Also, Happy Birthday to my Dad!
This has been a hell of a year! I would say mostly good overall! There of course were ups and downs. But the downs were nothing like some in prior years. And the ups -man were they something special!
This was our first family trip in years! It was also a place I had been wanting to go to for a long time! I'm a big Fraiser fan and I have wanted to see the Space Needle for years! After conquering my anxiety about flying (it was my first time in a LOnG time) we had a great time sight-seeing and touring Seattle. Then my sis and I said goodbye to our parents, as they went on to an Alaskan cruise, and we spent a day in Seattle on our own! As good as it felt to get home, it was definitely a trip for the books!
This was probably the most magical night of my life -so far! I have been loving Queen Bey since the early days of Destiny's Child! As a grown woman now myself, and trying to turn this blog into a business, I am constantly in awe of her work ethic and professionalism. And of course, she put on one hell of a show! I danced my heart out all night and of course, shed a few tears of happiness! I have already seen the movie as well and it was equally as amazing!
Shortly after getting back from Seattle, to commemorate our experience, my sister and I decided to get tattoos. I had recently celebrated my first year of sobriety, so I went with a simple cross. I am not wildly religious, but getting sober has definitely helped me build a relationship with God which I had been neglecting for a long time.
I Got a New Car!
Man, I am so proud of myself for this one! I was having some issues with old car and finally decided to look for something else.
This experience was vastly different than when I got my old car. For one thing I actually wanted to get a new car and had money to put down on it.
My Dad accompanied me to the dealership and gave me some tips for how to negotiate with the salesman, but he really let me take the reigns on this purchase.
I negotiated the price and got it pretty damn close to what I wanted! (Especially considering what the salesman initially proposed!)
I Saw Santa!
For the first time since I was a kid!
I treated myself to the Holiday Light Spectacular earlier in December, and while I was there, I got to see the big man himself!
I like a kid all over again!
I sometimes still cannot believe I actually made it a full year sober! It has been such a journey! Sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes challenging. But I am so grateful to be sober and I am certain I would not have been able to have any of those other experiences if I were not sober. I am just taking everything one day at a time.
Thank you all so much for reading! And joining me on this journey! I really appreciate it! And I cannot wait to share more in the next year.
Please be safe!
And Happy New Year!
