Bundling Up...

Hello all!

I hope you will excuse me for not posting on Wednesday! Sweet little Luna -our Chorkie- got sick and I had to take her to the vet before the snow started. She is doing much better now!

As for the big snowstorm, it turned out to not be much. But I am thankful for that. However, it gave me a chance to break out my really warm coats. This black and white printed wrap coat -from Target- is very warm and comfortable. I love how the hood creates a large collar effect. It makes it feel much more chic and elegant.

I paired it with some knee-high gray boots, a forest green turtleneck and a color block bag.

The knit beret I have been on the fence about. I love the way it looks on others but I am not sure how I like it on me. But I decided to go for it anyway. Why not right?

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading! :)

Denim Cutouts and Leather Mini...

Hello Happy Monday!

If there is such a thing?! I think there is! For me Mondays signify the start of new week and a fresh start.

No matter how the previous week went, Monday -I know the week starts on Sunday technically but for most the work week begins on Monday- is a chance to begin again. Change who you were the week before and better yourself even more. At least I find that to be true.

So to start this week off I decided to go bold. I have actually had this denim cutout Forever 21 blouse for a while now but struggled to find the right time to wear it and the right ensemble to wear it with.

This shirt holds a special place in my heart! It makes me feel bold and confident and it is completely outside of my comfort zone but I like it. I love the way it shows off my free-spirit bird tattoo -which I got with one of my closest friends, Ashia.  :)

The leather skirt -also Forever 21- only accents the shirt, in my opinion. And of course the R&J clutch adds a pop of color.

I got some exciting news today, I was nominated for a Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! I am beyond excited! I am responding to that post below! :) Thanks for reading! I appreciate the support so much!

Hello all!

Hope you are having a great weekend so far!

My weekend has been good so far. I have been getting a lot done which is always nice! Today it felt relatively nice out so I decided to go with a comfortable, casual ensemble.

I picked up this wide-brimmed fedora at Versona recently and have been waiting for the perfect time to wear it. I like the way it accents the shirt (Loft) and creates a laid back look while being stylish as well.

As I have mentioned before, I think, I love how much character hats can add to outfits. The roll up clutch is another Versona find. :)

Thanks for reading and feel free to let me know what you think!

Have a great Sunday!

Happy Friday!

Thank goodness its Friday! This week has been a good week but it felt so long!

And cold! So I layer to keep warm! Today I paired this striped button up sweater with faux leather leggings.

I added the fedora to give the ensemble a boho chic feel and the red Versona booties for a pop of color. :)

Its comfy and warm and perfect for when I am on the go!

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend! :)

Twist on a Shift Dress...

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are warm wherever you are! It has been quite cold here in the Queen City. We had ice the other day and its supposed to snow today -though it hasn't yet and I doubt it will, which is A OK with me! ;)

I have a tragic obsession with shift dresses. Tragic because I love them very much but because I have a larger chest they don't fit me right. Typically, they end up making me look bigger because they do not accent my figure a bit.

However, I found this dijon mustard -for any office fans out there- colored shift dress at H&M and could not resist. The color, probably more of a deep yellow -or dijon yellow- is so pretty to me and it stands out significantly against the black tights and leather jacket.

However I used a bright red belt for accent color and to give me shape. That is one thing I love about fashion -you can play with different designs and find creative and stylish ways to accent the ensemble and fit your body type all the while creating a unique look.

This is stylish, warm and perfect for work and a night out. It is another power outfit in my book. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading! And stay warm! :)

Shorts in Feb! And More Plaid...

Hello all! :)

Happy Monday!

Okay, this is going to sound ridiculous but bear with me. One thing that makes me feel inspired and motivated more than anything else is when I create an outfit that is unique and original.

That is what happened today. I was not feeling all too motivated to do anything to be honest. It's cold and might possibly snow and part of me just wanted to curl up with Luna (the dog) and watch Netflix all day!

But I started mixing and matching things in my closet and found this ensemble that I personally like a lot! Its cute, unique, and bold. The plaid shorts (Forever 21) are another take at shorts and tights which I find myself growing more comfortable with. I paired them with a blue button down shirt and a New York and Company wrap vest.

To me this is another power outfit. I have thought this for a long time now: its not what you wear it is how you wear it. For me this outfit give me confidence and makes me feel inspired.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading! :)

Hello! Happy Sunday!

For this post I wanted something relatively warm but cute at the same time, so I played with patterns again!

Today I found that I really like the way that plaid and leopard print look together! They enhance each other oddly enough, at least I think they do, especially in small amounts.

I paired both with darker hues so that the plaid and the leopard print stood out a bit more.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend! Stay warm!

Mixing Patterns and Hints of Red...

Happy Friday!

And Happy early Valentine's Day!

For this post I decided to go against the norm. While others are overloading in red and pink, I decided to go a different route. I decided to mix patterns instead. The striped peplum top (from Gap) and the white polka dotted shirt (Forever 21) work nicely together -I think.

It adds character and it also allowed me to play around with silhouettes. For this post I paired it with faux leather jeans (Forever 21) and an over sized Versona clutch.

And red heels to complete the look!

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy the Valentine's weekend!

Stay warm! :)

Return of Flared Jeans...

Wanted to give a quick hello on this pretty Wednesday!

It has been a busy day for me!

So I kept things simple in a long time favorite piece -distressed flared jeans! I have always liked the look of nice flared jeans and especially in the age of skinny jeans, they have even more charm in my book.

To keep with a professional, structured feel I paired the jeans with the pearl collared shirt and a blazer.

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a great day! :)

My Cape Experiment Continues...

Happy Monday!

So my cape experiment continues today! Today I paired it with a faux leather skirt and a printed top.

I love the way it looks, chic and professional. However, I may have jumped the gun a bit when I chose this today, as it was not nearly as warm as it was this weekend. Nothing a pea coat cannot fix though! ;)

I have at least one other ensemble in mind for this cape. I may wait a month or so before I post it though! ;)

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
