Hello and Happy Monday my friends!

Guess what?!

I have another fun look for you today! =D

This look I styled specifically for two occasions, the Lady Gaga concert a few weeks ago and Charlotte Fashion Week! For Lady Gaga I paired it with my converses instead of heels, because I fully believe in being comfortable! And while it was a bit more of a funkier vibe, it was still pretty stylish! It especially worked for a concert.

I also ended up not wearing it for Fashion Week because... I got the opportunity to work as an assistant stylist during Fashion Week! It has been such a pinch-me weekend! I worked with Elisha Cutter, designer of The Box Method, helping style the models, steam the garments, get the looks to the right models, help with speed changes, and set up and clean up at the end of the nights, and I loved it!

Elisha is not only a talented designer, but she is so gracious, professional, and kind! It was a joy and an honor to work with her, and I look forward to working with her in the future!

I will also share more on this in the next post; I just need time to edit pictures and organize my thoughts! xD

This is one of my favorite looks for a few reasons. I feel like each part of this outfit works to create a LOOK. Each piece is specific and needed to get the desired results.

I love the various shades of purple. I think that keeps it very fun and unique. The skirt is such a great piece! It has so much character! It is a great color, print, and the ruffles really elevate it! I can see this being a great piece going into the fall and winter. I am already envisioning it with boots and sweaters!

The best part? The skirt and shoes are both thrifted pieces! So, I probably spent $9 on them all together!

Thank you all for reading! I'm tired and heading to bed to prepare for the week ahead!

I love you guys! See you Wednesday!

Have a great week!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

And Happy Fashion Week, to all who celebrate! This week kicks off Charlotte Fashion Week, which is always a good time but I will be exhausted by the end of it! =D

I've had fun planning my fashion week looks as well! I have three down, and I just need one more to complete the week!

But, on to today's look!
Picture
Picture
This look is almost a completely thrifted look, minus the sweater and booties! The skirt, hat, and bag are all thrifted finds! (I have gotten really into thrifting lately, and I have found great pieces!)

I think this is such a great fall look. It is warm enough for cooler mornings, but cool enough for the warmer afternoons. And I really love the color combination. The baby blues and beiges really complement one another so beautifully!

The bag I became obsessed with! It is actually my mom's bag, and it's a Coach bag! It is the perfect amount of slouch; the belt detail is too cute! I was so impressed that my mom found it at a thrift shop! Go ahead, Mama!

The hat, I have a love/hate relationship with. It is so cute! And it completes this look perfectly! BUT it does not stay on my head that well. You may notice in most of these pictures I am holding on to it, that is because it does not stay on my head! I am a little bit bummed about that. I don't know how much wear I will get out of it. But I may look to see if there are ways to pin it, so that it stays a little better.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy! And have a great week ahead!

Chicago Round 2!

Hello all and Happy Friday!

What a week!

It began by flying back to Chicago with my sister to see the one and only, Lady Gaga!

While we were there, we explored the city a bit. I showed her two of my favorite places from my first time in Chicago. The Sky Deck, and The Bean! The Sky Deck was incredible as always! This time it was a beautiful, sunny day so it was arguably even more incredible than last time!

We grabbed a quick bite inside the Willis Tower before heading off to my favorite place, The Bean!

Upon exiting the Willis Tower, I instantly clocked a pedicab parked outside and convinced my sister into riding it to the Bean, much to her chagrin. We rode through the city, blasting Lady Gaga to get us in the spirit for the show! Our bike driver was nice, and we caught him shimmying a time or two on our trip.

The Bean was just as magical to me as it was the time before!

We found a hotdog/lemondade stand where we got a Chicago style hot dog. It was remarkable! Sweet relish, jalapenos, a pickle spear, mustard, onions (don't quote me on this, I may be incorrect on some of the toppings). But you know, it was really good! A very interesting combination of flavors but not bad! I would definitely try it again!

After a little bit of a rest, it was time for the show!

It was incredible! Almost hard to put into words! Gaga was at the top of her game the whole show! It was extremely theatrical. There were a lot of costume changes, set changes, and high energy performances! She performed almost all of the songs on the Mayhem album as well A LOT of her big hits throughout the years!

As excited as I was for the show, I was really happy for my sister. She's been a HUGE Gaga fan for years! She had gotten tickets to another concert years earlier and Gaga ended up breaking her hip and had to cancel. So, this was the next opportunity my sister has had to see her all these years later. And it was so wholesome to see her so happy and excited!

So, Roo (her nickname!) thanks for a great time in Chicago! I'll go back anytime!

The Graphic Tee So People Don't Have to Read my Mind...

Hey all! Happy Monday!

By the time you see this, I will be on my way to Chicago for the 2nd time to see Lady Gaga! I am excited, but also nervous as heck! (I'm a nervous flyer).

This is another look that was inspired by Copenhagen Fashion Week! It is kind of an eclectic mix of pieces.

I had in mind that I wanted a graphic tee over this lace skirt with the vest. But the trick was finding the RIGHT graphic tee.
Picture

I paired it with several t-shirts that I already owned but most of them are colorful, I felt for this look I really needed a mainly white t-shirt with it. I felt like the vest kind of got lost in the color of the t-shirt, and it all just looked... off. Messy even.

So, I kept my eyes open for a white graphic tee. I thrifted high and low and finally I found it!

This one is perfect! It says, 'Alot going on at the moment' and man does that ring true!

Aside from that though, it also is long enough to cover my bum! Plus, the vest pops perfectly and ties the look together!

The scarf also adds a nice, chic touch to it. A little additional pop of color!

I could easily wear this to an outdoor concert, or festival!

I'm just glad that I kept looking for the right tee! It definitely presented itself!

Thanks for reading! Have a great week ahead! Stay safe!

Mixing Prints and Fabrics for Fall!

Happy Friday!

I'm so excited for this look! This was actually inspired by a look from Copenhagen Fashion Week! I have been noticing the trend of styling silk, slip dresses over jeans and or trousers. It is very interesting to observe! And what makes it even more interesting is I have noticed different lengths being styled. Some people style midi-length slip dresses over pants, while others opt for shorter lengths.

I finally decided to dip my toe into this trend!

I found a camisole, nightgown of sorts and layered it under this distressed, striped sweater. Initially, I paired it with wide legged jeans but decided I wanted to up-the-ante a bit and switch to leopard printed pants.

I'm so glad I did!

I feel like the print pops! The red slip pops as well!

I went all out for this look! I opted for a few bold choices. Bright yellow kitten heels, my taxicab bag, the stripes against the leopard print! It was a look that I felt comfortable adding more and more!

I believe the slip kind of adds a softness to the look that is necessary. It breaks up the boldness of the two prints, which I think is what really sells the look.

What do you guys think?

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Borrowed From the Boys: Menswear Inspired Pieces!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am back with another fall look for you! This is a fun look in my opinion and a great one for transitioning into cooler temps. One style that I have really been playing around with over the summer is menswear inspired pieces. Longer shorts and jorts in particular. My problem? I have had some trouble finding the shorts in the longer style that I find cute. A lot of the pairs that I have seen are pretty boring.

Boring or more than I wanted to spend while just experimenting with this piece.

I finally explored the men's section at my local Goodwill and found two pairs of shorts that I liked enough to buy and style. One pair was a green pair, and these are the other pair!

In this look, I like the contrast between the dark blue denim and the lighter blue/white of the shorts. I think mixing heavier fabrics with lighter ones always makes for a dynamic look. It definitely catches the eye!

I tried to keep with this theme alive with the accessories as well. The bag -though it is a little hard to tell- has a heavy fabric to it, and a bold color/print, while the silver heels keep things on the lighter side.

I also appreciate how blue is still used in the print of the bag, while silver is used in the beaded belt! They are minor details but really add to the overall look.

The broach on the collar of my shacket, is actually an earring I think! I thrifted a bag recently, the same time I got these shorts actually, and once I got home, I went to style the bag and discovered it! I pinned it there momentarily, while I decided on what bag to style with this look, but ended up really liking how it looked! So, I left it!

I love a happy accident! =D

Thank you, guys, for reading! I hope you enjoyed this styling, and I hope you all have a great weekend!

Stay safe!
