Happy Friday!

And what a gorgeous Friday it is! If you ever find yourself in situations like I do, sometimes dressing can be tricky.

This dress. This is one of my go-to looks! Its so simple, yet easy to dress up and/or down. Its light weight, so layering is easy! One of my favorite parts is the bag from Old Navy. It adds an unexpected touch, as well as that pop of color that I love so much, without taking away from the over all look.

What do you think? What are some of your go-to outfits? They are must haves sometimes and usually our favorite pieces. I'd love to hear about it!

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!!

Spring Fever:: Maxi Skirt and Styling Photo Story...

Hello and Happy (early) Birthday to my sister!! I love you so much!!

This past week has been a busy one! Today felt so nice out so I decided that called for a breezy maxi skirt and tank top. The thing I really love about this look is how the the maxi blows in the wind. Combined with the particular print of the skirt, it has such a whimsical effect. I paired it with a statement belt to cinch the waist a bit.

I am really excited to share a photo story with you. This past week I was lucky enough to be a part of another photo shoot with Don Porter Photography. I worked with Don a few months before on a shoot for designer, Minh Le, and was thrilled when he emailed me about another shoot. This time there were several designers; Aubrey Busek, House of Lemond, and Rick Owens. I was excited to work with Zach -the wardrobe stylist- again. He is a great person! Very easy to get along with, inspiring, and funny! The first shoot, I was a little nervous at first, not knowing what to expect, but this go-round I felt like we were old friends. He has a great, distinct eye for fashion. He knows exactly what look he is going for. And although its not necessarily mainstream fashion, its always stunning!

I got to work with and chat with designer, Aubrey Busek as well  during the course of the day. She is such a pleasure to work with! Not only are her designs gorgeous -and they really, really are!- but she is so pleasant, funny, and hard working. I was in awe of her designs -the white maxi dress in the pictures is by far my favorite piece!

One of the things I take away most from these shoots is the amount of time and effort that goes in to the pieces. There is so many intricate details to the pieces, I cannot imagine how much time and work is put in, but it pays off in every way possible with very stunning pieces.

Don was a pleasure as always, and dedicated to no end! Thank you so much for the opportunity, Don! I always love working with you!

I hope you enjoy, thanks so much for reading!!

XOXO

Happy first day of spring!

To celebrate, I wanted to create a look that embodied the essence of spring by pairing together two of my favorite pieces. First up, this textured skirt. I have restyled it many times and I love it every time! From its soft splashes of femininity and unique design, combined with the neutral color, it is easy to style.

Today I paired it with my bell-sleeved blouse from New York and Company, and an additional pop of color with the red Versona clutch.

Its' fun, feminine, and a perfect way to jump into Spring!

Thanks for reading!

Happy Monday!

I don't know what brought out the playful side of me -it doesn't go away much to be honest- but it certainly wasn't the weather! This weekend saw the most confusing weather in a long time! Sunday morning we woke up to snow, but by 3pm it had mostly melted away... Crazy!

When temps are cold, as they were today (plus it kept threatening to rain all day) I go for simple, easy looks. That is why I love this look. The Versona peplum top really speaks for itself. I fell in love the moment I saw it! But with a splash of color and throw polka dots in the picture and you have an ensemble that is full of fun and yet work appropriate and transitions easily.

And of course, the splash of color comes from my NewChic bag! Its stylish and lovely, as I have mentioned in previous posts, I LOVE this bag!

I hope you have a wonderful week and thank you for reading!

Happy Friday!

So, I know this ensemble is completely ridiculous as the temps will drop considerably this weekend -they are even calling for snow. Which is just crazy since today is well into the 70s! So I decided to take advantage of the warm weather for now and wear this.

I love this look! Granted, its one look that pictures do not really do it justice. I have really gotten in to the one-color look. Styling that way, can be very enjoyable. This look is so graceful and spring-like, plus it really plays with silhouette. I love -of course- the blush colored, trench vest and the way it drapes over the dress.

The statement necklace is a surprising element. I loved it from day one, but because it is such a statement piece, its challenging to style. But it seemed made for this look. There is a touch of gold in the dress and in the clutch, which compliment the necklace so well.

What do you think?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for reading! =)

Electric Monday Blues:: Detailed Nude Tones and Pops of Color...

Hello and Happy Monday to you all!

Today I wanted to kick the week off with a fun look. I recently found this sweater -and another for a total of $31- on Shein.com. I LOVE the choker collar style of this sweater. I may go back and get other colors as well, but for now, I'm loving this one! It goes with just about anything! Any colored jeans, skirts, shorts, and trousers.

That is why I chose this particular look. It was something a little different and fun. Plus there are subtle details that I love about both pieces -the sweater and the trousers. Of course the sweater is not quite as subtle, I love the design and the choker collar/cutout. But the trousers are fun as well. They have an eye-catching color which really accentuates the sweater. Plus, it has a little, leather stripe down the side -its hard to see in the pictures, and in actuality this look is better in person- but it really adds a little character to the piece.

Which is why I love this combo. They are different enough to work. The color of the trousers doesn't take away from the design of the sweater. But the subtle details are what I love. I always wonder, what was going through the designers mind at the time. It inspires me in many ways. I am a creative person, and these pieces just push my creativity. What inspires designers? What were they envisioning for the piece? Perhaps its overthinking, but -for me at least- it makes the journey more interesting!

I hope you enjoy! I cannot wait to show you more!

Hello all!

For today's post I wanted to keep things simple. I love pairing miss matched pieces. This peplum top and the distressed boyfriend jeans, for example. But what I really love most is how the dark colors really help the bag pop!

For those who have followed my blog, I love pops of color to really bring an outfit to life. This particular bag is so lovely! It gracefully goes from day to night and it comes in two other colors as well; electric blue (which I really love too) and black! Its the perfect night out or date night bag!

I found this on newchic.com, where I have found many great pieces -you can't beat the prices! Check them out!

Thanks so much for reading! And I hope you are having a great week so far! =)

XOXO
