Hello all!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all had a great day!

Today I am FULL! So, I am going very much for comfort in my styling! Cue this plaid maxi skirt! It has quickly made itself a home in my closet!

I styled it with a sporty yet chic long-sleeved tee from Pac Sun! This is a look that is great for out and about (shopping those Black Friday deals!) I think that is my favorite thing about it. You can wear it easily without looking overdressed.

On that same note, with just a few minor changes and it could be a dressy look just as easily!

It also is very fitting for this NC winter. Where it is chilly in the mornings but warmer during midday. I just threw a sporty varsity jacket overtop and was good to go!

Lace on Lace and Throw in some Plaid Please!

Hello everyone! Happy Monday!

Also, Happy Thanksgiving! Almost anyway!

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I LOVE this look, and I excited to be sharing it with you today!

I have become a big fan of sheer, lace skirts. They are a little bit sexy, but also very beautiful! This white lace has a very delicate feel to it.

For this look I opted to try lace on lace. I loved how commanding it looked, but it did look VERY bridal. I needed to add pieces to make it a bit more versatile.

Thus, the plaid blazer came into play. I prefer this one in particular because it has a bit of texture to it and between that and the plaid, it really makes the look interesting.

You guys know how I love these oversized flower pins! It even became a small talking point on the podcast I was on over the weekend! Pillow Talk with Katrice Wright!

I added a few points of interest to this look, so to keep it from being overwhelming I stuck to a simple color theme: pink and white. The other points of interest -the belt, the sparkles on the shoes, and the necklace- are minor enough to not overwhelm the look. In fact, they come together to really complete the look!

What do you guys think?!

I mentioned this on the podcast, but I like to add and add to looks. It can sometimes take time and a process of trial and error to get the look just right. But when a look like this comes together? It feels so good!

Thank you for reading! Have a great week! I hope you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

A Walk on the Wild Side...

Hello and Happy Friday!

This is a look that I have been planning for a while now! Since the moment I found and got this House of Jade Skye embellished tee, I knew I wanted to pair it with leopard print pants. I just knew it would be a great pairing -and it is!

The colors are similar enough to flow well together, and the green, furry trim pops against the darker hues.

I have also wanted to style this green coat and the green heels together as well and well, now seemed like good a time as any!

I loved the heels with the look right away! The coat gave me some pause because it is a little slightly different shade of green, and also, is it too much green?

Nah!

I decided to go for it because I like being a bit different with my fashion choices.

And while I was going hard with the bright pops of color, I decided to top the look off with a neon bag!

Layered a few necklaces for some interest! And what you have is an elevated, slightly eclectic, grunge look!

I love it, obviously! I think it is a creative look, a little outside the norm, but not wildly so. I felt confident wearing it and that is really what matters at the end of the day!

Thank you for reading! I will see you next week!

Have a great weekend! Stay safe!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

I had a great weekend! I hope you guys did as well!

But it got cold! I think this morning was in the upper 30's! Which means it is time to FINALLY break out the coats and jackets!

This denim trimmed, sherpa jacket is a great choice of coats to break out! It is toasty warm! I felt snug and warm the whole time I was shooting this look!

The denim trim is a big part of what sold me on it though. Its adorable! And oh, so charming!  I know I say this a lot but that small detail really adds a great deal of character to the overall jacket. And it allows room to play, style wise!

IThe fuzzy pink bucket hat was a surprise even to me! I cannot tell you what exactly made me decide to try it on with this look, but I did, and I LOVED it!

I think it is because it is such a playful piece. I never want my looks to be too serious, I love the playful, fun element in my styles. And I think the hat adds that to this look. Plus, it is a pop of color and you guys know I love my pop of color!

I met a lady, Ashea,, through a friend of mine. She had a story sale on IG where she was selling handbags, a lot of them designer bags, for a lower price. I found a Bebe bag I really liked and for a good price. When I got the bag, it also included the hat and a wallet! After double checking with her that those were intended to come with the bag, I allowed myself to become SO giddy! I could not wait to start styling it!

I already have another look in mind and am going to get to work shooting it tomorrow!

Thank you so much for reading!

Thank you, Ashea for the hat!

Stay safe and I will see you on Wednesday!

Hello guys!

Happy Friday!

Just a quick post for today, because I am worn out! It has been an odd week. I felt certain I was coming down with something on Tuesday. I had a headache, a sore throat, and that night I had the chills. I sipped on hot tea and took a Tylenol -something I'm not wild about doing, but I could shake the headache- and went to bed really early Tuesday night. Wednesday came and I felt almost like a new person! A little rough at first but once I got started, I was good to go!

Thursday, I felt almost completely back to normal. Odd right? I'm chalking it up to not getting enough rest over the weekend and my body was demanding that I rest.

Listen to your body, everyone! When it is tired, rest! Don't make yourself sick!

This look is one I shot a while back. We had a short cold spell, and I fully indulged in dressing in layers!

Of course, I am in NC, so it wasn't THAT cold, hence the lack of a jacket or coat. I have really been invested in denim and lace pairings, and thus it keeps popping up in my stylings. I really love the contrast between the two fabrics. It makes for a unique combination.

The real twist here is, of course, the red tights. My mom was not a fan. I like them though! Especially when paired with silver heels! It makes the look a bit more interesting! AND they kept my legs warm! Plus, I have had so much fun styling this pair of tights! I never would have imagined I would have used them as much as I have! They were worth every bit of the $10 I spent on them!

Thank you so much for reading! If you have not seen my latest vlog, head on over to check out the Queen City Awards! Its a fun one, I promise!

I'm gearing up for a few events this weekend, which I will be sharing with you! So, stay tuned!

See you guys on Monday! Have a great weekend!

Stay safe!

Update Maxi Skirt and the Rush for a New Pair of Shoes!

Hello and Happy Monday my friends!

Does this title intrigue you? I hope so! Shooting this look was an experience for sure! It is a look I have been sitting on for a bit while I was looking for decorative pins for this skirt.

You may remember the last time I style this skirt; I mentioned wanting to find some decorative pins to try to stich the slit closed a little without actually getting it altered. I was thinking the pins would make the skirt more interesting as well as add some texture. Well, after a long search, I finally found a pack of pins on Amazon! I ordered them and I am honestly so thrilled with them!

I do love how they look with the skirt! And I have a pretty decent selection of pins, so I can switch them out or pair them with other looks! Needless to say, I am very excited to find other ways and looks to pair them with!

Now, I have a mildly funny story about when I actually shot these pictures!

I had picked out red mules to wear with this look, to tie in with the red turtleneck. USUALLY, I always put the shoes on beforehand and make sure I like the whole look before I head out, but for some reason this time I figured the mules were the perfect choice. A shoe in, if you will!

I am so sorry for that! xD

I got to my shooting location and took a few pictures with the mules and,,, did not love them. Shocker, right? Well, I had my converses with me, so I decided to give them a shot too, because in reality I will wear them with this skirt a lot! So, I tried a few pictures with my converses. I still was not blown away with how they looked. It looked like too festive a look for casual footwear.

I hated to have to drive home to grab a new pair of shoes, so in desperation, I looked through my trunk. I happened to have some bags of items I was planning to donate to Goodwill and after some rummaging, I found a pair that I thought would work well!

While I certainly do like the way they look with this outfit, I figured out why I was giving them away pretty quickly.

They are not the comfiest of shoes, partly because they are slightly too big. I felt like I was squeezing my toes to keep the shoe on when I walked. But they served their purpose in this particular moment.

So, kids, don't make the mistake I made. Always make sure to check your entire outfit, including shoes and bag, before you leave the house!

Thank you so much for reading! I will see you Wednesday with an exciting video about my time at the Queen City Awards over the weekend!

Have a great week! Be safe!

Contrasting Fabrics: Oversized Denim Shacket, Lace Skirt...

Hello friends!

My mind has been all over the place this week. Like many others, maybe some of you guys reading this, I did not want to get out of bed on Wednesday. I desperately wanted to wake up and find out that it was a horrible dream. But, alas, it was not. I specifically did not make a video Wednesday to allow myself to just rest and process. I stayed off of social media and avoided the news. It has helped a little. I know it is not a long-term solution, but at least for now it is what I need.

Even today, I feel a little weird about posting, and I love sharing looks with you guys! I just don't feel 100 percent like myself today. I will get there, but it will take some time.

Today's look is kind of a reflection of my conflicting feelings.

It is two pieces you might not think would go together, but actually go great together! The contrast between the denim and the lace skirt is so bold and so beautiful.

I have been wanting to style the lace skirt for a while, but I needed to find a good slip to go underneath it. It took a bit to find, but I think I found one that works well. I have another look in mind, using this skirt. I will be sharing it with you soon enough. But when I woke up today, this was the first thing that spoke to me, so I went with it.

Then I paired it with some sparkly heels, because we could definitely use some sparkle right now!

And a pop of red to complete the look!

I don't really want to leave you on a low note. But I also don't have too much in the way of words of wisdom. The best I can do is say take care of yourselves. If you need to cry, cry! If you need a soak in the tub, soak! A walk in the park? Go for it. A lazy weekend? Indulge yourself.

I have been making mental gratitude lists. I am grateful I made it through the election completely sober. On election night, despite being a bundle of nerves, I had a really good night with my guy, seeing him perform! My family has been really supportive. My friends cheered me up a bit on Wednesday. Saturday I will get to go to an awards show to talk fashion and styling!

All we can really do is just take it one day at a time. I love you guys! Thanks for being on this journey with me and I would love to hear things you are grateful for or things that have made you happy in the last few days!

Thanks for reading! Have a safe weekend!

Sporty Spice: Varsity Jackets and Leopard Print!

Hello and Happy Monday everyone!

Today I have a fun look to share with you! Easily one of my favorites, that you can bet on me wearing on repeat this winter season!

I love this look so much! Mainly because its comfortable, but equally as important it is cute! And it allows me room to be creative when it comes to styling!

First, I LOVE the red against the leopard print. Granted, I probably would like any bright color with leopard print, but the red really seems to pop and flow perfectly with the varsity jacket. It creates a sport look that I love.

The accessories are what really bring this look to life today. I added a charm necklace and a few buttons/broaches to the jacket that work in unison to give it a fun, fresh, and unique vibe. And of course, a chain belt!

It is just a quick post for today because I am actually writing this Sunday night, in preparation for Monday, and I am BEAT! I'm towards the end of a long work week, and I am ready to crash!

Thank you so much for reading! Have a great start to the new week!

See you Wednesday!
