Hello and Happy Monday!

Happy Easter as well!

I have a short but sweet look to share with you today, to kick the week off. It is this tennis skirt/shirt set! I know I say this a lot, but I feel like this look is another that will be in constant rotation this spring and summer!
Picture

It is an extremely breezy outfit! Even though the shirt has long sleeves, it is very light weight, so it will not be too hot in the summer. The skirt pretty much speaks for itself. It is a bit on the short side. Thankfully, there are built in shorts underneath, so there is no risk in anything showing!

For me, this look really put itself together. It was a no brainer. All of the pieces just fell into place to create a sporty, girly look!

I even styled my hair different! I knew this look was coming up and I envisioned it with a thick headband like this one. So, the morning I went to shoot, I swung by Walgreens and got a pack of five. I was not 100 percent sure if I would be able to pull it off. As it turns out, I love how it looks! I love how easy it is to wear! I love my hair being back and out of my face!

Why have I not been wearing these headbands my entire life!?

Jumpsuit of my Dreams: Urban Outfitters Jumpsuit...

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

I hope you all are doing well!

I am on a bit of an Urban Outfitters kick lately!  In the last post, my knit polo was from Urban Outfitters and in this post, the jumpsuit is also from Urban Outfitters!

From the design to the color (psst! it comes in two other colors!) to the fit, it is the jumpsuit of my dreams!
Picture

This jumpsuit is so freaking soft! It feels like... I am not even sure what to compare it to! It is almost like wearing a stylish blanket! Its soft, breezy, and easy to style! This pairing is probably the most obvious pairing in my opinion. But I am looking forward to styling it other ways.

The material is very forgiving! I was really bloated when taking these pictures and the idea of putting on anything other than sweats sounded miserable. But this jumpsuit was very appreciated! There is light ruching detail on the bodist part of the suit. The wide legged design are just plain fun! I love how they flow when I walk!

This look is definitely a hard launch into spring!

It will also suit me well during the summer!

When I was shooting this look, we had roofers at our house. It was a long day of trying to dodge shingles being flung off the roof, while getting to my car., but I made it work!

I was shooting at a shopping center nearby. It was FREEZING out! But this was the planned look! If I stray away from planned looks it can be an ADD nightmare! I might not get anything done! So, I went ahead with this look. I got a bunch of great pictures in, and then I saw this grassy median area with a bunch of trees in bloom! That is where I had a lot of fun!

At one point I even laid down in the grass, probably looking like a lunatic to passers by! But the pictures came out great! I took a lot of those on my phone, but I was pleased with them.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a great weekend ahead!

Sporty Chic Themes: Knit Polo, Sneakers, Belt Bag...

Hello and Happy Monday!

It's a beautiful day today, but when I took these pictures, it looked like the bottom was about to fall out of the sky! (And it did later on!) I took my chances anyway, but I styled accordingly!

Thank goodness I did too! As it began to rain on me. Sprinkling at first, and I figured I could power through. But of course, it gradually became a steadier rain. That's when I packed up and left for the time being.

I had been wanting to style this knitted polo for a while, however it took some time to get the right look. I actually had taken pictures in a completely different look but as I edited them, I just did not feel like it was the right look. So, I played around and came up with this sporty chic look!

I love the gold/yellow and black color theme. It is simple, sporty, and pulls together perfectly. i think the polo, adds interest to the look. I could have easily gone with a sweatshirt or denim jacket, but this polo is different! It is unique!

Also, peep the sneakers! They are a little bit of a splurge! I rarely buy sneakers, to be honest with you, but I had an urge for a black pair of sneakers and just so happened to have an Amazon gift card! I also got the seal of approval from my sister, who is a sneaker lover/expert!

And finally, the look was really tied together by the Lululemon belt bag! I love the bag! I love that it frees up my hands for other things -particularly this day when I had to spring to my car hurriedly in the rain- but posing for pictures hands free is strange to me!

This shoot took a lot longer than most because I would take a picture, check to see how it came out, only for it to come out so awkwardly! I am cringing now thinking about them! That is definitely something that will take some getting used to as I feel like this look is going to in constant rotation this spring/summer!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed! And I will see you on Wednesday!

Pastel Season: Floral Printed Spring Set!

Hello and Happy Friday!

It has been so beautiful lately! And to celebrate that I am breaking out my pastels and floral prints!

This Target set is so comfortable and beautiful! It is the epitome of a Spring look!
Picture

From the pastels to the floral prints, to the balloon sleeve, and the ruffled skirt, I felt like I should be breaking into song! I didn't -in case you were wondering!

I love how feminine it is! Though I would not consider it my signature style, it is nice to feel like a girly-girl sometimes.

One of my favorite parts of this look is the pop of highlighter yellow! These strappy, block heels are a spring/summer staple in my opinion! They really complete this look!

You also might notice my turquoise, drop earrings!

This is one of the rare times I chose to wear dramatic earrings. I could not tell you why I don't often wear dressier earrings. But I don't! Typically, I will wear studs if anything. But I spied this pair and could not help myself from styling with the set. And they worked perfectly! It is like they were made for this look!

What do you guys think? Are you a fan of this look? If so, the set is at Target. They have it a black/white, polka dot print as well. And also a matching dress, which I also like a lot! I will link it below!

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great weekend ahead! =D

Return of the Bucket Hat: Striped Dress, Bucket Hat...

Hello all!

Just a quick post for today!

Toay is a bit of a casual look and actually when I styled this look, it was a bit cooler out still. Cool and windy. My goal was to style in layers. Hence the flannel shirt. And the bucket hat really saved my hair from the wind!

I took a few pictures with the flannel shirt (ironically the same shirt from Friday's post!) over the dress and was not crazy about how they came out. So, I tied it around my waist instead. I love that look much more!
Picture

It has a much more approachable/ casual feel styled this way. I found the tennis shoes and the asymmetrical bag to be fun touches that reflected more of my personality.

This is the second appearance for the bucket hat! I cannot tell you how much I love this piece! My sister got it for me for Christmas and she called it a 'wildcard' gift. She was not sure, how I'd like it, she had just got out on a whim. Interestingly enough, I had been wanting a bucket hat for a while when she gifted it to me!

It won't be the last time you see it either, as I find that it holds so much character!

Perhaps that will be a post of its' own.... I will have to think about it!  ;D

Color Pallette: Black, Blue, and Silver Themes...

Hello friends!

Before going completely full force into spring, I wanted to take a quick moment for this look!

It is kind of a transitional look, but the colors are more geared towards winter in my opinion. But I love this look so much, I have to share it!
Picture

The whole purpose of this look was to dress up this flannel shirt. But it began very differently! It began with this look minus the blazer and silver accents.

Instead, I had an orange beanie and a seafoam green bag. I took pictures in it and edited them and was.... underwhelmed.

I spent time thinking and trying out other pairings, which how I came to this look! I loved how the blue looked against the black and white. And silver accents seemed only natural!

It is also my first time styling silver heels with black tights!

My first time styling any kind of colored heels with black tights. I usually style them with black heels. But I was very surprised with how much I liked the way it looked!

My only regret? That I did not realize this combo sooner! I could have had a lot more fun this winter had I come across this styling idea sooner! But.... next year!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy this post!

Have a great weekend ahead and I will see you all on Monday! =D

Spring is in the Air: Dramatic Ruffled, Maxi Dress...

Hello all! Happy Monday!

I am posting a full-on Spring look today!
Mainly since the days are officially longer now, it just feels right!

Also, the Oscars were last night, so in celebration I consciously choose to be extra today in my styling! xD

This dress is from the site, Uoozee. It is one of two dresses I got back in the fall/winter and have been patiently waiting to be able to style.

It wears like a dream! It drapes beautifully and flows delicately when I walk. My favorite part is when it gets caught in a breeze, that is when you can really see how extent of its' loveliness!

And the large bottom ruffle adds just the perfect amount of character!

I loved this business park in Ballantyne to shoot at. I knew it would be the perfect place for this beauty! However, I did not plan my shooting time very well. I headed out around 11:30, knowing where I wanted to go (sometimes I have not decided beforehand) but I did not take into account that that would be about the time that people would be going on their lunch break. AND being that it was a gorgeous day outside, everyone would want to be outside.

I tried my best to stay out of the way, but I know I ended up in a few people's way. And I apologize! Thanks to everyone for being so kind and patient with me! I promise next time I will come earlier or later!  xD

I hope you guys enjoy this post! And maybe get inspired to pull out your spring outfits! I would love to see them!

Have a great week and I will see you on Wednesday!

Baby Blues: Matching Sweatshirt and Sweatpants...

Hello! Happy Friday!

Today I am taking a break from the skirts and dresses of late. We have been having some rainy days lately and it has had me a little in my feelings.

But it is also a great reason to wear comfy sweats!

This baby matching, baby blue sweat suit is one of my favorites!
Picture
Picture
It is from Target, and it was pretty much love at first sight! I was immediately drawn to the color. The baby blue is cute and also a lovely Spring color. But it was upon putting it on that I was sold!

It is soft! Buttery soft! Maybe a little TOO soft! I don't want to have to take it off level soft!

And it is warm/cozy. That, my friends, is a dangerous combo!

I may find myself going back for multiple sets, which I really DON'T need right now.

As with all sets, I am looking forward to mixing and matching these pieces with other pieces.

This is not only a great rainy day fit, but it makes a great travel fit! We are planning to go to Utah this summer and this is most definitely going to be my airport look. It is comfortable, easy, stylish, and like I did for Seattle, I layered a tank top underneath in case I got too warm and needed to take the sweat shirt off.

What do you guys think? And also, what are some of your favorite travel looks?

Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful weekend a head! I will see you Monday!

Representing Myself: Rep Plus Tee, Metallic Skirt!

Happy Monday!

Today I have a question for you? How are you representing yourself today?

This question was posed to me a few weeks ago, when I saw my friend, Tameisha Outing's line of 'Represent Urself' shirts at a fashion show. The question was actually a video she posted shortly after to show, but it has stuck with me all this time. Every day I go to style a look, go to an event, or tell someone about my blog, I think to myself, 'how am I representing myself today?" I have found it to be profound on a few levels.

It can be relevant on the level of how I feel like dressing myself today. Do I feel fancy? Or more casual? Do I feel like fussing with a specifically styled look, or do I want an easier jeans/tshirt, grab-and-go look? Do I feel like standing out in the crowd today? Or would I rather blend in?

How will I represent myself today?

It could also be relevant on the level of growing a small business. I want to take this blog in the direction of personal styling. So that question echoes in my head when I am going to events and in making meaningful connections. I want to always put my best foot forward.

I have been looking forward to this post, because of all the thinking that question has had me doing!

I am also excited to shout out Tameisha's work! I have two of her t-shirts and they are two of my favorite t=shirts! They are both so soft! This was the first one I got, and I am constantly wearing it!  I love the color in particular!

Today, I decided to brighten up a rainy day by styling it with my beloved metallic skirt!

I love the sneakers with skirt combo. Especially with this particular skirt, it is an unexpected twist to the look!

One other thing I want to share about this post, was some of the pictures I took. I was very intentional about what I wanted for this look. I knew I wanted a picture like the one I posted above. Where the camera was angled up at me. This staircase was absolutely perfect! Not only was it picturesque in design (i.e. the rounded design, the iron railings, the greenery around it) but also it allowed me to be higher than the camera. The picture came out perfectly (granted it took several tries!) but I feel like the way I am standing confidently, plus the 'represent urself' printed on the shirt is almost like announcing it to the world (or ya know, the Truist bank I was beside at least!)  xD

Thank you so much for reading! And a huge thanks for Tameisha! If you are interested in a shirt (or she also makes some very beautiful canvases!) you can find her on IG at @repplusllc.

Have a great week ahead!
