One of my favorite quotes ever is from the late, great Tom Petty. "Most of the things I worry about, never happen anyway" Its such a simple quote and yet it packs such a punch. I can't tell you how many times I have to say that out loud to myself. I'm the worlds worst about worrying about crap that is probably is not all that serious to begin with.
For example, the last few days I have felt a little down and out about my blog. I love it, don't get me wrong. But sometimes I feel it is not going anywhere. Or I feel like I can't come up with new content that is interesting. I don't have anymore good ideas. I'm border line about to give up and I get a little creative break through. For me this break through was this look.
It is one of those outfits that has a lot of layers; literally and creatively.
Literally speaking, it has layers! Which is perfect -and necessary for NC winters. The skirt is relatively thin as is the tshirt I paired it with. The peacoat, scarf, and boots keep me VERY warm while it is cool in the early morning. But of course are easy to remove when it gets warmer later on in the day.
Creatively speaking, I got to play around with colors and textures. I tried not to stray too far from the same color families. For I love the warm auburn color of the skirt. That was actually the anchor of the outfit. It embraces the reddish scarf as well as the gold bag. But it also meshes perfectly with the purple in the coat. I love color and I love mixing colors!
I was really pleased with how this look came out! And I hope you will stick around for more exciting things to come!
Thanks for reading!!
