I don't usually post on Tuesdays but my schedule has been a little odd this week so far. Partly because I have been fighting off a cold :( and partly because our internet has been out.
So, I am making up for it today! :)
This ensemble is a bold step for me for many different reasons. First of all I incorporated a number of different colors; fuchsia, turquoise, red, orange, gold -which sounds very busy but I kind of like it this go round.
In this ensemble, the taupe color of the vest helps downplay the boldness of some of the other colors like the fuchsia in the skirt and the turquoise in the shirt. The other colors are mainly dashes. The red in the belt and the gold in the clutch, they are only hints of additional color.
Secondly, patterns. I used leopard prints -in the shoes- and stripes. The orange and gold clutch -from Franchesca's- incorporates gold coin-like details that are not necessarily patterns, but it adds a bit of texture.
And thirdly, I experimented with textures. Because of the variety of colors, fabrics, and patterns -and the belt- this ensemble has a lot of texture, which is something that I typically do not consider much of the time when planning what to wear. But I do like the way it looks.
All three of these things are why I personally think this ensemble works. It is unique, fun, and perfect for this ever changing weather (which has been amazing so far this week!) I hope you like this, and feel free to let me know what you think! I cannot wait to share my future spring inspired posts with you! :)
