Happy Friday and belated Merry Christmas!

Also, Happy Hanukkah!

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday!

My Christmas was so full! I really enjoyed it! I got to spend the day with my family, including going to a Christmas Eve service the night before with the fam and even sharing my love of the Holiday Light Spectacular with my sister!

And the celebration will continue because my guy's birthday is next, followed by my Dad's!

This fit I actually shot before Christmas and nearly froze my butt off! But the way this fit has been in constant rotation this fall/winter. Well, variations of this look. The jeans and long-sleeved tee have stayed pretty much the same, but the coat has changed depending on how warm or cold it is.

I wore this out to a Christmas tree lighting early this month, as a matter of fact! I love that it is a comfortable, relaxed fit, but it also has a bit of versatility to it. Christmas shopping -or I guess now it's just regular shopping- to a lunch date, or ice skating (which I am planning to do soon and CANNOT WAIT!).

The coat was a thrifted find from a few years ago and as God as my witness, as long as it holds up and fits, I will keep it with me! It was such a great find! I have gotten such joy out of styling it over the years. The print feeds my soul! I love it particularly with this look. The way the print and the colors work together to create a free spirit kind of feel, is perfection.

And the wide legged jeans are one of my favorite style trends of the last year or two!

May they never go back out of style -or at least not for a while! They are comfortable and kind of give off a tomboy chic feel! Or that is how I have always felt.

This is one of my last pots of 2024! I cannot believe it!

I have some ideas for the new year that I am excited to share with you! There will be more content and videos, and I would also like to create more posts sharing different tips for things style related.

For the rest of this year, I will probably be working on ideas for next year! Trying to get them more concrete.

Thank you so much for reading and being on this journey with me -for 10 years now! Wow!

I'm so blessed and thankful!

Have a great weekend and stay safe!

Happy Holidays! A Thoughtful Look....

Hello all!

And early Merry Christmas!

Today's look is a fun one that I wore out to dinner with my bestie a week ago or so.

There are a lot of small details that come together that really pull this look together.

The core of this look is the juxtaposition of the delicate, feminine lace skirt verse the sportier, more casual button down/varsity jacket.

I actually tried a blazer with this look -which also looked nice- but the varsity jacket had a unique feel to it. I enjoyed how it kind of made the look a bit more casual. Dinner with my friend was a bit more on the casual side, and when I wore this I did not feel overdressed at all!

Now! For the small details! :D

Since, I already have the buttons on the jacket, I kind of leaned into the small eclectic accessories! I layered two charm necklaces, opted for my Karl Lagerfeld bag where the letters are all different colors, and a blue headband with red flowers throughout. I think those small, intricate details add such character to the overall look!

And for one more unexpected twist, the yellow kitten heels!

To be honest with you, I had planned to wear them from the initial conception of the look; the skirt, button down, and heels. Everything else was thought up later!

Overall, I LOVE this look! I think it suits my personality and preferred style! Quirky, stylish, colorful, thoughtfully put together!

I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's the beauty of styling -there is room for everyone's preferences!

Thank you so much for reading! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I will see you on Friday for a more casual look! Have a great holiday and stay safe!

The Most Sparkly Dress That I'll Be Wearing into the New Year!

Hello all!

Happy Holidays! I am in SUCH a festive mood today!

I found this cutesy spot in Ballantyne, the Bowl at Ballantyne, which I have been to before but never all decked out for Christmas! So, I hopped on the opportunity to take some Christmasy pictures....

IN THE MOST FESTIVE DRESS!
Picture

It has been a minuet since I have shopped with Shein, but this dress popped up on my feed and I just had to take a second look! I read reviews, looked at pictures, and took the plunge!

I was thrilled it got here early enough to wear to Christmas parties! Hell, I may re-wear it for New Years too!

But I love a good sparkle and shine look!

It was SO cold this morning though, so I had to bundle up a bit. Interestingly enough, I kind of love the look even more with this pretty, purple, peacoat! It flows so perfectly with the dress!

I also paired this silver, chain belt with it. My hope was that it would cinch my waist a bit. To be honest, I was not expecting to like it much, it was just something I decided to try on a whim! But wouldn't you know, I LOVED it!

I think it is just simple enough to not compete with the dress.

The dark base, the sparkles, and the simple accessories complete this festive, holiday look!

My Happy Place: Polka Dots and Tulle!

Listen, I don't say this in a bragging way, but I feel like my styles have been on FIRE lately!

I always style looks I enjoy, but there are some that really speak life into me, and this is one of them! The last one was too and the one coming up also is one of those! But this one... it incorporates so many of my favorite things!

Tulle!

Polka dots!

Pearls!

Silver heels!

A red lip!

I was also so pleased with how the sweater looks with this fit.

I have seen this trend many a time, but it was one of those that when I tried it I just felt like it looked off. The sweater did not seem to lay correctly, the sleeves did not stay tied... I always ended up ditching the idea.

This look was originally going to be the sweater and skirt styled together, but then the other day I saw this polka dot top at Target and scooped it up right away! I love styling polka dots! And right away I had several ideas for it. This was one of them! I still wanted to use the blue sweater though. So, I gave the tying-around-my-shoulders look another try. I still was not 100% sold on it right away. But I wanted to try it and get a few pictures, see how it looked on camera.

What do you know? It grew on me! I ended up loving how it looked!

This is something as a stylist, that I would encourage you guys out there, who want to experiment with your styles to do. Just keep trying things from time to time! If you want to step outside of your comfort zone but are kind of shy to do so, just try small things to start off with. A small pop of color with your purse or shoes, maybe a nice belt, a printed sweater, or even, a sweater over your shoulders! See how those small stylish choices make you feel. Some will work for you and others won't, but there is a sense of confidence in that!

Feel free to share if you do some of those small stylish choices and how you felt about it! I would love to hear!

Thank you so much for reading!

Lady in Red: And Mixing Gold and Silver Accessories!

12/12/2024

Hello all!

There is nothing I love more than a good color theme! (Or a theme in general!) But that was the styling logic behind today's look!

To be fair, it was planned around the varsity jacket. I wanted to pair it with my white jeans. From there it only seemed to make sense to pair it with a red turtleneck, The tights were a fun touch that completed the look! But I opted to stay within these two colors for a crisp, clean, bold look.

One area where I did experiment a bit with a trend I have been seeing lately, is combining gold and silver accessories. I have seen it mostly with jewelry and I am honestly not sure how I feel about it. I think this is where my OCD kicks in. I really feel it should be one or the other.

Unfortunately, I had styled this look completely -jewelry, belt, and shoes- when I went to look for a bag to go with it. My red Karl Lagerfeld bag was my first thought, but when I tried it, it felt like overkill with red already in heavy use. I wanted something small and simple. I do have a gold clutch, but that felt too fancy for this look. And I thought about a yellow, Steve Madden book bag. Its small and chic and would have accompanied the sport vibe. But I really did not want to bring in another color to this look.

(Okay, technically silver is also a color, BUT you guys get it right? It is a much softer color than yellow would be).

That is when the silver snakeskin beauty caught my eye. And the rest is history really, as you can see!

I feel like the gold and silver mixing was in a small amount and separated enough that you cannot really tell so much that I even mixed them. So, my OCD was kept at bay, and I tried something new! Maybe next time I will be a bit more eager to mix them more closely! Time will tell!

How do you guys feel about mixing gold and silver accessories? I honestly cannot exactly tell you what my hesitation is when it comes to it. I have seen others do it and it looks good! I think maybe there is just a science to it that I have not figured out how to do correctly. I will keep working on it though!

In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend! And I will see you all on Monday!

Stay safe!

Bundled Up and Cute Barrettes!

Hello again! Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Today I want to start things off on a casual note!

It has been COLD lately -as it should be in December!- but it doesn't often get and stay this cold here in the QC. So, I have been enjoying it. I will admit though, it can make styling a bit of a challenge. When it gets too cold -or hot- for that matter many people think they have to fore go being stylish in the name of comfort. I get it! And to be fair there is nothing wrong with a hoodie and sweats!

I opted for a more casual, stylish look that involved layers to combat the cold.

This tye dye sweatshirt is one of my all-time favorites. I have had it for several years now and typically I wear it mostly around the house. It was a thrifted find, but it is more fitted than a lot of my sweatshirt, which is why I felt it would work well with the look today.

Layered underneath my denim shacket, elevates it a bit and makes the look for more pulled together. I opted for deep red leggings -but really any color of leggings would do. If you are feeling really bold, printed leggings could be fun too! But I digress.

One of my favorite parts of this look are my use of barrettes! I recently ordered some on Amazon. It is a pack of the cutest barrettes! Some are pearls, some are different colored beads, some are more like fancy bobby pins with a pearl or bead on the end -you get the picture! But you can mix and match how you wear them! I wasted no time trying them out! I personally love them! I find them so endearing!

Now, I have to find a way to make them stay in place better than they did this day, but I feel certain Google can help me there!

Stay warm! And I will see you on Wednesday! =D

Tis the Season: Pops of Color Plus Sequins and Lace!

Hello!

Happy Friday! And Happy Holidays!

This is one of my favorite times of the year! I love Christmas decorations and lights and the chill in the air! And let me tell you, there has definitely been a CHILL! It has been downright cold the last few days! Not that I'm complaining! I love it -minus having to scrape frost off my windshield in the early mornings, but that is a minor inconvenience.
Picture

I am on a mission to take as many blog pictures with Christmas trees as possible this season!

This is the first!

This look, at first glance, might look relatively simple. But there is actually a bit going on! This Fashion Collective sequined skirt is a great piece! I love that it is a neutral color, because that makes styling it a bit easier! I opted to go for a monochromatic color base -beige/nude colors. The sequined skirt and a lace top. When I took these pictures, it was so cold, I did not take the coat or scarf off, but the lace on sequins pairing is lovely! Unexpected, but cute!

Then I accessorized with a chunky, plaid scarf and fuchsia booties!

I enjoy the fun twists both of those pieces bring to the look.

Of course, I did not at all match the tree! D:

There are several Christmas activities going on this weekend, starting tomorrow night. there is a Christmas tree lighting. I am thinking of wearing this to the event! We shall see!

Denim on Denim and Pink Accents!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Happy Holidays as well!

The holidays are in full swing, and I am beginning to really get in the spirit! In fact, I was driving home last night and past a string of trees all lite up! It was beautiful! I cannot wait to find some great Christmas lights or activities to do around the city!
Picture
This is a look that I shot a while back, so if you're wondering why I'm not wearing more when it is like 30 something degrees outside.... well, it wasn't that cold when I took these!

BUT! It is a look that I have been wanting to share for a bit! I love a great denim on denim look. I think that in itself is a statement! It is versatile and the ways to accessorize are limitless!

For this look, I decided to go minimal, mainly because I feel like this fuzzy bucket hat is a pretty decent focal point as well. It looks great against the denim! It also nicely compliments the small, pink, Bebe bag. I believe I mentioned previously that I met a lady, through my girl, Tameisha, who sells name brand bags for a discount price! I got the bag and the hat both from her. Her IG is @a.lee_12 if you are interested in checking her out! She also does some amazing nails!

I was also shooting some content for L'Occitane this day, hence the bag! I got a hair and body mist, that I LOVE It is a refreshing spritz after work, after workouts, before a date, or whenever you need a little refresher! Its light and it does the trick, at least in my opinion.

Thanks for reading! I will see you Wednesday!

Stay safe!
