Hey and Happy Monday!

Fresh off of a great weekend and I am feeling so inspired! I went to a fashion show this weekend! WHAAA!? Yes! Finally for the first time in a year! It was The Honey Comb Experience fashion show, Beige is the New White. I will have much more to say about it on Friday! But it was so fun and so inspirational!

On to today's post. I'm following up with my love of these red shorts! They are helping me serve looks in many different ways! Last post, as you know, I paired them with a button down and a sweater. I was really surprised how much I liked that look. It came together so perfectly. Today, I am experimenting with this color block sweater and these same red, pleather shorts.

I think the color combo is what drew me too this look. The red in the shorts and the sweater anchor the look, but also the other colors in the sweater really compliment the look and break up the red-on-red.

Everything else was pretty neutral. With this much color you don't want to overwhelm but throwing in some over the top accessories. Well, in my opinion that is. I kept things simple with a gold studded bag and leopard print heels. Both have similarly warm colors that blend with the look more than they compete with it.

I hope you enjoy this look! And please stay tuned for my next special post all about the Honey Comb Experience fashion show! See you Friday! =)

XOXO

Hello all and Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing with you a much more laid back look! And one of the softest sweat shirts I've ever worn! It is a piece from my friend and designer, Ricky Dee's line -YRD Clothing. You may remember a post I wrote about Ricky a few weeks ago. If you don't here is a quick recap. I met Ricky through several events with Robert Brown, most recently a Honey Comb event back in November. Ricky is a designer and one of the most ambitious people I've met. He will be featuring some of his designs in the upcoming Honey Comb Experience fashion show -Beige is the New White later this month.

Ricky's line includes everything from t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, backpacks, and face masks.

I personally love this sweatshirt for early morning or cool evening runs/walks. I love the bright pop of color -you guys know I'm all about color! I also love the simple graphics of it. And by simple I mean that neither the logo across the top nor the GOAT Mentality graphic compete with each other. Instead they both compliment each other, resulting in a badass sweatshirt design!

Also, as I mentioned before, it is one of the softest sweatshirts I have ever worn! I could easily curl up and fall asleep in it!

I'd definitely recommend it!

If you want to see more of Ricky's line you can check it out on Instagram @yrd_shops

And -if you got your tickets- you can check out his line on the 27th of this month at the Beige is the New White fashion show!

Thanks for reading!

Beautiful Blue...

Hello and Happy Saturday!

I apologize for the late post, but I wanted to post quickly tonight.

I LOVE this look so much! It is so whimsical and lovely. The colors all blend together so beautifully. I love how the different shades of blue all blend together!

I have always loved this skirt from Grace Boutique. I've had it for quite a while now and I just love it! It never fails to make me feel so special and queen like.

This look in general made me feel refreshed. Its coming up on a year ago that everything here in Charlotte shut down. Right before St. Patrick's Day. It was a scary time then. I remember I was very nervous but always trying to put on a brave face. Some days were easier than others. But now a year later, I feel so much more calm. I feel like things are under more control now. My friends and I appreciate each other so much more. It just feels like such a deep breath has been relieved. That is kind of what this look represents to me.

We still have a bit to go but we have come SO far! But this look to me had a new dawn kind of look. A new start kind of a feel. A new hope even. I never really lost that hope but it grew weary at times. It still does at times. It is never gone though. It is always there.

Thank you guys for reading. Stay tuned!

After a lonnnng streak of rainy days we FINALLY have a great, beautiful day today!

Happy Friday!

To celebrate this spring feeling day I decided to style a spring look.

This hot pink midi skirt from Target has become a staple piece for me. Funny enough, when I bought it initially, I almost took it back. I wasn't sure if I really liked it or not. And now I have found many ways to style it!

You may find this similar look in future posts. I have been messing around with other pieces.

Also, I'm thinking of taking a short break from blogging. It won't be soon, as there are a few shows coming up to share with you. But I also have some writing ideas in mind and have an urge to focus on those as well.

I'll let you know what is going on. Stay tuned!

XOXO

Layering:: Another Bundled Up Look..

Hello and Happy Monday!

It has been a LONG Monday -hence the late post! But better late than never right?

Today is another bundled up look that involves layering. I paired a button up with a turtle neck sweater and a color block peacoat. I tried to keep the colors very similar; blue, white, and beige.

I took these pictures earlier when it was actually colder out. The last three days the temps have been pretty warm. Yesterday was beautiful!

My plan was to plan a different look that more suited today's temperature and save this look for another day. BUUUUUT the best laid plans right? Like I said earlier, today was LONG and some unexpected things popped up. Adult life is fun... lol. So the long and short of it is that I just went ahead with this look.

I hope you like it!

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

XOXO
