Hello all!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Today's post is another look at the Sprite sweatshirt I snagged from Target! One of my first outfit ideas for it was this pairing. These green trousers and yellow kitten heels. I liked the idea of a green and yellow color theme.

It turned out even better than I anticipated with the help of this chain belt, the necklace styling, AND this cute Sprite bottle! Yes, I actually got a Sprite for this shoot. Well, if I'm being honest, my mom got it for me. The crazy part? I don't drink Sprite! Well, not by itself. I like it with cranberry juice -which is what I made after this shoot. So, technically yes, it was a prop, but it also had a purpose!

Back to the necklace styling. I had a hard time with it at first. I wanted to layer a few necklaces, and thought about different charm necklaces, but I thought it maybe too much with the graphic on the shirt. My next idea was a simple gold necklace, and a longer necklace with a single pendant. Neither really showed up very well though.

So, on a whim, I tried the colorful choker styled necklace. It has green and yellow in it after all.

What do you know? I loved it! It popped really well and brought a tiny extra dose of character with it!

Also, please excuse this frizzy hair of mine! I don't know what to do about it! It is definitely better when I take a straight iron to it, which I didn't do this day, but even then, it still gets frizzy. But without it is definitely worse!

If any of you are hair styling gurus, help me! Please!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy it and I hope you have a great weekend ahead! =D

The Cutest Spring-Time Look!

Hello! And Happy Friday!

This is one of my all-time favorite looks! Who am I kidding? I say that a lot!

But I LOVE this look! I had a hunch for this exact styling when I saw this dress at Target. I figured I would get it and try it and if it did not work, I'd take the dress back. Well.... it worked!

The denim vest works so perfectly against the red! The color combination is dynamic!

Of course, the ruffles on the dress and the blue flower pin add a bit of interest and character to the look.

My goal was to make a really chic, spring, day look. And I think I nailed it! Of course, this dress can easily be turned into a sexy. sleek evening dress! But I wanted it to have multipurpose! I try to get the most out of my clothes, so if I can take a dress from day to night, that seems like a win to me!

Accessorizing was most fun to me! I

I have found a few inexpensive pieces that I have been enjoying! This multicolored choker for one! It really stands out with this look in particular. It came with a matching bracelet. So, I stacked that with some other bracelets and a watch, for a maximalism dream!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy the weekend ahead! See you on Monday!

Hello all! And Happy Monday!

I wanted to start this week off strong! And I decided to do that by sharing this power outfit with you!

This is my first time styling a tie! I have been seeing this pop up more and more on women and I am HERE for it! I just had to try it myself! I thrifted this cute tie from a local Goodwill and watched video after video of tutorials on how to tie a tie. It was finally a short from one of my biggest inspiration girlies, Chelsea as of Late, where I finally got it!

I wore this look out this past Thursday to see a musical, Kimberly Akimbo. The musical was great! And I was surprised with how much a liked it because I am typically not crazy about musicals. This one however, I would definitely recommend! It had me and one of my best friends, Kiah, laughing, crying, cheering, and dancing! It also took some unexpected turns that had us a bit shook!

But the overall message was making the most of your life!

There was one scene that stood out to me though! One of the friends that Kimberly makes is a snazzy dresser, but it is definitely different for a highschooler. In one scene, he is wearing suspenders and one of his friends makes a joke about his suspenders. Shortly afterwards, you see the guy discreetly starting to take off the suspenders, when Kimberly walks by and tells him that she thinks he should keep them on because she thinks they are cool. And he replies 'I do too!' while triumphantly snapping them back in place!

It is a short and somewhat insignificant in terms of the story, but I felt that moment greatly! I have been that character, who wanted to shy away in fear of what others would think. But then I found my people who encouraged my creativity and made me feel confident so now I dress in a way that really makes me happy!

Kimberly Akimbo is showing until next Sunday the 27th! If you're interested, I think you will really enjoy it!

Thank you for reading! I love you guys! See you on Wednesday!

A Beautiful Content Day!

Good morning and Happy Friday!

This spring look is a fun one! I went to Target -for the Kate Spade collaboration! And I left with a few pieces that I am excited to style! This dress and sweatshirt are two of the pieces.

Yes, this is a dress and not a tennis skirt, though I styled it as though it were a skirt. It is actually a studded, strapless dress! Which will be great going into summer!

But since we are still in early spring, the mornings are a bit cooler and crisper, thus the sweatshirt over top of the dress.

This combo is a fun, playful pairing, that is great for errands or day dates. It keeps you warm in the mornings, and in the afternoons, I can take the sweatshirt off and put it around my shoulders OR it is not a very heavy material, so I could just leave it on and be comfortable as well.

Styling wise, the options are limitless! The playfulness of the sweatshirt makes it easy to layer necklaces and switch out purses or tennis shoes! And as separate pieces, I already have several ideas for other ways to wear both of these pieces! The sweatshirt could be paired with regular denim or different prints, or even different colors! Think green or yellow pants! =D

(I can already see my mom cringing! lol!)

The content day itself was perfect! I could not have asked for more beautiful weather! It was a little tricky dodging people, since most schools are on their spring breaks, but I made do!

I will link the pieces below if you are interested in them!

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!

Thrifted Finds: Maxi Skirt with a Sporty Feel...

Happy Monday!

Today I have a fun post for you: a thrifted maxi skirt with a sporty feel to it! But the fun part is how I came across this beauty!

I went to an event a week ago called Runway to Recovery. It was an event that kicked off a weekend of shopping through donated pieces and all of the proceeds went to help with the recovery efforts for Western NC. The night was a lot of fun! I went with my besties, Kiah and Vikee! Kiah was actually involved in the entire weekend, helping out with styling shoppers and sharing finds on social media, to encourage people to come out and shop.

She invited Vikee and me to the event. The night consisted of a fashion show consisting of pieces that would then be out of the sale floor for attendees to shop! There were tasty hor d'oeuvers, drinks (water in my case!), and a photobooth. After the show, we got to shop!
Picture
From the moment I saw this skirt, I was drawn to it! It is definitely right up my ally as far as pieces go!

Of course, Vikee and Kiah were both really encouraging my find, suggesting ways to style it -which truth be told I was already thinking of myself!

They did not have to twist my arm too hard; I was pretty much sold on it from the get-go. My first idea was to style it this sporty style. I knew I wanted to pair the varsity jacket with it. I got lucky that we had a cold front come through, so I was not sweating to death while wearing this out and about!

I am going to a musical later this week, which I am planning to restyle this skirt for!

You better believe you will be seeing this baby on here in the future!

That is all for today! I thank you so much for reading!

Special thanks to my friend, Kiah for inviting me to the Runway to Recovery event! I know it is a little late posting about it, but it was a great night! And for a great cause!

Have a great start to the week and I will see you guys again on Wednesday!

90s Nostalgia: Denim on Denim on Denim...

Hello all! Happy Friday!

Today I want to end the work week on a causal note! And a look that drips with 90's nostalgia! This all denim look! It reminds me so much of a look I saw years ago on Sister, Sister! I loved their styles on that show so much! Especially when I catch episodes now as an adult and have come into my own styles, I can really appreciate the looks that I am sure have helped me shape my style!
Picture

I have worn a similar version of this look minus the t-shirt, but when I found this denim beret the look pretty much styled itself!

I did not really intend for it to have such a 90's vibe to it but I also kind of love it! The denim-on-denim base is comfortable and essentially a blank slate. There are a number of different ways this look could go. I opted for a more casual look because the day I shot this look; I had other errands to get to afterwards.

But from footwear, to accessories, to purses and hats, you can have such fun changing the look of this outfit!

Ruffles on Ruffles: My favorite Summer Dress!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

I hope you guys are doing well!

Today I am sharing with you a great, flirty, summery dress! I actually got it last summer and took these pictures last summer but for some reason, I never posted them. I honestly cannot remember why not. My best guess is that I usually take pictures on my actual camera and with the camera on my phone. I use the camera pictures for my blog and the phone pictures for my social media. And I think that the pictures on my phone must have not come out that great. Because I noticed that my phone only has maybe two pictures from this shoot.

So, I think I was planning to go back and reshoot this look with my phone so I would have pictures for social media and never did.

I am posting it now though! I have worn it a few times and love the way I feel in this dress!

It is so fun and flirty and oddly enough, comfortable! It doesn't fit snuggly, nor do I feel like I need to pull it up or down!

And oh, how it moves! It moves like a dream!

It sways dreamily when I walk or God forbid I spin! Insert the emoji with heart eyes here! This would be a great dress to go dancing in!

I have worn it on dates with my guy, to Fashion week this past fall, and most recently, to a fashion event this week!

Listen, being labeled an outfit repeater does not bother me! I will gladly repeat an outfit especially if its' this good!

You better believe you'll be seeing this dress again! I'm sure of it!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great week! See you on Wednesday!

Easy, Breezy: Restyling This Boho Jumpsuit!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am having a good time lately! I hope I don't jinx it but it I have been feeling really confident in myself and my styling and blogging! I feel full! I had a great night last night at a kick-off party for a shopping weekend where the proceeds go to Western NC. It was a fashion show, mixed with dinner and the opportunity to shop some of the curated pieces!

I caught up with my friends, Kiah (@ajourneyideserve) and Vikee (@designerdiva1103), who are so much fun! And the support among us is unreal! I feel so uplifted and supported with them!

The event itself was a lot of fun! We laughed, took pictures, celebrated fashion, and shopped! I found two pieces I really liked, a ruffled, maxi skirt and a silver belt bag of sorts. After some deliberation though, I decided the skirt was the only piece that I really felt I could not part with! And so, the skirt was secured!

And I already have ideas for it! =D
Picture
But today's look is what we are focusing on today!

I got this boho jumpsuit and a similar halter jumpsuit both last summer and they are extremely comfortable! I love how easy they are to wear -arguably that is my favorite part of them. I have paired this one in particular with I denim jacket, a sweatshirt, and now a t-shirt!

This look was actually inspired by another creator, Tiara Jones, a Boston creator! She styled a similar look but with denim pieces and a graphic t-shirt. I really loved how it looked, so I wanted to recreate it but put my own spin on it!

Of course, I added a layered, chain belt and straw bag. I love a good straw bag, you guys!
