Mixing Patterns to Match My Mood(s)...

Hello all!

I apologize for my lack of posts lately! As it turns out I am technology challenged much of the time and have found that trying to work from other computers is not always easy! BUT I finally got it today! AND good news, my laptop should be back soon! Yay!

Now, on to today's post! I LOVE this look for a few reasons. I actually had a different skirt in mind initially. But as I was going to reach for it, this particular skirt called out to me, and I just knew I had the exact look I wanted. I have been in a mood the last few days. Even more frustrating it is one of those situations where there is very little I can actually do about it at the moment. I have to deal. But I have decided that instead of letting that frustration simmer and eat away at me, I was going to channel it into something positive.

This outfit (for me) is a manifestation of that. The daring mix of patterns that match my contemplative and sometimes conflicting thoughts. The bold statement necklace which oozes confidence. And that small pop of red that completes the look.

Great things are coming, I can feel it! =)

Thanks for reading and allowing me to vent. Thanks always for being on this journey with me!

Hello all!

I hope everyone is doing well and I apologize for my lack of posts lately. Sadly my laptop is in the shop. =( The good news is I have a warranty on it so it will be fixed for no charge, BUT I won't get in back until Feb 4th. So in the meantime I am having to improvise and use my parents computer. (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

Today's pairing is a fun one for me. So often in the winter, especially when it is really cold as it has been here lately, I tend to avoid skirts/dresses. But I hate it because there is still ways to wear them and still keep warm. This is a fun look. Relatively simply, but still stylish and warm. The quilted skirt and the long-sleeved white tee (all of 'The Office' fans out there might appreciate that reference!) are lovely together, but the wrap vest adds additional texture.

It was another chance to show off my beloved, LOFT pea coat! It goes so beautiful with this outfit! Its such a beautiful piece in general (again, thank you Mom and Dad!) And of course a Versona clutch, because... why not?! ;)

Thanks for reading and being patient with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday!! =)

Happy Wednesday!

I have some sad news, I think this will be the last time you see this particular leather jacket. =( Sadly, it has seen better days. Although you cannot tell in the pictures (I hope) its' age is beginning to show (lots of tears.) BUT to be fair, I found it a thrift shop and it was used then, but it held out and gave me a few very warm and stylish years!

So, RIP (pun not intended but gladly welcomed!) dear friend, I will miss you terribly!

This dress is so cute to me! It is some comfy, unique, the pleats add charm and character, and I LOVE the plum color! =)

I am having a pretty great week so far, I hope you are as well! Thank you so much for reading and stay well!

XOXO

Hello and Happy Monday!

I apologize for not post yesterday as I had said on Friday. I planned on it however, Sunday I was feeling awful a good part of the day and time got away from me.

Hopefully, today's post will make up for it.

Today I tried a layering trick that I actually learned from another blogger! I layered a faux leather jacket under a trench vest. It photographs really nicely, and looks like a coat! The draping of the trench vest is perfect for the temperature today, while the faux leather coat keeps my core warm. I used a graphic tee, a leopard print scarf, and distressed jeans to keep the look casual.

But it does create a unique, casual look, which I love!

Jennifer did an amazing job with the pics! I'm so impressed with how they came out! I really like the ones where she took the pic through the stair railing, its such a unique look! =)

Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoy!

Grey Skies and a Casual Friday...

Hello and Happy Friday,

Although if I'm being honest, although it is Friday and today has been a very pleasant day, the weather (I guess) has me feeling a little... tired? I've just felt like curling up with a good book or good movie and having a lazy day, all day. It also has me thinking of something I want to share in a post -possibly on Sunday.

But on to today's post! In sync with the feel of the day, I took it easy with distressed jeans, a plain white tee, leopard print scarf, and Chinese Laundry flats. I LOVE Chinese Laundry! Especially these flats! I love flats, sure they are chic and look great on most people, but at 5ft even, I would prefer to spent money on heels! However, for just out and about flats do come in handy. And these Chinese Laundry flats and adorable! =) I love the pointy toed look of them!

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for a Sunday post! =)

God bless!

Happy Hump Day!

Hope your week is going well so far! For today's post, it is all about another chic way to stay warm! Nothing beats boots, especially not red boots! And of course you can't go wrong with a heavy scarf and faux leather jacket! =)

Luna accompanied me for several of these shots but she didn't love it because she kept getting distracted by passing squirrels, leaves that would blow by, and the occasional other dog that walked by us.

So we retreated inside. But while we were out we had fun!

Thanks for reading!

Hello my beautiful friends! =) Happy Monday!

After spending Christmas in shorts, It is finally starting to feel like winter here in the QC! Thank God too! I got this AMAZING Loft leopard print peacoat for Christmas (thanks Mom and Dad!) and I was just itching to wear it!

I LOVE the colors of this outfit and the coat especially. It is so classic looking, it is warm, and it has a great fit! I really like how the beige sweater and the lace stand out against the darker hues of the coat and jeans.

I wanted to talk about resolutions for a moment. I love and hate New Years. Its a fun night, its a new start where we all resolve to become better versions of ourselves, which is a good thing! However, for me, I start out with strong ambition. I want to eat healthier, pay off bills, work out more, become more organized... you know how it goes. But I eventually overwhelm myself to the point where I have no idea how to even get started. SO, this year I have decided that instead of making resolutions in January for the whole year, I will make several small, specific, and achievable resolutions each month. That way hopefully I will be able to see progress.

Some of my resolutions for January: eat healthier (incorporating more/different fruits and veggies and drink more water), work out more regularly. I want to get a new camera (maybe) that is a little better and can take videos as well. Also, of course, I want to get more organized! ;)

What are some of your resolutions? For the month or for the year? I'd love to hear them!

Thanks for reading!

Versona Collaboration...

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had an great night!

Back in November, I was fortunate enough to be able to partner with Versona, in the Arboretum (for those of you here in Charlotte). For anyone who does not know, Versona is a sister store of Cato and caters to women's fashion and accessories. There are several locations across the country. Needless to say I was (and am) very excited about the partnership!

Jen and I went for our first in-store shoot on Wednesday morning. I woke up promptly at 5:30am. We were not planning on leaving until 9:30. I may or may not have been a bit excited/nervous. Well after spending the morning showering, getting ready, and anxiously waiting for Jen to arrive, we were finally ready to go. Cue the rain. It was pouring! However we weathered the storm and made it to Versona right on time. Well, early actually. We ended up waiting in the car for twenty minuets before they opened. Cue the humidity and the frizzing of our hair.

But rain, frizzy hair, and nerves aside, we were able to do the shoot. The ladies at Versona were really sweet and accommodating. My number one choice for this shoot was this GORGEOUS, black and white gown. It is so amazing! I felt like a celebrity while wearing it. I felt like this dress somehow encompasses my hopes for the new year and for this partnership. In that spirit I decided that while we got a few good shots in-store, I might kick off this year by showing you some of my favorite Versona pieces. I narrowed it down to five pieces for the sake of keeping this post to an appropriate length. These pieces are versatile and classic, that is the beauty of Versona. They have stand out pieces like this dress, they have casual pieces for every day. And they have lots of accessories, jewelry, shoes, and more! Take a look, enjoy, and thank you so much for reading!  And a huge thank you to Versona for partnering with me for this post! Looking forward to future collaborations! =)
