Crisp Colors: Royal Purple and Electric Blue...

Happy be-lated Thanksgiving!!

I hope everyone had a great day and had lots of good food! I did! Maybe a little too much good food!  But it was nice! I got to relax, I got to spend time with my family and my friends, and -again- eat! I have so much to be thankful for!

It is finally starting to feel like November (sort of). We had a few days where it was really chilly! It was perfect to break out my royal purple, peacoat, paired with a bright blue scarf. I love the contrast of the colors. The blue is so electric against the deep purple of the coat! I just couldn't resist the pairing.

Equally unique, was the leopard sweater I wore as well. I think I found it at a thrift shop years ago and truth be told, I tend to wear it with leggings for around the house or running errands. I like the look of it a lot. Its just so cute!

Hope you are having a great week so far! Enjoy those great sales today! Have a great weekend!

Hello my friends!

I hope you are all well! And I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Given that it is Thanksgiving week, all Christmas madness is about to ensue, ironic isn't it? Anyway, I am getting into my holiday spirit early! For me the holidays mean many things; good sales, crowded stores, good food, and (my favorite part) dressing up! =)

One of the easiest ways to instantly dress up a holiday outfit is with these GORGEOUS Giselle Drop earrings from Lou Lou Boutique. They are stunning and light (I was a little afraid they might be heavy, but they aren't!) They make me feel so glamorous every time I wear them!

They are they perfect for any occasion! They contrast harmoniously against the lace LOFT blouse and navy blue Versona blazer. But imagine the possibilities! Christmas dresses, New Year's party attire, even distressed boyfriend jeans! ;) They are stunning pieces! I adore them!

A big thank you to Lou Lou Boutique for collaborating with me on this post!

If you are interested you can find the Giselle Drop earrings on www.loulouboutiques.com as well as many other amazing pieces as well! You can enjoy 10% off using the code: DCBLOGGERS10. Maybe find the perfect accessory for that Christmas outfit or the perfect Christmas present, who knows!

Check them out for sure! And as always thank you so much for reading!

XOXO

Color Blocking: Pleated H&M Skirt, Beige Sweater....

Hello and TGIF!

It has been a whirlwind week for me, lots of interesting and potentially exciting things coming up -but I will get to that in a moment.

I love the use of color blocking in the outfits. I especially love this H&M skirt. The distinct separation between the two colors is simple and refreshing, and I love that the two colors are from the same color family. The simplicity of the whole outfit is refreshing. The pleats in the skirt add a little extra dimension and texture.

This week has been interesting to say the least. It started on Monday when I was feeling a but overwhelmed and uninspired. One of those days where I wondered if I was getting in over my head in all honesty. But by Wednesday I was feeling better and then yesterday a number of great things happened!

I got some good news about a potentially future collaboration. A friend who I don't speak to very often unfortunately, texted me to tell me she had launched her YouTube channel. That was inspiring because that is my next step, venturing on to YouTube. It is something that I am very nervous about and have been dragging my feet as a result. But hopefully she and I will be able to talk or even work together soon. But I took it to be a very inspirational sign!

And finally, I went to an anniversary party at Lotus Boutique in Charlotte last night. Lotus Boutique is a very trendy boutique in uptown Charlotte. My mother went with me and we had a great time! We shopped, had champagne, ran into a friend I had not seen in months, and chatted with lots of different people. I met another blogger, the store owner, a singer, and I bought some great pieces (I cannot wait to share with you!)

Needless to say, I am very excited about what the future holds!

Thanks for being on this journey with me and thanks for reading! =)

Layering and Pattern Play...

Hello!

Wanted to drop in for a quick post! Today I played with layers and patterns. I layered a LOFT sweater over a paisley printed shirt (Forever 21). The deep colors of the olive jeans and the dark blue in the sweater really make the printed top pop. I opted for the Charles David polka dot heels to compliment the pattern in the blouse.

And of course an extra pop of color with the Versona clutch! =)

Thanks for reading as always!

Casual Friday with an Inspirational Graphic Tee...

Hello and Happy Friday!

Today's post is a little shorter than others, but its' Friday! I kept things casual with a textured, ruffled skirt (Forever 21) and an inspirational graphic tee (Versona). I love shirts like this. Graphic tees are fun and creative ways to add a playful element to an ensemble. They are even better when they are inspiration, like this one! I'm a firm believe in the power of the mind. In fact there are many books about the "laws of attraction."

It was one of those things that just makes sense to me. This shirt reminds me of that. It also makes me want to work harder for things that I want. It also makes me reflect on how far I have come. When I do I realize how much I have to be thankful for!

Thank you so much for reading as always! Have a great weekend!

Hello Ladies: The Coobie Bra...

Hello ladies!

I want to emphasize ladies because I have some great news! We all know the importance of a good, well-fitting bra; it lifts, it is supportive, it is comfy, it can really make a difference in the way that clothes fit/look on you. But finding that perfect bra is sometimes like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Lord knows I have a hard time finding a good bra. Which is why I was very intrigued by the Coobie bra. It was gifted to me by Fresh Boutique -a stylish boutique here in the QC! And I was very excited. When it arrived, I was not sure what to make of it.

It is advertised as "the most comfortable bra." It has the look and similar fit of a sports bra (it fits over your head as opposed to the clasps of mosts bras.) I can attest that is most definitely comfortable. It literally feels like nothing is there.

In fact, it took me a few days to really get used to it. Being heavier chested, I am used to bras with underwire, which of course help support. The Coobie bra has no underwire. Yet it is still supportive. Granted, I would not wear it out to go for a run or to the gym. But for running errands or just going out casually, day-to-day, I really enjoy this bra! Bear in mind though, if you are heavier chested (and even if you aren't) it may take a little getting used to. It really is unlike most bras in that respect, but it is worth it in my opinion!

Also check out Fresh Boutique! If you are in the Charlotte area they are located on Providence Rd. They also have an online site, and they have a lot of great pieces that I have fallen in love with and I'm sure you will too!

Let me know what you think! =)

Thanks for reading!

Sophisticated Chic and Pictures to Share...

Hello all!

It is another dreary Monday here in the QC, I am very ready to see the sun again! The rain is putting a bit of a damper on my blog shoots and hair. :(

But we are having some cooler weather! It is finally starting to feel like fall/November!

It was finally cool enough I could break out this chic ensemble. I love the look of the a sweater over a button down. It has a very sophisticated feel to it. This particular look is easy to style as well (bonus!) I wore the top with jeans and leopard print heels last night to church for a more casual-yet-still-chic look. However, pairing it with leggings and Gisele, over lay booties, takes it to another level!

Before I close, I wanted to share pictures from the party I attended on Saturday night with Jennifer (yes, the same Jennifer who takes those amazing blog pictures for me!) It was the grand opening party for Advent Co-Working, a business founded by a friend of mine, Ryan. Basically it is a place where people to come, work, interact with other people of similar interests, and/or host events. It is an impressive place! It has a very modern, industrial feel to it, with fabulous décor (Jennifer and I coveted one light fixture in particular!) It has stunning art work, white boards with prompts to encouraging guests to add their thoughts too (which Jen and I jumped at). There was good food, good drinks, really interesting people, live music, and even a swing!

Congrats Ryan! And now I feel as though I need to go get started on something productive ;). Check out the pictures and thanks as always, for reading! =)

Restyling 1, 2, 3... The Chaus New York Blazer!

11/8/2015

Hello all!

Just wanted to drop by for a quick post! You might remember, last Sunday I started a new segment to my blog: Restyling 1, 2, 3... which I will continue today! Now I could not very well do a restyling segment without mentioning one of my all time favorite pieces; the Chaus New York blazer!

I actually found this particular blazer at a thrift shop here in the QC and since then it has become a beloved staple in my closet! It has made numerous appearances on here because it is such a comfortable, chic, and versatile piece. It does not have quite the same structured fit as most blazers, instead it has a looser fit. I personally think the ruching of the sleeves add a little extra character, and the bright pop of red instantly enhances every look!

I  actually just wore it out last night to a business launch party -which I will be sharing with you in tomorrow's post!

These are just a few of the ways I have restyled this blazer, but there are others! I'm sure this bad boy will be making many, many more appearances in the future! ;)

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a great weekend!

Distressed Boyfriend Jeans and Layering Necklaces...

Hello and Happy Friday!

On this dreary Friday I decided to go casual. The best way to do that is with boyfriend jeans! I opted for distressed, Mossimo boyfriend jeans (on sale by the way!) and a loose fitting, Forever 21 blouse. I love this look for so many reasons. Its an effortless look that looks good on just about every body type -though if you are short like me, I recommend wearing heels with this pairing. But more importantly, it is comfy! =)

I also played with necklace pairings. I have been experimenting with layering necklaces lately, and I experimented again today. I layered two statement necklaces; a Sophia and Kate collard, drop-down necklace and a Sophia and Kate embellished necklace. I was surprised at how much I loved this pairing! I initially just wanted to see what it would look like, not expecting much. However, I loved the look! Its' looked like these two pieces were meant for each other! It dresses up this causal ensemble considerably. Using the peek-a-boo effect, I personally thing it adds a little more detail to the outfit and does not take away from the rest of the ensemble.

Even on this dreary, rainy Friday I am very excited. For a few reasons. I have a few days off from my full time job -which I am planning to use to organize my apartment and focus on this -my blog! Also tomorrow I am attending a business launch party, which I cannot wait to share with you! =) There are several more reasons I have to be excited and happy, which is perfect for November (and every day really).

This month in particular, I have made it a priority to think of things that I am thankful for. I wake up thinking of things I am thankful for and when I get frustrated, I recite this list. I have found that it does help me calm down or feel inspired.

What are you thankful for? Feel free to let me know!

Thank you for reading! Have a great day!

Hello my beautiful friends!

Today's post is all about coordinating colors! Different shades of blues and pinks! I love the contrast that you get when you pair similar colors together. I chose a blue plaid GAP scarf and blue Versona cross body bag. I also paired a pink, long-sleeved t-shirt and maroon heels!

What do you think!? Feel free to let me know!

I hope you are doing well!!

XOXO
