I felt the belt, helped to cinch the waist and add a little break to the monochromatic look. Additionally, it ties the booties and the bag in with the look.

I really want to shout out Shein.com. You guys know I already love them. I'm not lying! I'm not exaggerating. I've never had such an easy experience ordering from a company. In fact I have ordered from other places and have had a really hard time returning items. Its been so hard sometimes I've just had to suck it up and keep/give away the item if it didn't work out. But A. I almost always end up loving my Shein purchases, like in this post, and B. the times when they haven't worked out, returning is so easy! And I am very thankful for them! Especially this year, when going to stores is a whole different experience.

That brings me to this; I know this year has been ridiculously difficult and trying. I don't want to minimize anyone's experience with the virus or with anything else you may have been enduring. For me, my anxiety was sky high for a while, calmed for a bit, then we got the virus at work and it went sky high again. It has been a rough year. That doesn't mean there are not things to celebrate. It can definitely seem bleak at times but there are bright things still in this world, in this year. There is still reasons to be hopeful! We can still end this year on a good note! Don't give up my friends!

I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for reading!

Hello and Happy Friday!

You may have heard a lot of B U Z Z lately about The Honey Comb Experience! And I'm here to share it with you! Last Friday, Friday the 13th ironically, was one of the better days I've had! After a day of work, I went home and prepared for the first big event hosted by The Honey Comb Experience.

So what is The Honey Comb Experience?

In the words of the creator, Reasons, "Its an exclusive club, exclusive people, exclusive things to impact the community."

I'm here to share my experience Friday night. It was all kinds of amazing! I met so many people! There were 10 vendors and 5 painters. The energy in the room was infectious -in a good way! Everyone was pumped and ready to indulged in conversation and at times dancing around and really enjoying the evening. At one point Rob invited certain people up to speak about their businesses. I ended up being one of those people.

I did not know this ahead of time.

That may have actually been a good thing though. I spoke from my heart. And while it may have not been perfect, it was honest, and people seemed to feel that. I also was so honored to have that moment from Rob. It is one of those moments where you just feel appreciated and like 'hey you've got something good going here!'

I've worked so long and so hard on my blog over the years and he noticed! That is a remarkable feeling!

That is what The Honey Comb Experience is all about! Building up one another. Giving people a chance to network and grow. It is about inspiring each other. It is such a wonderful thing to be a part of! Rob, you're absolutely wonderful! I'm so grateful to be a part of this! Thank you for this opportunity!

Slouchy Chic for a Grey Day...

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing a more subdued look. Something a bit more comfy and casual. It is November and it is beginning to get cooler out although I'm so glad it didn't jump STRAIGHT to cold weather! I'm sure I have said this before, but it felt like we actually had a really nice fall this year. It has been cool in the mornings and evenings, and pleasant during the day. I for one have been loving it!

But this weekend was a little on the dreary side. Kind of cloudy and some rain here and there. So while it was clear, I got some pictures in! I love how comfortable and cozy this look is! This slouchy Shein sweater is actually a two-piece set. It came with a wool pencil skirt as well. But I have enjoyed pairing it with other skirts, shorts, and pants.

This look was a pretty easy one to pull off. The colors all work together well. The bag adds a bit of excitement. The sneakers are comfortable and easy to walk around in while taking pictures. Since its been kind of a rainy week, my heels tend to sink down in the ground when I try to take pictures in them. This is when sneakers are a life savor!

What do you guys think!? I hope you enjoy it and I hope you have a great week! Next post will be a special post, telling you all about my time at The Honey Comb Experience! So stay tuned!

A Pleather Story...

Hey all and Happy Friday!

This has felt like the longest week to me. But tonight is going to be a great night! Tonight I'm ending out the work week by heading to The Honey Comb Experience! It is hosted by my friend, Rob 'Reasons' Brown. I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but Rob always comes through! I'll be able to share more with you in future posts, but for now onto today's look!

I was completely out of ideas earlier this week. So I just started pairing things together. I must have gone through at least three different pairings that I wasn't crazy about, when I came across this one. And to be honest, I didn't really think that I would like it that much. But I was pleasantly surprised when I loved it! The pleather on pleather look is what made me think to style it. Just on a whim. I actually thought it might be a bit too much, but this is why I experiment. What's the worst that can happen? You don't like it and move on to something else.

But you can also be pleasantly surprised!

I think the little hints of gold really cinch the look for me as well. The bracelets, the bag, the belt, and the necklace are subtle but really bring the look together.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more from The Honey Comb Experience!

XOXO

Day to Night Look...

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing with you a two-way post. A day to night post.

So for the first I kept it pretty simple. All black, I mixed prints a little. The prints on the shoes and the stripes on the bag. It is fun, but also casual. Perfect for a casual day look! Running errands or a lunch date -whatever you want!

But, if you want to dress it up, just throw on some tights and add heels! What a different look! A perfect date night look!

What do you guys think?

Color Blocking Fun...

Hey all! And happy Friday!

So, I'm still not 100% myself. I'm getting there though! I have the best friends! I swear I do! I got  a great hug from one great friend! My parents also are great! My mom has sent me hug memes all week and it really has helped make me smile. I had a friend that got me the most beautiful earrings just because she thought I would like them!

That is the thing my friends. We have to appreciate the small and beautiful moments. They are there! They bring us together. I'm a praying for a change right now. My vote was for all of the residents we lost. For the nurses and Cnas who got sick. And for the ones who came in and worked long hours, took care of the people we all care about and who are someone's family. They kept them safe and were comforting to them. I will respect them forever.

BUT I will remain positive and hopeful as we wait this election.

On to today's post. I'm sharing a color block dress from Nastygal. This is such a great casual look. So easy to pull off. What do you guys think?

Hey there and Happy Monday!

Guys, I'm not sure what to say. Of course vote tomorrow! Your voice matters!

This look is a simple look. And really what I want this post to most be about is that we are in this together. Whatever ends up happening, I'm still going to post blogs. I still want to encourage hope. I really do. I want to keep people hopeful!
