The Skirt with Endless Possibilities!

Hey everyone!

Happy Monday to you! I hope everyone is doing well!

This is another fun look that I am sharing with you today. And part 3 -I think- of my shopping trip to Reclectic with my Aunt. The piece in question is the skirt. It was an instant yes for me! I really like plaid as a print for one thing. I find it to be an easy print to style. It has a very casual feel to it.

I'm also drawn to the colors of this skirt, the blue and white spoke to me for some reason. I completed the look with striped socks, a chain belt, and a casual, graphic tee.

I am also partial to the uneven hem! It is a smaller detail, but one that adds quite a bit of interest to the look.

I don't have many pieces with this kind of hem, so it stood out to me. I think it has a lot of potential styling wise.

Case and point; this look is kind of an elevated casual look, but with cowboy boots and hat and a gingham peasant top and you are concert ready!

With a swimsuit underneath or bikini top and open button down, you are ready for a day on the lake!

In the fall, paired with boots and an oversized blazer -blue would be idea!- and turtleneck! Or a crewneck sweatshirt, tall socks, and loafers for a more preppy look!?

Something tells me I will have fun styling this skirt.... =D

A Fairy Tale Dress...

Hello all! Happy Friday!

Today I have the most beautiful, butter yellow dress! It is so romantic and whimsical, it reminds me of a fairy tale of sorts. The puff at the top of the sleeves and the bell sleeves really emphasize the fairytale aspect.

Despite the long sleeves, it is lightweight and still a great summer dress!

My favorite thing about the dress is how easy it is to style. The colorful choker really stands out against the yellow of the dress. I actually wanted to find a turquoise necklace to go with the dress, to make it have more of a tropical getaway feel. While I am on the hunt for one however, this colorful choker did the trick!

But I was especially thrilled with how impactful the chain belt was! It was such a small added piece but it really makes such a difference! It adds a bit of interest without overwhelming the dress.

The Swim Trend: Swimsuit as a Bodysuit?!

Hella all!

I have a fun fit for you today! To kick off the week! It's very much on the casual side and specifically styled to combat the heat. BUT here's a twist!

I am styling a swimsuit as a body suit!

I got the idea from watching one of my favorite vloggers, Chelseaasoflate, wearing some swimwear as a whole look. Granted, when she did it, she was actually at a beach! Most of her looks were beachy themed looks that transitioned from the beach to lunch, or whatever else she did that day. But the point is that it gave me the idea!

And then about the same time I went on my shopping spree with my aunt, I found this swimsuit at Walmart, and it called to me!

The vibrant yellow color! The white trim! I knew immediately how I wanted to style this swimsuit! With these camo shorts of course! And it worked perfectly!

To complete the look, I added a woven bucket hat, tie-up sandals, and of course this cute printed, bamboo bag!

Now, I just need to get to the beach!

Thank you all for reading! I hope you enjoyed this styling! I will be back on Wednesday with a new video for you!

Hope you have a great week ahead! =D

Hello my friends!

Happy Monday to you! I hope everyone is doing well!

I have another fun look to share with you today! It is part 3 -I think- of my shopping trip to Reclectic with my aunt. This skirt was an immediate yes for me once I saw it. First of all, I am really big on plaid! I feel like it is a pretty easy print to style, mainly because it very casual.

Case and point, today's look, I styled it with striped socks, a chain belt, and a simple, graphic tee.

I am also very partial to the uneven hem!

I don't have very many pieces with this kind of hem, and it makes for a more interesting look! It is small, simple details that can catch my eye, when searching for new pieces. It can make such a difference when going to style it. For example, this look I would call casual/chic. Or an elevated, casual look. But imagine it with cowboy boots and hat, and white gingham, peasant top! Concert ready easily!

Or with a bikini top and open button down, perfect for a day at the lake!

Or boots and an oversized blue blazer, you are fall ready!

Even a crewneck sweatshirt, socks, and loafers would be a cute, preppy look!

Something tells me I am going to have a fun time styling this piece.... =D

Heatwave: Bright, Bold Colors!

Hello all! I am finally back in business!

Sort of!

I got a new camera and am having a little trouble getting used to using it as you can probably tell.

I apparently shot on the wrong setting as a lot of these pictures are a little on the blurry side. I did not realize it though until I had uploaded them and was working on editing them. So, I made do with what I had. Bear with me a little longer!
Picture

In other news, it has been HOT AF lately! Omg!

I guess it is not really news perse, but it has been making dressing a little more challenging. But y'all know I like a challenge!

This look perfectly encapsulates summer in my humble opinion. The bright colors, the pieces themselves, and the lovely sunburn on my shoulders! And the best part? This look -aside from the bag- cost all of $4! Every piece is one that I already owned, except the shorts are new but thrifted!

The crop top I got two summers ago, and have in several colors, they have come in clutch the last few summers! And continue to do so! The scarf was a gift for my birthday from my aunt, I was attempting to tie it around my head but having trouble with it, so, on a whim, I tied it around my waist and loved how it looked!
Picture

The shorts are actually men's shorts! I love the longer shorts look but I have had trouble finding them myself. So, I went thrifting one day and looked in the men's section. I figured the price was right for trying them out and I went for it. I'm so glad I did! I have a few ideas for other ways to style them already, but this is my favorite so far!

And as if there were not enough colors present, I decided to add in a touch of yellow with the kitten heels and the Kate Spade bag! Listen, I'm a big believer in the go big, or go home saying! ;D

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy and I will see you again on Monday!

Have a great, safe weekend!

Simple Summer Dress and a Night of Tina Turner!

Hello all! Happy Friday!

Today I am sharing this super cute and breezy, summer dress from LOFT with you!

I love a dress that is comfy AND functional! In this heat, I need a piece to be stylish and breathable! This dress is just that! The design of the dress is so chic! The ruching detail and drop hem are dynamite details!

And it being sleeveless, the semi open back, and side cutouts make it breathable! Although I still sweated a good bit!
Picture
I wore this dress out to see Tina the Musical! last Wednesday!

What an experience! I knew very little about Tina Turner going into it. I knew some of her music -though I actually knew a lot more than I realized, I just did not know that was her!- but this told the story of her life. Her journey was not an easy one, but she was a tough lady! She persevered through poverty, abuse, rejection, and struggling to live paycheck-to-paycheck before making it really big in her 40s.

Tina never seemed to loose her sense of humor, and kindness though faced with so many challenges. She seemed to face things head on. She found friendship in the most unlikely places as well! It had me moved to tears at time!

The story was wonderfully acted out. The costumes were incredible! There were really fun dresses for various performances throughout her career and you guys know, I was pumped about them!

The lady who played Tina Turner was incredible! At the end of the show, she performed two more songs as an encore and half the time she was performing, I forgot that it was not actually Tina Turner! She was truly such a mesmerizing and talented woman!

If you guys ever get the chance to see that musical, I would highly recommend that you go! It will leave you dancing and feeling inspired for days afterwards!

Playful Chic: Fun with Accessories!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today I have a fun look to begin the week! I had a lot of fun styling this look! Though I will admit, it is probably better suited for early Spring or Fall than June -when it is HOT! The socks in particular had me burning up while shooting this look!

But it is still a really fun look!
Picture
Picture
It began with me wanting to style the top. I have never had a top with a peter pan collar, like this, so it is a bit of new territory for me. I had an idea, but when that didn't work out, I was looking for another idea.

I also wanted to style the socks with the kitten heels. Right away, I loved that pairing!  Then, on a whim, I styled it with this lace skirt.

I think my first though was 'well.... I don't hate it!' and thus, a seed was planted!

I played around with several different chain belts and finally settled on this layered look!

And to complete the look? The Kate Spade taxi cab bag! It was the PERFECT touch!
Picture
Picture
Picture
It is a unique and playful look! The white-on-white base is a great canvas to style. Not too many colors are involved, which I personally think keeps it from being too much, as well as the minimal use of accessories.

Now I just need somewhere to wear it! I'm sure I can find something.... ;D

Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful week ahead!

Its All in the Details....

Hello all and Happy early birthday to me!!

My birthday is Sat and I will be celebrating all weekend! My plans are to go roller skating -I know I am reliving my childhood! And then just hanging out with my family and taking it easy. Then Sunday, I'll have an actual birthday dinner with my whole family! And maybe next week I'll do dinner with a few friends!

My friend -who's birthday is in July- treated ourselves to an early birthday treat by going to see Tina the Musical last night! That was a spectacular show! I'll tell you about it on Monday!
Picture

Today's look is one of my all time favorites!

Why, you ask?

Well for one thing, it is comfortable and not overly fussy. The button down is very light weight and oversized, so plenty of room to move around or hide issues like bloating or a little extra poundage! But it still has that summer-vibe about it.

And secondly, it has a lot of small details that really come together! I layered a pearl necklace with a charm necklace, which I found to be a playful combination -and I never really thought I would describe pearls as playful! The charm necklace and the overall casual feel of the look, kind of dresses the pearls down for a unique look.

I personally also love the tiny bits of gold embellishments etched in the whole look. The gold floral embellishments on the shirt, the hints of gold in the necklaces, the gold chain belt, and the gold, sparkly heels. It is small amounts of gold all the way town, that all come together and anchor the look!

I sometimes see a look and really study it, all of the small details that come together to bring it to life. I'll then use that inspiration to recreate the look but put my own spin on it. Those are the things that bring me such joy! And I hope I can help bring you that same joy by sharing my thought process when styling.

Or if you need or want me to style you! Feel free to reach out to me on IG (@reaganinmyownworld) and DM me! Id love to connect!

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend and stay safe!

Chicago Part 2: The Color Factory...

6/8/2025

Hello and welcome back!

I'm back to my Chicago content part 2! The second and full day in the city was pretty busy! Our first stop was The Color Factory which was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had!

It was room after room of immersive experiences involving color! One room was very animated with tons of places to pose and take pictures and tons of mirrors that gave it a maze-like effect. Another room featured colorful horns that made noise when you moved in front of it, so with a group of people it made a lot of cool music. Yet another featured balloons that were suspended in the air by air holes in the floor.
Picture
Picture
That room was probably one of my favorites! It felt so happy! It was impossible to not have a good time in that room!

In fact, most of the rooms felt happy, but I suppose that one had an added burst of joy in it! And of course, there was the ball pit!

I have not been in a ball pit since I was a kid at McDonald's or Chuck E Cheeze! It is HARD to wade through a ball pit! It felt similar to walking in water, except I'd argue it was a bit harder. At least water moves around your body, the balls you had to step on or around! But it was such fun!

It felt like I was reliving my childhood!

The final part of our trip was a river boat tour of the architecture in Chicago.

I really did enjoy the architecture of the city. Many buildings had very distinct looks and character to them as opposed to a skyline of buildings that all look the same. It really made the city so beautiful. And The river itself was so beautiful! I enjoyed walking around the city. My only gripe was that the way people were happy to lay on their horns in the city! Chill out, would you?!

I was so proud of myself for this trip! For planning it, booking it, not chickening out, then navigating the city relatively well! (I may have gotten turned around a time or two, but nothing terrible!)

Chicago, you were a dream! Thanks for having me!

I'll be back, don't you worry! =D

The Dream Team: White and Silver for the Win!

Before I continue with my Chicago content, I want to take a moment to tell you about The Carolina Fashion Awards I attended last Saturday!

It was my first time, and I went with a friend of mine, Nira of Nira Loves Fashion Boutique, who was nominated for boutique of the year. It was a good time! Everyone looked so stunning all dressed up! The theme this year was 'Give Us Space' and it is always interesting to me to see how everyone interprets themes.

There were a lot of sculptural embellished gowns, a lot of sequins and metallics. Funky sunglasses! Head pieces! My girl, Nira, arrived with two models- Mary and Chanell- and they were DECKED OUT! Oversized, silver boots, headpieces, chain fringe, and spiked sunglasses! They all looked phenomenal!
Picture
Picture
This was my look! It was very much a last minuet look!

I was not sure almost up until the day of, if I would be going or not. My original look was metallic pink trousers, with a sheer black body suit. I had to drop it off at my tailor before Chicago, and when I went to pick it up Friday morning, they were not quite ready. So, I had to decide on a back-up.

Thankfully, this idea had occurred to me. I loved how the dress, heels, and jacket paired together. I knew I wanted to pair the chain belt with it too. But when I put it on, it... lacked a bit. On a whim, I paired the pearl belt with it too. It was exactly what the look needed! A little extra texture and interest, but still dainty enough to not be overkill!
Picture

The whole night was a great time! I saw several familiar faces, met some new friends, celebrated everyone's wins!

Guys, Nira won in her category! The whole room erupted with applause and cheers when her name was called out! Chanell, one of the models, also won big! Model of the year! It was such a joyful night!

Thanks for reading! And congratulations to all of the winners! It was well deserved!
