Today I have a fun post for you: a thrifted maxi skirt with a sporty feel to it! But the fun part is how I came across this beauty!
I went to an event a week ago called Runway to Recovery. It was an event that kicked off a weekend of shopping through donated pieces and all of the proceeds went to help with the recovery efforts for Western NC. The night was a lot of fun! I went with my besties, Kiah and Vikee! Kiah was actually involved in the entire weekend, helping out with styling shoppers and sharing finds on social media, to encourage people to come out and shop.
She invited Vikee and me to the event. The night consisted of a fashion show consisting of pieces that would then be out of the sale floor for attendees to shop! There were tasty hor d'oeuvers, drinks (water in my case!), and a photobooth. After the show, we got to shop!
Of course, Vikee and Kiah were both really encouraging my find, suggesting ways to style it -which truth be told I was already thinking of myself!
They did not have to twist my arm too hard; I was pretty much sold on it from the get-go. My first idea was to style it this sporty style. I knew I wanted to pair the varsity jacket with it. I got lucky that we had a cold front come through, so I was not sweating to death while wearing this out and about!
I am going to a musical later this week, which I am planning to restyle this skirt for!
You better believe you will be seeing this baby on here in the future!
Special thanks to my friend, Kiah for inviting me to the Runway to Recovery event! I know it is a little late posting about it, but it was a great night! And for a great cause!
Have a great start to the week and I will see you guys again on Wednesday!
