Happy Halloween! Printed Midi Skirt and a Pop of Blue...

Hello all! Happy Halloween!

I know this post is not exactly in the theme of Halloween, but I still wanted to share it with you anyway! xD
Picture

I took these pictures later in the day (my usually shooting times are mid-morning through about 3 or 4, I have found for me, that is when the lighting is best.) But this day, it was later on in the day -closer to 6pm. That is why it is a bit darker than some of my other posts. I still really like the way that they came out though!

The outfit itself is a time-less look. You can never go wrong with black against a white, printed, midi skirt. I kept with the black and white theme when it came to the boots and jacket. Both of which toughen the look up a bit.

The most fun for me -of course- is how the blue bag really pops against the rest of the look! It adds that bit of fun I know that I need right about now! (It is hard to see in the pictures, but there is some blue in the skirt, so the bag is not completely out of left field! There was a method to my madness! xD).

Are you guys doing anything fun for Halloween? I am dressing up as Michael Myers -my favorite of the serial killers! And no, I was not a fan of the "final" Halloween movie. As just a movie, it would have been alright. As the final show down between Michael and Laurie? It felt more anti climatic than anything. That's just me though, hopefully other people liked it!

Be safe whatever you guys get in to today/tonight! And I will see you next time! =)

Golden Hours: Loft Sweater Dress...

Hello and Welcome back!

I hope this week has treated you well!

I feel like this month is lasting forever -and I will take it because I LOVE October! Also, I am really enjoying the beautiful colors of the leaves changing!

I always enjoy that, but they feel more vibrant this year to me. And it feels like they are last a bit longer. In years past I feel like they turned quickly and then fell and we did not get to really enjoy the colors for that long.

For today's post it is a pretty simple but very cozy and very chic look.

This button down, sweater dress is so soft and warm to wear I almost don't want to take it off! Today I styled it pretty simplistically but there are many other ways to style it to keep it in constant rotation.

Adding a belt, swapping out the heels for booties, or maybe flats! Throwing a denim jacket over top of it or a peacoat when it gets cooler. I'm planning on unbuttoning it and wearing it as a sweater with jeans and a t-shirt in the future.

I am definitely going to have a fun time playing around with ways to style it!

There were a few items on the LOFT website that caught my eye recently. This dress being one of them. this is the perfect fall dress! Especially with the holidays right around the corner! It could very well be one of my go-to dresses!

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great weekend ahead! =)

Fashion Inspo: Lori Harvey!

Hello my friends!

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome back to my Fashion Inspo series!

My fashion inspo today is also my spirit animal! Lori Harvey! She has to be one of my all-time favorite fashionistas to watch! She never misses! In fact, some say that she shut down New York Fashion Week this year!
Picture
Picture
Lori Harvey is a model and entrepreneur, she's also the daughter of Marjorie Elaine Harvey (a well-known stylist, designer, and blogger) and adoptive daughter of Steve Harvey.

I just recently started to follow her fashion wise, and it is reminiscent of Rihanna in that it is very fluid. There is nothing she seems to shy away from and everything she wears she owns it! Her confidence is unmatched.

A common thing I have noticed in a lot of her styles is that they appear to be very sporty chic. Lori seems to love a good pair of sweats or baggy jeans and baseball hats.

But when she dresses up, she goes full on glam!
Picture
Lori Harvey is definitely someone I will be continuing to follow. Her boldness and fearlessness will rocket her to the center of the fashion world, I'm sure and I am here for it!

What do you guys think? Are you a fan of Ms. Harvey's styles?

Thanks for reading! Wishing you all a great Wednesday and I will see you Friday! =)

Windy City: Printed Dress, Peacoat...

Hello and Happy Monday!

Welcome back, my friends!

Today I am bundling up a bit! When I shot this and Friday's post it was significantly cooler! Not only that, but it was windy as well, which made it feel a lot colder!

BUT on the plus side, it gives me more reason to break out this beautiful peacoat!
Picture

I really loved this color combination. It was in the forefront of my mind as soon as I saw this dress. I knew the different shades of purple, plus the print would stand out even with the purple peacoat over top. They create such a fresh, chic look together. Alone, the dress still holds its own.

In my opinion it is a beautiful dress. The color, the print, the fit -it is an easy-to-wear and versatile piece that I feel certain will be in rotation constantly!

And I LOVE how the green, mini bag goes along with the look! It almost seems made for this dress!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful week! =)

Hello! And Happy Friday!

I just have a quick post for you today! I'm stilling flying high from the concert last night. It was FANTASTIC! I will have a lot more to share on that in an upcoming post! However, I'm also exhausted! I'm pretty much going to be sipping on coffee and/or Monsters all day! xD
Picture
Picture
You guys will have to excuse my hair in this post (and probably Monday's post too) it was very windy out when I was shooting. I'm a bit surprised my camera did not topple over! But I had to make it work. I was able to get some pretty good shots, but there are also a few where my hair is just all over the place!

Toady's look is kind of a fun retro look that stays relatively in the same color family (aside from the blue heels!)

I cannot actually tell you why I opted for blue heels to where with it instead of a shoe that was similar in color or even a maroon color -which I did think about! I am always one to look for an unexpected twist or pop of color and today this is the color that spoke to me!
Picture
At one point while shooting, I did have to throw on this jacket! It wasn't planned, but I like how it actually matched pretty well so I got a few shots in it as well! It probably wouldn't be my first choice for this look, but hey! It worked out! =)

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend! =)

Its' bad bitch o' clock.

Yeah, its' thick-thirty!

Welcome back my friends! I am SO excited! (Can you tell?!) Tomorrow night I will be in the same vicinity, jamming out with Lizzo!

So, I felt it only proper for Lizzo to be this week's Fashion Inspo!
Picture
Picture
Lizzo is one of my biggest inspirations because she is fearless! There isn't anything she won't wear and rock! She has a confidence that shines through. One thing I have had in my head from a very young age is that it is not necessarily what you wear, but how you wear it.

Lizzo has that covered!

Her style is constantly changing! Sometimes it is a wild, bright, leotard while she is dancing her heart out onstage. Sometimes it is low-key and chill. Sometimes it is raunchy and sassy! And sometimes it is glamourous!

Also, can we take a minuet to love on her iconic micro mini bag!?

It serves absolutely no purpose that I can tell, but it is cute as can be!

I'm really loving this look below; the t-shirt dress with printed boots. It looks so effortlessly cool. Actually, it would be a great concert look! Hmmm... I may have to rethink my look for tomorrow night.... ;)
Picture
Fashion aside, Lizzo is an inspiration in her own right. She has the most infectious laugh (I was rolling when she hosted SNL!) and such a genuine smile! She encourages women to love themselves and is all about women supporting women.

I feel like she would be such a great friend!

Lizzo is one flute-playing, twerking baddie and I cannot wait to see her tomorrow night! I will definitely have more to share about it with you guys! Stay tuned here or you can follow me on Instagram: Reaganinmyownworld for more pictures, videos, and reels.

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did! Have a great day and I will see you Friday!

Shopping Spree: Ruched Top and Quilted Pants...

Hello and welcome back! Happy Monday!

I've been accumulating a few new pieces here and there over the last few weeks and I'm about to start sharing them with you!

Beginning with this look.

This ruched top I found on Shein of course, and I thought it would great for holiday parties, as they are right around the corner! About the same time I was waiting for it to arrive, I found these quilted, textured pants at Target and while I wasn't initially sure about them, I some ideas for them, so I brought them home to try out these ideas. Spoiler alert: I think I'm going to keep them!
Picture

This pairing was one of my first ideas for ways to style both the pants and the top. I put them together and it did not disappoint! I loved the look! I like two styling of two very different textures. I like the color contrast. It just brings so much life to the look!

I can't wait till it is a little colder and I can pair a peacoat with it! I think that would really look nice!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a great week! I will see you Wednesday with another Fashion Inspo!

Fall Colors: Layers and a New Do!

Hello my friends! Happy Friday!

As we get closer to Halloween, the kid in me gets more and more excited. I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but I LOVE fall! The cool, crisp air, the leaves changing colors, the time changing! It is just such a pleasant time of year in my opinion. I'm very happy that the cool weather has been hanging around a bit this year. I feel as though in years past, we have had a week of fall-like weather and then straight to winter!

While I have been savoring these autumn days, I have also been reveling in the fall fashion!
Picture
Picture
Today I decided to play around with layers. Again. ;)

This was a relatively simple look with some repeat pieces. This oversized Target blazer -which I will never tire of and hopefully you guys won't either! Actually, now that I am sitting here writing this, this whole look is a Target look! From head to toe! The booties I have styled once before, but they are so comfortable! They will be getting a love of wear this year!

Of course, this textured, maroon bag I have used several times. The new piece is this cream colored, pleather, button down. It is a pretty basic piece, and it comes in an oversized fit so there is plenty of room to move around! This is very nice when it comes to hiding flaws that we sometimes feel. And with the holidays right around the corner, that will be a very nice design feature indeed!
Picture
Speaking of Target, has anyone gotten to check out the Sergio Hudson collab pieces? I am going to have to travel a bit to get to it, it seems like. But from what I can tell it will be well worth it! I've seen some gorgeous colors and prints! I'm thinking of a beautiful blue blouse and pants combo that has been calling my name since the ads for it came out!

There are two other designers as well, I believe that also have some interesting pieces! Maybe I will do a whole post on these capsule collections when I get to them! I was already thinking of doing a Fashion Inspo post on Sergio Hudson in the future. So we shall see how it all goes!

I hope you guys have a great weekend ahead and stay safe! See you Monday! =)

Fashion Inspo: Juan Jose Style and Galeria Dalia!

10/11/2022

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a special post for you guys!

You may remember back in September, when I posted about Charlotte Fashion Week (Part 1) I mentioned designer Juan Rivera being one of my favorite designers of the night. He closed out the final two nights as a matter of fact! His designs were breathtaking and unique, but he also had such a great energy about him! I was able to connect with Juan afterwards both nights and I got to learn about him! I am happy to be able to share his story with you today!
Picture
Picture
Juan Rivera was born in Santa Tecla, El Salvador and lived there until the age of 14. From a young age, Juan was interested in design due to his mother making clothes at home. "I grew up watching my mother experiment with fabrics," he says, "and it was absolutely fantastic!" He recalled her even making him an entire outfit for his Kindergarten!

We want pictures of it, Juan!  xD

All kidding aside, Juan's family and friends are close knit. In fact, he dedicated the Galeria Dalia line to his late mother and his Juan Jose Style line to his brother. He also met many close friends when he moved to Los Angelas at 14 to attend school, and he is still close with many of them to this day. "Behind the scenes I have a huge group of people supporting me," he told me. "Starting with my loving husband and my amazing siblings!"
Picture
As a creator myself, I really enjoy hearing about their creative process. How they come up with ideas, what inspires them, how long it takes to bring visions to life, etc. Every creator's process is different, and hearing about it is like getting a glimpse into who they are! "Pageants influence a great deal of my work," Juan explained, "I have been watching Miss. Universe since as long as I can remember." After seeing his line of gowns that were shown at Fashion Week, I fully believe this! They were so elegant and stunning; it was very pageant-like!

Juan went on to say that another big influence comes from his brother. "My youngest sibling has a great vision in how he wants to be seen by the world, and I make it happen," Juan told me. Those maybe the two biggest influences for Juan but he finds inspiration in a plethora of other things like aromas, paintings, passed experiences, and textures.

Next Juan visualizes what he wants. "Ideas will pop into my head when I least expect it. Sometimes it is in a dream or a phrase I hear." What surprised me to hear is that Juan does not sketch! Well rarely anyway. "I hardly ever sketch; all the ideas are in my head." In my opinion that just makes his designs all that more impressive and personal. You're seeing/getting designs straight from Juan's own imagination. It hasn't been seen or altered by outside influences/opinions. It is a genuine, Jone-of-a-kind Juan Rivera piece!

So, how long did it take to bring his visions to life? "These last two lines; Galleria Dalia and Juan Jose Style took about three months," he explained, "we created about thirty-six looks." Unfortunately, due to things outside of his control, not all of designs made it to the runway.

That's okay Juan! I visualize us becoming good friends and one day having lunch and you'll show me all the never-before-seen looks! How's that sound? ;)
Picture
Picture
So, after all of the hard work it is finally showtime! I distinctly remember the first night Juan's designs hit the runway. After dedicating it to his mother and then the graceful show that followed, and then his joyous walk down the runway, Juan looked like he had tears in his eyes! I know I had tears in mine! The second night, the show had me up on my feet dancing and cheering on Juan! His walk down the runway that night was triumphant!

I had to know how those moments felt for him! "It was very exciting to see the line on the runway," he smiled, "It was a dream come true! My family and my country were so proud of me, it made me smile big!"

At the end of the day, most would agree that the show was a rousing success for Juan. But that does not mean it was not without its' fair share of hiccups. Even those did not get Juan down though. Instead, he turned those hiccups into learning experiences. "I learned that I can only control what's under my control. I learned to trust my instincts and to not let people push their agenda on me," he told me. Wise words! Those are things I still struggle with from time to time, so hearing that really spoke to me.
Picture
Currently Juan has two collections that will be showing next year. "Galleria Dalia will present some cocktail dresses," he says, "and Juan Jose Style is still in the creative process." I am already ready to mark my calendar for it! But what is Juan's ultimate dream? "The ultimate goal is the have shops full of my designs," he says, "and to make people smile when they wear our garments."

I feel certain this is a goal you are going to meet, Juan! I really loved seeing your designs at Fashion Week and I am so glad to have gotten to know you better for this post! I cannot wait to see more from you! You've got a friend in me! =)

If you want to see more from Juan, you can follow him on Instagram at Juanjosestyle!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did! =)

Autumn Days: Color blocking Crop and Distressed Denim...

Picture
Hey friends! Welcome back!

Just a quick post for today. I was a little rushed to get these pictures in before work picked up through the weekend, so, when in a crunch I go for some easy pieces!

This color block crop top is relatively new. I found it at Target a couple of weeks ago and actually it wasn't one of the things I was looking for -isn't that always the case at Target!? But I found it randomly, it had just been hung up somewhere (not the proper rack) and there was only one of it. This one. It was a large, and I wasn't sure how I would like it. I don't think I even tried it on, to be honest. I just decided I'd try it at home and bring it back if it didn't work.

The simple color blocking and the colors used make it really easy to style.

These distressed jeans are another easy piece to throw on when you're in a rush!

I especially like to pair them with a posh blazer and heels. But today was not that kind of day. So, I paired it with the crop and some comfortable H&M loafers.

It is still a fun, easy going look that has an air of playfulness to it, which is what counts at the end of the day. Style is supposed to be fun after all!
Picture
I am hoping to style this crop with some other pieces as well. I have an idea to style it with my cargo pants. I have a textured jacket I could use as it gets cooler. I am also on the lookout for some beige or red trousers maybe. Maybe even navy blue? If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you guys have a great week ahead! =)
