Happy Friday!!

I am SO very ready for the weekend!

Don't get me wrong, it has been a nice week, but there is something about heading home on a Friday and knowing you have the weekend off that makes me so happy!

Speaking of this week, I have some fun stuff to share! On Wednesday, I spent a day doing some shopping with my mom! I'm so excited about this pair of studded sandals from Michael Lani. I found them at Off Broadway Shoes (heads up they are having a sale on sandals! I got these for $25!) But a little back story; so I have been looking for some more sandals lately and I found this pair on the Off Broadway website. Well, Sunday I went in search of them and could not find them. So I found them again on Wednesday and called this time, and the sales man was so nice! He found AND held them for me and they are just.... amazing!

Actually they are the stars of this post. They are edgy, fun, chic, and best of all they go with so many things! I personally LOVE the edge and the studs. They have such a badass feel!

I kept the rest of the outfit really muted. Pops of color here and there, but I really want the sandals to stand out.

My other fun find; the perfume from Jimmy Choo, Illicit. I stopped in Beauty Brands with my mom and I started to meander the perfume section. I stumbled upon this treasure! I only purchased the roll on (which the sales clerks -Tiffany and Michael (I believe/hope lol) this time. But I am definitely going back for the actual bottle!  It is such a lovely fragrance!! I highly recommend it!

What are you doing fun this weekend!? I plan on indulging a bit on myself, relaxing, working out, cleaning (some much needed cleaning), and whatever else maybe in store....  ;)

Thanks for reading!

Limitless:: Denim Vest and Prints...

Hello all!

Ringing in the start of this week with what I consider to be my signature look. This is a look I can always count on! It has saved me many a time! When I am pressed for time and need a go-to outfit. Drinks with girlfriends. When I am an unsure of how dressy I need to be for an event. For date night or business/blogging meetings. Even shopping -this outfit can be perfect for all of those occasions!

How? Because it is accommodating and open for interpretation and for variations. I personally love this particular pairing, but I also love unexpected pops of color and textures, as well as mixing prints/patterns. I have found that when done minimally it can add charm and charisma to an outfit. But this is one of those outfits that can be mixed and matched with ease! Ditch the heels for flats or gladiator sandals (or any sandals) and boom -a stylish casual look. Switch out the denim vest for a structured blazer or perhaps a statement necklace -boom, two different looks. Even the bag can be switched out with a clutch or a fringed bag, and BOOM -different look.

That is what I love about this outfit. I can repeat it over and over, yet no one has to know! =D Which brings me to an announcement. We are quickly approaching the month of May! Last year I hosted a May style challenge where I opted to not buy any new pieces for the entire month and instead restyled pieces I already owned.

This May I feel inspired to repeat the Style Challenge but with a different take. This time, in addition to not spending money on new pieces, I feel inspired to find three ways to wear the pieces I already own. So for example, if it began today. This would be the first look. Wednesday, I would find a different way to style the denim vest, and Friday I would find one more way to style the vest.

I am hesitant to announce this but I do love a challenge, so maybe -if nothing else- I will do this for myself!

I look forward to hearing what you think!

Thanks for reading!!

Okay, I realize this photographs more as blue rather than purple, but I swear the outfit -in person- is purple!

For today, I decided to go with a relatively lower-key look. Something simple and easy. Ironically, creating this look was not that easy. I had an outfit in mind but I didn't love it once I put it together. So then I began to experiment. I tried a few variations of this look before I decided that this was the one.

The Loft blouse and GAP jeans are so similar in color they just flowed so perfectly, and the Loft blazer also incorporated similar colors.

The leopard print, Versona bag, was an unexpected twist. I initially was inclined to go for my signature, go-to, pop-of-color with a red clutch. But as I reached for it, I had an interesting thought. That is just a little too easy. Sure that would work perfectly, but what if you tried something different? And so I began to experiment. I was a little torn between a Versona envelope clutch and this bag, but this particular combination really spoke to me.

This is a style tip from me to you. I highly encourage you to experiment with fashion! A lot of times my favorite outfits are the ones where I stepped outside of my comfort zone and experimented. When I experiment, I sometimes mix and match several pieces; bags, blazers, shirts or pants, etc before I find the right look. But when I do its a solid feeling usually. I know I have the look I want. I love the look I created and I'm proud of it.

It sounds silly I'm sure, but its well worth it -at least in my opinion. Looking good makes you feel good. Try it out! I would love to hear or see about creative looks you have created! =)

Thanks for reading! Wishing you a happy weekend! =D

Happy Monday!

Jen returned for this shoot! Yay!! =) I always enjoy working with Jen! She has such a good eye for photography!

On to the ensemble. Today was one of those days that I just was not feeling myself, nothing wrong in particular, just felt a little drained. The fun patterns, the pop of color, and the sparkle of the sweatshirt really helped lift my funk!  I'm not really sure how this outfit came to life, but I am so glad it did!

Thanks Jen for the pictures! And thank you guys for reading as always!!

Have a great week! =)

Hello Weekend!

And not a moment too soon! Although it has been a really nice week for me, I am looking forward to a weekend off!

I am shooting today with my friend, Anjelika! We met randomly but have a lot in common including a love for fashion!

I adore this blend of light colors, and relaxed fabrics. The relaxed tee (from GAP) is a staple piece especially for spring/summer.  Light, airy, easy to style, and I personally love the light blue color!

The light-hearted, feminine colors are so playful and fun. And today is beautiful! Its hard to not be in a good mood! =)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! =)

See you Monday!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Today I am still combatting this ever changing weather here in the QC. I wore this over the weekend and it was quite comfortable -weather wise. I used the printed Loft scarf for an extra layer of warmth over the long-sleeved tee. Bonus points because it adds charm and a unique-boldness to an otherwise plain outfit.

Scarves are great for styling in general. They are typically easy to style and you can never go wrong with a great bag as well. The crisp lines and structured design of this Versona bag have easily made it a favorite of mine!  And the crisp colors of the ensemble capture the essence of spring!

Before I close I want to announce that a winner has been chosen for the Versona clutch giveaway! Congratulations to Dana of I Adore What I Love! I appreciate your support and a big thanks to everyone who entered! Although it was a small giveaway, I'm proud of it and grateful to you all! =)

Enjoy the bag, Dana! And thanks, as always, for reading!

Hello lovelies!

So happy news; its Friday!!! :D

I'm exceptionally happy about this post because I am restyling two of my favorite pieces! Let me start by saying that because of the always changing weather here in the QC, it makes dressing much more challenging. So I believe in mixing seasonal pieces. Because it has been very cool in the early morning hours (which is when my day typically starts) hence the turtleneck over a button down. And shorts, because by early afternoon, it is much warmer.

But the reason I am exceptionally pleased with this post is for two reasons; the booties and shorts. These are two of my favorite pieces. A great fitting pair of black shorts is essential especially with summer right around the corner! And these booties, they are unique, comfortable, versatile -what more could you ask for? Unfortunately, being two of my favorite pieces, got distressed and worn out quickly.

But thankfully, my mother was able to fix my shorts and I was able to take my beloved booties to Shoe Repair in the arboretum to have the heel tips fixed and polished. They came back looking brand new!

That is what I love. I don't mind spending money on fixing the pieces that mean so much to me. I feel it is money worth spent!

Although I have some skill with a needle and thread I am not any where near how talented my mom is! I'm so thankful for her help and support for everything! Both of my parents really! =)

Thank you for reading as always! Have a great weekend! =)

Casual Monday:: Stripes and Mini Gladiator Sandals...

Happy Monday!

Look who made it back onto the blog!? Luna!! =D My favorite partner in crime!

I am welcoming the week in a more casual way. Denim shorts and gladiator sandals (which I have gotten several compliments on and I think I only paid $10 for at Marshalls!) A crisp button up is always a great way to dress up a casual outfit. For me, I had a busy last two days! Friday, I attended a Fashion and Style Industry event in the QC at Gallery One-Five-0.

It was awesome! I got to meet and network with other creative minds and make friends and potential collaborations. One-Five-O is a beautiful gallery and I was so thrilled to be a part of it!

Earlier on Friday, was even more exciting! Over the past few months, I have had to opportunity to get to know the lovely people at King's Jewelers (at Matthews Township Parkway, right next to Rack Room Shoes). They have come to my rescue at least four times now (I think!) Twice for the Dekicate Kate Necklace from Lou Lou Boutique (while it is a stunning piece it is called delicate for a reason!) They fixed another necklace for me a few weeks ago, and most recently they put the battery into my Versona watch, which I wore to the Fashion/Style event.

When it comes to repairing and restoring jewelry they are very affordable and very kind people! I have gotten to know them and I want to promote them because of how kind they have been to me. Not only that, but they are also a family owned business and that is something I very much respect.

I appreciate the friendships I have formed with them and will highly recommend them to any and everyone! Not only are their prices (especially when it comes to repairing and restoring jewelry) reasonable and very quickly fixed, but they also have gorgeous jewelry for sale as well!

Stop in! Check them out! And hopefully I can share more with you in the near future!

Thank you so much for reading and Happy Monday!

XOXO
