Representing Myself: Rep Plus Tee, Metallic Skirt!

Happy Monday!

Today I have a question for you? How are you representing yourself today?

This question was posed to me a few weeks ago, when I saw my friend, Tameisha Outing's line of 'Represent Urself' shirts at a fashion show. The question was actually a video she posted shortly after to show, but it has stuck with me all this time. Every day I go to style a look, go to an event, or tell someone about my blog, I think to myself, 'how am I representing myself today?" I have found it to be profound on a few levels.

It can be relevant on the level of how I feel like dressing myself today. Do I feel fancy? Or more casual? Do I feel like fussing with a specifically styled look, or do I want an easier jeans/tshirt, grab-and-go look? Do I feel like standing out in the crowd today? Or would I rather blend in?

How will I represent myself today?

It could also be relevant on the level of growing a small business. I want to take this blog in the direction of personal styling. So that question echoes in my head when I am going to events and in making meaningful connections. I want to always put my best foot forward.

I have been looking forward to this post, because of all the thinking that question has had me doing!

I am also excited to shout out Tameisha's work! I have two of her t-shirts and they are two of my favorite t=shirts! They are both so soft! This was the first one I got, and I am constantly wearing it!  I love the color in particular!

Today, I decided to brighten up a rainy day by styling it with my beloved metallic skirt!

I love the sneakers with skirt combo. Especially with this particular skirt, it is an unexpected twist to the look!

One other thing I want to share about this post, was some of the pictures I took. I was very intentional about what I wanted for this look. I knew I wanted a picture like the one I posted above. Where the camera was angled up at me. This staircase was absolutely perfect! Not only was it picturesque in design (i.e. the rounded design, the iron railings, the greenery around it) but also it allowed me to be higher than the camera. The picture came out perfectly (granted it took several tries!) but I feel like the way I am standing confidently, plus the 'represent urself' printed on the shirt is almost like announcing it to the world (or ya know, the Truist bank I was beside at least!)  xD

Thank you so much for reading! And a huge thanks for Tameisha! If you are interested in a shirt (or she also makes some very beautiful canvases!) you can find her on IG at @repplusllc.

Have a great week ahead!
