Hello and Happy Friday!

I just have a quick post I want to share with you today!

But what it lacks in length it makes up for in style!

Today's styling is a simple and oh-so comfortable look! And aside from the shoes, the whole look is from Target!

I found this romper a few days ago and wanted to try it on a whim. I'm not always 100% comfortable with a piece fitting me this tightly, but for some reason I was thinking of several ways I could potentially style it.

This was the first idea I had. throwing a white button down over top of it and pairing my new, beloved straw bag with the look.

I loved the way it turned out!

The button down helps me feel a bit more comfortable wearing this piece as I feel it hides some of my -ahem- flaws... xD. But the romper itself is really comfortable as well! Its a great look for the summer though, breezy and comfy!

And maybe as the summer goes on I will feel more confident to wear it on its own! Who knows!

Also, I don't know if you guys have noticed or not, but I have been trying to play around more with angles as far as the pictures go. Mainly I have tried shooting at an upwards angle. I think you may see in some of my future posts. I have really begun to make it a constant effort when I'm out shooting. I personally love how it switches things up a bit.

It can be extremely time consuming though, which is why you probably will not see it in every post, just a majority of them!

Thanks so much for reading and let me know what you think!

Have a great and safe weekend ahead! =)

Out and About: At the Festival of India...

Hello and welcome back!

Today I am sharing with you a festival I attended recently! It was the Festival of India!

It was held in downtown Matthews, and it was a blast! I am so glad I was able to make it! When I arrived it was in the afternoon and there was already a sizable crowd gathered. Right away, I felt immersed in the culture.

There was Indian music blasting, dancers performing on stage, delicious smells from the food vendors, and beautiful/colorful sarees everywhere I looked!

It was a little hard to decide where to begin first, so I just headed to see the performers first and then meandered around the various vendors set up.

There were tons!

One in particular was a Henna tattoo table set up, I really wanted to get one! Unfortunately, time did not permit, but they were gorgeous designs! And reasonable in price (roughly $3 to $12).

I also really enjoyed looking at the artwork on display. Much like the clothing, the artwork was full of color and featured many deities and animals. I saw several paintings of peacocks, which happen to be one of my favorite animal. After a little research I found that in Indian culture, peacocks symbolize 'wealth and grandeur.' In Hinduism, they also represent immortality and ressurection.

Other vendors featured saree draping and turban wrapping, which I got to watch a bit of.

There were also different tables set up selling jewelry and clothing, all of which were beautifully made and full of bright colors and designs!

And the last thing I checked out was the food vendors! I LOVE Indian food! It is so incredibly flavorful! And unique flavors at that! I got the tandoori chicken -after much deliberation- I cannot even put into words how good it was! It was spicy but not too spicy, it had a curry flavor that I personally love, and it came with some kind of sauce, that also had a bit of a kick to it!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Festival of India! And I cannot wait to go back next year!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post as well!

See you Friday! =D

Hello and Happy Monday!

I am actually so glad the weekend is over! I know that probably sounds crazy to most of you, but I tend to work most weekends and while I do not usually mind it, this weekend was a little rough. I feel like I maybe either coming down with a cold or (hopefully) it is just my allergies messing with me.

Either way I was really tired and not feeling one-hundred percent. So I am looking forward to sleeping in a bit and resting up!

On to today's look!

This is a look that I wore to a afternoon fashion show a few weeks ago. It ended up being the perfect dress for the event, and bonus points, it is very comfortable as well!

I know I say this a lot (or I feel like I do) but it screams 'summer!' to me! From the two colors to the strapless design, and the small cut out in the front. It really is a perfect summer dress! What really sells it on the perfect summer look, is the straw bag that I found to go with it!

I feel like straw bags are always a great summer staple, and this one is no different! Except that it has pearls! =D

Years ago, long before this blog, I had a straw bag that was so stinkin perfect! It was solid, structured, and had a lot of colors.

That bag has been on my mind a lot lately, I have had several outfit ideas that I thought it would be perfect with! This one included. That is what had me on a mission to find a similar one.

And this one is a damn good replacement!

So, big news!

Next month I am heading to Seattle for a weekend! I cannot wait! It will be my first time there and my number one goal is to see the Space Needle! I have been wanting to do this for a long time now, and it is finally happening! I am so excited! This entire look is probably going to be going with me! (I will have more packing content as the time gets closer!)

In the mean time, if any of you have ever been to Seattle, can you give me some recommendations for things to do while I'm there!?

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all have a great week ahead! =D

Hey all! Happy Friday!

I hope you have all had a great week so far! We finally made it to the weekend!

And today has been the most beautiful day! It was gorgeous outside and the temperatures were perfect! I was comfortable all day long! And it was a busy day full of getting looks shot and videos filmed.

Just a quick post for today!

I really love the look of the high-waisted, paper bag shorts paired with the looser, slouchier fit of the boyfriend button down, but it seemed so basic.

Like something I have already styled before (I probably have!)

I started brainstorming how I could dress it up.

I landed on layering pearl necklaces together! It is a look that I have done before and love always!

It also aligned perfectly with the Met Gala theme! ;)

Fashion Inspo: The 2023 Met Gala!

Hello and welcome to my special Met Gala post!

Fashion's biggest night! And this year it was better than ever! At least in my opinion!

Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty was the theme of the evening and it seemed that damn near everyone understood the assignment!

It was a night full of beautiful, couture gowns! Tons of pearls and flowers! Many, Many monochromatic looks! Loads of texture! Many feminine meets edgy stylings. And of course, in true Lagerfeld style, lots of shades!
Picture
Picture
Thom Browne was one of the standout designers of the night in my opinion! Soi Choi, in the very first picture, is a prime example of one of his knockout designs of the night. Other stars he dressed included: Jenna Ortega, Janelle Monae, Pusha T, Trevor Noah, and Teanna Taylor (just to name a few). I included a group photo of many of the stars who wore Thom Browne below!

Christian Siriano was another designer that really hit it out of the park! In particular one of my favorite looks was worn by Ava Max, who's custom gown featured 6,000 pearls and crystals!

All of the pictures I included were looks I absolutely loved! Kendall Jenner always crushes everything! Especially the Met Gala! And this year was no exception! Teanna Taylor looked like a boss in a menswear inspired gown and Anok Yai looked STUNNING in that gown! The color against her skin is breathtaking!

Lizzo looked so beautiful in her gown, draped in pearls! Amanda Seyfried (pictured down below) holy smoke show! She looked SO gorgeous! Easily one of my favorite looks of the night! The dress, the hair, and the make-up was on point!

And to end off this post, it was fun to see several celebrities re-wear gowns that they had wore previously. Nicole Kidman and Gisele Bundchen both did for example.

Dua Lipa wore a vintage Chanel wedding gown. I was watching live coverage of the event and she mentioned it being on her mood board for a while and asked to wear it for the event.

And of course, the lady of the hour, Anna Wintour also wore Chanel! I was definitely feeling her look! That printed jacket is so chic and fits her perfectly!

Thank you, guys, for reading! I hope you enjoyed my take on the Met Gala!

See you Friday! =D

The Crop Top Part 2: A Boho Chic Styling...

Hello all! Happy Monday!

Happy Met Gala Monday! Yesss! Today is the day! I will be keeping up with it tonight and sharing on my Instagram stories as well as putting a post together for you for later on!
Picture
Picture
Today's post is a very summery look! And it is part 2 of this fun, new crop top I got recently.

It was only $15 and definitely worth it! Actually, fun story about it. I was having a really rough day a week or so ago, and one of my friends' was trying to cheer me up and invited me to run some errands with him to take my mind of things. We hit up Target, which is where I found this little number. We were getting ready to check out and he was like 'I got it, don't worry about it!' He bought it for me!

The kindness of the gesture definitely helped cheer me up a bit! And it has already gotten several uses! I've gotten two blog posts out of it and I wore it last Sat to the fashion shows!

This pairing is probably going to be another constant summer repeat I think. Not only does it have the look of summer, but it is light and airy! Which will come in handy because I have a feeling this is going to be a HOT summer!

The skirt is one of my faves, I have had it for a while. I have always loved the tiered, ruffle look.

I actually had plans to pair the top with the blue, pleated, midi skirt but then I had the idea for the white on white look and was sold instantly.

But you can be sure to look for a future styling post with the blue midi skirt! ;)

Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned to my Instagram for the Met Gala coverage!

See you guys on Wednesday!

Feeling Groovy: Dramatic Bell Sleeved Dress...

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am SO happy for today! I feel like this has been such a long week! Partly because of all the rain we have ended up getting. It is kind of putting a damper on my mood! Don't get me wrong, I love a good rainy day sometimes, but too many in a row sometimes starts to get me down.

But we do need the rain and we do need to take time to slow down and if we will not do it ourselves, I guess Mother Nature will step in and do it for us! xD

Today I am sharing with you a dress that I am all here for! It is actually very reminiscent of the Express romper I styled earlier. Except this is a very feminine dress!

I love the femininity of this dress. I spin and the dress just twirls for days! And I really love the dramatic bell-sleeves!

They are so soft, romantic, and they flow so gracefully that I do not just feel like I am walking in a dress, I feel like I am making an entrance!

In keeping with the dramatic theme, I paired a bold statement necklace with the dress. It is a necklace that I have had for a while and while it does not get styled as much, when it does it really packs a punch!

That is why I cannot bear to part with it!

Picture
Picture
I have other plans for ways to style this dress. Primarily I am planning on switching up the accessories. I want to try it with cowgirl boots, booties in general, and maybe some red Mary Jane styled pumps! I also want to try a softer necklace at some point and maybe a light jacket.

Don't worry, you'll be seeing this beauty again soon! =)

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday! =)

Out and About: at the Agri-Couture Fashion Show!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are all well!

Today I am sharing with you about my weekend this past weekend. I attended the Earth Day fashion shows, presented by Charlotte Seen. They were held at Rural Hill, in a very beautiful, restored barn. The first one at 1:30 featured many looks geared towards kids and adolescents. They were all so beautiful and creative!

Given that it was Earth day, there were many sustainable looks made out of recyclable materials. There was a cardboard gown, two piece sets made out of plastic bags, and even a dress made out of plastic spoons! It was very creative and I would definitely rock the spoon dress! It was cute as could be!

At the second show, is where some of my all-time favorite designers were at!

First we were treated to some words of wisdom from Miss. Earth USA, who shared some small, simple things that we can do for our planet, including incorporating 'meatless Mondays' into our schedule, which I am actually considering!

First up on the runway was one of my favorite designers, Geo in Style. I have seen them several times and each time their designs captivate me! They are so edgy and fun! And this show was no exception. Their pieces featured full head masks, the pant-less look, and mesh fabrics.

Hive and Colony is a menswear boutique that was featured in the show and I really enjoyed them as well. The suits were very well fitted and fresh.

Two other designers I really liked were Zetherin -which featured very sultry, dark pieces. And White Kiku, who was almost the exact opposite! Her designs were brightly colored and fun!

There were a ton of recyclable designers that took the runway that night as well. Most of them had one or two pieces that they were showing, but they were all so creative! I love seeing how someone can take something that most of us would not think anything about -like bottle caps for example, and place them all over a mermaid styled skirt!

At the end of the night the audience got to vote on which recyclable designer was their favorite!

It was such a great night! Everyone did so great! It was a joy to be able to attend! I am already looking forward to the next one!

Thank you guys so much for reading! I will see you on Friday! =)

Feels Like Summer: Crop Top and Floral Pants...

Hello!

Happy Monday to you all! I hope you are doing well!

I had a busy weekend! It was much needed though. I have been feeling a little stressed and down lately, so it was nice to have a fun weekend to change things up a bit.

I attended the Earth Day fashion shows on Saturday, which was really fun! I will be sharing more about that on Wednesday!

But I wanted to write a quick post for today!
Picture
Picture
Today's look is one that I have been contemplating for a while now.

I knew I really liked the idea of pairing these floral printed pants with a white crop top, but the one I had in mind was a little too boxy to pair with these pants in particular. I knew I needed something else!

So, I kept my eyes open and found this little crop top at Target. I scooped it up pretty quick, and to be hoInest I had no reservations about it at all. I had a feeling I would be able to style it with SOMETHING in my closet. If not these pants, then maybe a flowy skirt, or high-waisted, paper bag shorts (like what I wore on Saturday to one of the shows!)

Sure enough, it worked perfectly! And when I shot the look, I could not have asked for a more beautiful afternoon!

I have a feeling I will be living in this crop top this summer! ;)

Thanks so much for reading! And stay tuned for Wednesday's fashion show post! Until then, stay safe and well my friends!

Satiny Chic: Pleated Romper and Strappy Pumps!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I hope you all are having a great week! And we have made it to another weekend!

Although I do hear that this weekend maybe a little on the cooler side, I am still excited! I am off and Saturday I am going to two fashion shows, which I will share with you all! Then Sunday, I will probably get some content in for the upcoming week and take it easy!

Those are my plans! What do you guys have going on?
Picture
Picture
Today's look is one that I am considering wearing to one of the shows this weekend. I found it at Express and it is a very billowy, pleated romper! It was a bit more on the pricey side, but the quality of it really made it all worth it! It is a silky fabric, but also lined on the inside (which makes it perfect for this weekend and it being a bit cooler!)

It is a little hard to tell in these pictures, but this little romper is packing some serious drama!

The exaggerated bell-sleeves for one thing! They have a theatrical feel to them. The pleats are another feature that packs a punch. I love pleats! I think it that is a very small design choice and yet it adds such character to a piece!  And finally at the neckline of the romper it twists!
Picture
Picture
Fun story about the shoes! I used to have some strappy heels with a skinny heel, which is what I wanted to pair with this romper. But I guess I either gave them away or God forbid, lost them, somewhere along the way, so I settled for a less strappy pair.

It was just okay.

But I felt like it was not packing the punch that I wanted them too. So, after already spending a good forty mins taking pictures, I ran across the street to a Rack Room and found these killer heels from Chinese Laundry -one of my favorite brands! And man, I did not even think twice!

They packed the punch I was looking for exactly! =D

What do you guys think?

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all have a good and safe weekend and I will see you again on Monday! =D
