It has been going on for as long as I can remember! Every Labor Day Weekend, Trade Street closes down and almost quite literally becomes alive with music, food, rides, games, crafts, small businesses -you name it!
It always signifies to me the beginning of the new school year, the beginning of the fall season! Ironically though, I rarely went growing up. I remember going a time or two and having fun. Then I got to the age where I was "too cool for school" in my mind. Then I just got too busy in general.
But this weekend I decided to relive my childhood and hit the festival! And it did not disappoint!
I met up with my friend, Fabian, and together we set out for a fun filled evening of fun, food, and people watching! We were actually on a mission to find a gift for his son's birthday the following day.
On the way, we stopped at this crab cake stand. Fab got the crab cake sandwich and I got the crab mac and cheese -my weakness! My word it is even better than regular mac and cheese!
Then we were off to the small business shops, which unfortunately were closing about the time we got to them. So, we failed at our mission. :(
That did not stop us from having fun though. We meandered around the park, people watching, watching the various rides, daring each other to get on a ride, and in general just goofing off.
We ended the night by listening to some live music. A Chicago cover band, followed by a Rolling Stones cover band (which was more up my alley!)
You could not have asked for better weather either! The night we went was cool, and I swear I felt a tiny bit of fall in the air!
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you guys had a great time this weekend whatever you did!
See you on Friday! =)
