Hello and Happy Monday!

I have been sitting on this look for a few weeks now! I have been patiently -sometimes not so patiently- waiting to share it! I LOVE this look so much! It is definitely going to be part of my fashion week looks!

It was sort of inspired by the conclusion of the Cowboy Carter tour, but if I'm being honest, largely inspired by the Copenhagen Fashion Week street styles!

I think I am going to film a video where I recreate some of my favorite Copenhagen looks, because I'm honestly still obsessed over those looks. Everyone really showed out for fashion week over there!

There was one look in particular that stood out to me. A lady paired cropped, plaid trousers with a boxy, denim jacket similar to mine -minus the print- and with a scarf tied around her waist. Initially, I wanted to recreate that look, so I began to go through my closet to see what I had that was similar.

My first thought was leopard print jeans with this denim jacket. I actually did like it the looks of it, but the problem was when I went to find a scarf to tie around my waist, I don't have a scarf that is a solid color. And I did not really want to add more print to the look.

So, I began to look around for other jeans, trousers, or skirts that might work. Thus, I came around these pearl-embellished jeans from Loft. I found I really loved how they looked with this printed jacket! The pearls are small enough and spaced out enough that they don't compete wildly with the star print

I still wanted to include a scarf, more so as a pop of color. But now I didn't want to tie it around my waist because I don't want to take away from the pearl embellishments. This is where I was inspired by Cowboy Carter! I decided to tie a small scarf around my neck, which I don't know that I have ever done!

This really gives this a classy, western feel!

When I shot this look, I realized it was a great fall look, so I decided to save it. But it has not been easy! When I went to edit the pictures, it grew on me more and more, to the point where now I am in love with it!

You can believe it will be on heavy rotation this fall! ;)

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a great week ahead!

Final Looks of Summer!

Hello and Happy Friday!

Today I am sharing my final look of the summer! And actually, I managed to sprinkle in a hint of fall! It is weird, usually I am so eager to move into fall! Cooler weather, fall fashion, fashion month! And I am still looking forward to all of that this year, but I am a bit wistful!

I really enjoyed this summer!

I heard the phrase, 'romanticize your summer' and ran with it! From Chicago to different events, to a trip to the lake, to nights spent roller skating, to seeing the Goo Goo Dolls live! It was truly magical! Sure, there was a breakup in there too, but honestly, I had more fun this summer single!
Picture

I want to take that same energy with me into the fall too. I already have gotten to work planning fashion week looks! I have some ideas for fall outfits and content. I have several events coming up starting this weekend, I am heading out to Matthews Alive! Its the yearly festival that celebrates Labor Day, but in my book, it also unofficially kicks-off fall!

But I do want to detail this look before this post gets wildly long!

This is another look I came up with while borrowing my Aunt's summery duster! I had been wanting to pair the strapless top and the silver jorts together for a bit, and I think the duster ties them together perfectly! I personally love the different shades of pink that I used in this look!

The whole look is giving festival vibes!

The belt and the bag are both thrifted pieces. That was another thing I got really interested in this summer, thrifting! I enjoyed going to thrifting markets with friends and family and finding treasures!

I am hoping to do a bit more of that in the fall!

Thank you so much for reading! And I hope you have a wonderful, long, weekend!

See you Monday!

Child of the 90's!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I have been looking forward to sharing this look with you guys for a while now! It is easily one of my favorites! I grew up in the 90's and I was a big Melissa Joan Hart fan -still am actually! I loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch, especially the early seasons where she is in high school. The styles in it are just peak 90's!

Clarissa Explains It All was another favorite of mine! And those two shoes are what come to mind when I styled this look.

It has some tomboyish charm to it, while also tapping into my creative side -for example the belt and necklace stacking.

But it is the quilted, crossbody and the checkered, brown/white top that really put in me in the mind of Clarissa and Sabrina. As I recall both characters carried crossbody bags often. And I distinctly remember a lot of plaid being worn in Sabrina.

Shows aside, I really love how the two pieces compliment each other. They are both equal parts stylish and comfortable.

We have several festivals coming up next month, and I think this is a perfect look for events like that! Its cool (temperature wise), stylish, you can hold all of your things and be hands free! And bonus points because you could easily switch the shoes and bag for heels and a clutch, for a night out!

Green with Envy! (and Pearls!)

Hello and Happy Friday my friends!

I hope everyone is doing well!

This styling is one I really love! I am thinking it will be one for this year's fashion week -which will soon be upon us!

I have always been a big fan of this emerald-green set! It is from Cider, and it has really paid itself off. I have had it for three years now and I have styled it several different ways. Both as a set and separately. This time, I used some fun pieces to create a fun, stylish look!
Picture
Picture
I had it in my mind that I wanted to create a look around the colors, green and white. Thankfully, I have this really cute white button down, with the feather-embellished sleeves, which really adds some character to this look!

The pearl necklaces are arguably my favorite part of this look. I think they pop beautifully against the green! And I love how one is straight pearls, while the other has some space in between the pearls. I love the length of them as well! I don't typically wear longer necklaces as often, but I like to have them on hand for when I want to change things up! The way it can improve or complete a look cannot be understated!

I also brought in a bag in a different shade of green, to shake things up a bit. It provides a nice contrast!

But you guys know me, you know I like a pop of color! You know I love a print! So, true to my nature, I added this orange printed head scarf to the mix! It pops perfectly against the rest of the look. It gives it a cool, casual feel. Like a fun aunt! It was also helpful! I need a haircut in the worst way! This scarf helped keep my hair out of my face and off of my neck -sort of. The only issue I tend to have is keeping it on! It tends to ride back on my head, until it falls off.

If anyone has any tips for how to fix that, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you for reading! Please have a great weekend and stay safe! =D

When Girly Girl Style Meets Tomboy Style!

Annnnnnd we are back!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I did! I got equal amounts of work done and rest in. Plus, we had a nice family dinner on Sunday. So, I am good! No complaints here!

We are also back to outfit-of-the-day content! I styled this look on the vlog, the most recent JORTS video. And I have worn it out and about a lot this last half of summer.

This is what happens when you mix girly girl style, with tomboy style, and I am here for it.

I have my girly girl, feminine moments definitely, and I also have a tomboy edge as well! Today, those two style personalities met!

The top was a thrifted find. I almost passed on it, but it had a hold on me. I like the color and the fit of it. I was not sure it would fit over my boobs, but, surprisingly, not only did it fit, but I have a cute, feminine bra that kind of peeks out just a tad and gives it the illusion of a bralette! It has potential to be very feminine! I'm imagining it with a pink slip dress, a tulle skirt. Or casual, like with jeans, or shorts.

Then there is this pairing: a stark contrast in the baggy, camo print, Bermuda shorts.

I got them last summer; I saw them on Pacsun's website and fell in love right away! They have always given Gwen Stefani circa the early 2000s!

It's the juxtaposition of the toughness of the camo against the softness of the top that I really love.
Picture

Picture
To soften the look a tad, I added some light jewelry: a chain belt stacked necklaces, and a few rings.

Of course, my beloved Asian printed bag was my choice for bag. It is a great combination of softness and toughness in itself! The satin material of the bag and print are both pretty soft and feminine, while the bold red stripe and bamboo handles are tough. Not to mention, it only looks small, but it actually holds a fair amount! Stay tuned for a 'what's in my bag!' xD

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! See you on Wednesday over on Youtube! =D

Copenhagen Fashion Week!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I'm taking a break -again- from my regular outfit of the day posting to talk about Copenhagen Fashion Week!

It is officially on my fashion/styling bucket list! I followed the runway shows pretty closely! I'll get into them as well, but I really was entranced by the street styles!

I took so many notes and a billion screen shots, and honestly it has had me at such a creative high!

We are about to dive into it, so buckle up!
Picture
Picture
The first thing I noticed was actually two things; one majority of the looks I saw were very modest! The styles were oversized, maxi length, or heavily layered. And even a few looks that did show some skin were not overt. The two pictures below are prime examples. And truth be told, I was a little surprised mainly because we are still in summer and as much as I loved the looks I saw, they looked like they would be hot to wear! Then again, Denmark maybe a bit cooler, who knows!

The other thing that stuck out to me, but did not surprise me really, was that prints were coming in strong! Specifically polka dots! I saw them in SO many looks! Big printed polka dots, smaller printed polka dots, sheer polka dots, mixing and matching black on white polka dots verses white on black polka dots. Sometimes the print was paired with tougher pieces like moto jackets, or thick boots. A lot of times the print was paired with trench coat for a very chic look! There were a few looks where the print was styled with a long graphic tee, or sweat shirt, even windbreaker jackets! I saw a wide variety of styling polka dots. Which to be honest, is becoming one of my more favorite prints to style! I still love leopard, but there is something very versatile and playful about polka dots!

Another trend I noticed was scarves! Beautiful printed scarves worn as neck pieces, headpieces, used as belts, or tied angularly around the waist. They were fashionably tied onto bags -I saw that a lot! So, naturally, I am now practicing with my scarves to recreate and restyle some of these looks. What I really love about this trend in particular, is that there are so many different scarves out there! From the varying prints, sizes, and textures, so several people could do the same style and it would still look different. Especially, when you take into account how the rest of the look is styled.

I noticed there was a lot pairing opposite pieces. For example, I saw a few looks where a lady would have micro shorts on but it would be paired with a bulky, oversized jacket. There were a lot of structured blazers and or sweaters over more delicate pieces like lace skirts. There were delicate pieces like the lace skirts paired with military boots.

There were a lot of menswear inspired pieces! Oversized blazers, full on suits, pinstripes, the longer, tailored shorts.

As far as footwear, there were a few surprises in my opinion. Of course, military boots are not going anywhere, nor are the stilettos, however, comfort does seem to be taking over! I noticed a lot of square-toed heels with the chunkier, block heels. I saw a lot of loafers, and -most surprising- flip flops were front and center!

I really appreciate that comfort was certainly on display this week, because there is no reason you cannot be stylish and comfortable!
Picture
At the risk of making this too long, I did want to share a few of the designers' lines that I really enjoyed!

Deadwood: This line put me in the mind of a fantasy. The looks were whimsical at times, involving earthy tones and a lot of draping. Odd note, all of the models walked barefoot for this line.

Nicklas Skovgaard: This line was very feminine and playful! It seemed to focus heavily on hems and full skirts and giving them lots of movement. It incorporated a lot of pastels and delicate fabrics like lace and silk.

Cecillie Bahnsen: This entire line was all white pieces. Very feminine, very soft/delicate. There were a lot of sheer pieces. I really enjoyed this one mainly because of how beautiful it was. Odd note, all of the models wore tennis shoes on the runway.

Marimekko: And finally, this was my favorite! Lots of color, lots of stripes in particular. It featured more ready-to-wear pieces like dresses, sets, and rompers. It was a pretty gender fluid line. And each pieces was styled with Adidas!

Thank you so much for reading! Have a great weekend! See you on Monday!

Clt 54: Fashion Through the Decades!

8/10/2025

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm taking a break from my regular outfit of the day posts to share all about the CLT 54 event from this past Wednesday!

Held at the Mint Museum -which already has my heart- it was a huge celebration of fashion, art, and creativity! The theme was fashion through the decades, the 70's, 80's and 90's.

There were six designers showing, accompanied by four stylists and they really went above and beyond for each decades!

The 70's featured tons of color and texture, a pink fringe dress, and a two-toned, purple fringe top and balloon pants combo that I have been manifesting to show up in my closet! It was so beautiful!

There was also a floral printed jumpsuit, worn by a male model, but I would love to style it myself!

The 80's featured a lot of prints, fitted pieces, shoulder pads, and headpieces. Oh, did I mention there were a lot of fur stoles and coats!

And of course, the 90's was a lot of plaid, grunge looks!

One really fun and unique thing about this fashion show is that the models came down an escalator, posing as they did, then made their way through the runway. As the night went on and they grew more comfortable, the poses became more interesting and fun!

During the 80's show, one model shimmied her way down the escalator, while another mimed smoking a cigarette, yet another threw her leg on the rail of the escalator to the crowds' amusement and delight!

I loved the shows, but I was also really in awe of all the style that attendees brought! Everyone leaned into the theme and interpreted it in their own way! I saw looks from all of the different decades! Some people really tapped into their creativity and went all the way with it. Others were more modest but no less stylish!

I actually had an entirely different look planned, but it... didn't work out. Long story. I'll tell it later. But last minuet I was searching through my closet for a different dress, and actually I think the one I found worked out better anyway!

Side note, I used a disco shaped water bottle as a bag for the night!

In between the shows, we were able to tour the museum, which was really nice.

I caught up with my besties, Vikee and Kiah and we cut up and people watched for a good part of the night. On the main floor, people danced and mingled. Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves!

I'm so glad I made it to this event! I'm so glad it was held! And I am really hoping it becomes an annual event! I will go every single time!

Clinging to Summer: Orange set, Embroidered Duster!

Hello all! And Happy Friday!

What a week! I have a really fun blog that I am going to share with you on Monday about my time Wednesday!

I'll give you a hint: it involves fashion from several different decades! =D

But for today I want to share with you this really beautiful look! In particular the embroidered duster! My aunt showed me a picture of it, and I LOVED it! So, she generously loaned it to me for some styling!

I had a few different ideas for it, and this is the first.

Picture
Picture
I really love the way the orange pops against the white. It makes for a really beautiful contrast!

The tricky part was finding a bag to match! That is when I decided on this blue bag that I thrifted a while back. The color really stood out to me. I paired it with this printed scarf that included all of the colors in the whole look! Which I think is what really was anchors this look.

Going back to the duster though, it really is a beautiful piece that embodies the essence of summer! The bell sleeves, the embroidered detailing around the cuffs and edges of the duster, even the color is summery! And you guys, this summer has been a really good one! I am finding that I am kind of sad that it's winding down. So, I am making the most out of these last few weeks of summer stylings!

Thank you so much for reading! Special thanks to my Aunt Sherry, for loaning me this duster! I have a few more styles up my sleeve for this one, so you will be seeing it again soon!

I hope you have a great weekend and stay safe!

I will be back with you on Monday! =D

Stripes and Hearts: A Comfy Set and Kitten Heels...

Hello all!

I am back at it! I think I have FINALLY got my camera/laptop/tripod situation figured out! Well, the laptop was never really the problem, but the other day I was trying to take pictures and the screw in my tripod that holds my camera on was basically worn down to nonexistence. I could not get my camera to stay on. I managed to get the piece that holds my phone on, to stay on so I just used my phone for the last post.

I got a new tripod, I have a new camera, I SHOULD be good for a bit! Fingers crossed!

On to today's look!

This cozy set has been saving my butt this summer! It is such a comfortable, breathable set and my summer uniform since the end of June! It is effortless! Easily one of those just throw-on-and-go looks, that can be easily accessorized for a more put together look.

This particular look has been in my head to style for a while. I don't know why, it just got pushed back a few times. Finally, one morning, I was having a hard time getting started and this look popped into my head. I put it together and loved how it looked and then began accessorizing! The yellow really pops against the blue of the set dynamically. I love it!

And for a whimsical touch, I mixed some prints as well. First the neon hearts in the bandana and also the Asian printed bag.
Picture

It was a comfortable look for the whole day! I was off to counseling, then I stopped and grabbed a matcha, I got some content in and finished the day with a Bible study!

My mom was not 100 percent on board with the bandana, but the rest of the look she liked! Yay!

Thank you, guys for reading and for bearing with me! I hope you had a great weekend!

I will see you on Wednesday! =D
