I'm taking a break from my regular outfit of the day posts to share all about the CLT 54 event from this past Wednesday!
Held at the Mint Museum -which already has my heart- it was a huge celebration of fashion, art, and creativity! The theme was fashion through the decades, the 70's, 80's and 90's.
There were six designers showing, accompanied by four stylists and they really went above and beyond for each decades!
The 70's featured tons of color and texture, a pink fringe dress, and a two-toned, purple fringe top and balloon pants combo that I have been manifesting to show up in my closet! It was so beautiful!
There was also a floral printed jumpsuit, worn by a male model, but I would love to style it myself!
The 80's featured a lot of prints, fitted pieces, shoulder pads, and headpieces. Oh, did I mention there were a lot of fur stoles and coats!
And of course, the 90's was a lot of plaid, grunge looks!
During the 80's show, one model shimmied her way down the escalator, while another mimed smoking a cigarette, yet another threw her leg on the rail of the escalator to the crowds' amusement and delight!
I loved the shows, but I was also really in awe of all the style that attendees brought! Everyone leaned into the theme and interpreted it in their own way! I saw looks from all of the different decades! Some people really tapped into their creativity and went all the way with it. Others were more modest but no less stylish!
I actually had an entirely different look planned, but it... didn't work out. Long story. I'll tell it later. But last minuet I was searching through my closet for a different dress, and actually I think the one I found worked out better anyway!
Side note, I used a disco shaped water bottle as a bag for the night!
I caught up with my besties, Vikee and Kiah and we cut up and people watched for a good part of the night. On the main floor, people danced and mingled. Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves!
I'm so glad I made it to this event! I'm so glad it was held! And I am really hoping it becomes an annual event! I will go every single time!
