Hello, happy Monday, and Happy New Year!

As the year comes to a close I always like to reflect on it. Think back on what the year brought me. What challenges and opportunities I faced. This is year is no different. I have certainly faced some challenges -especially this last month! But I have also had some of the most incredible opportunities!

I have gotten to work with several photographers, several designers, and several boutiques. I was able to meet new people and friends, while strengthening some of my current friendships. I I was invited to Charlotte Fashion week and able to attend majority of it -which was incredible! I turned 30! (What!?!)  I have had to learn to leave toxic people alone, which is easier said than done.

I still have a ways to go, but I'm growing, learning, and excited for what the new year will hold!

For today's post, I just wanted to share a few of my favorite looks of the year! I hope you enjoy this look back!

Be safe out there tonight and have a great New Year!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Usually a lot of time and planning goes into my outfits, and that's no different with this one actually. Although this look is a lot more simple and ready-to-go. Sometimes you need those ready-to-go looks! They come in handy when you are running errands or in a hurry.

I love the colors of this outfit! The olive green jeans really add some life to the look. I have worn this top before with jeans and it looks good still, but the additional color really brings life to the look. Of course my favorite booties from Francesca's also keep this look casual but chic.

Of course a splash of orange to add some fun into the look!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO

The Post Snow Show....

Hello and Happy Monday!

It will be a quick post today! A lot to share, but also a lot I need to catch up on!

For today we will just focus on this particular post. As you may know, the east coast got hit by a snow storm. Well, my particular area didn't. We got a light dusting and some rain. But other places got a lot of snow!

So today was cold, but not unbearably cold. So I went with a lightly layered look. My favorite distressed jeans and a light jacket. I used the scarf for added warmth as well as a beautiful contrast against the green of the jacket.

It is a simple look, easy to pull off and very comfortable for everyday wear. That is probably what I love most about it. From running errands, to meetings, or lunch dates -it is versatile!

I hope you enjoy this post, and I cannot wait to share more with you in future posts! Stick around!

XOXO

Its a Creatively, Colorful Life...

Happy Monday!

One of my favorite quotes ever is from the late, great Tom Petty. "Most of the things I worry about, never happen anyway" Its such a simple quote and yet it packs such a punch. I can't tell you how many times I have to say that out loud to myself. I'm the worlds worst about worrying about crap that is probably is not all that serious to begin with.

For example, the last few days I have felt a little down and out about my blog. I love it, don't get me wrong. But sometimes I feel it is not going anywhere. Or I feel like I can't come up with new content that is interesting. I don't have anymore good ideas. I'm border line about to give up and I get a little creative break through. For me this break through was this look.

It is one of those outfits that has a lot of layers; literally and creatively.

Literally speaking, it has layers! Which is perfect -and necessary for NC winters. The skirt is relatively thin as is the tshirt I paired it with. The peacoat, scarf, and boots keep me VERY warm while it is cool in the early morning. But of course are easy to remove when it gets warmer later on in the day.

Creatively speaking, I got to play around with colors and textures. I tried not to stray too far from the same color families. For I love the warm auburn color of the skirt. That was actually the anchor of the outfit. It embraces the reddish scarf as well as the gold bag. But it also meshes perfectly with the purple in the coat. I love color and I love mixing colors!

I was really pleased with how this look came out! And I hope you will stick around for more exciting things to come!

Thanks for reading!!

XOXO
