Screaming Sequins: Thrifted Finds!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I had such a fun time with this shoot! Not only is the look itself really fun, but actually taking the pictures ended up being a blast!

I found the area I wanted to shoot at that was relatively quiet and out of the way but also had a lot of aesthetic that I tend to like. As soon as I pulled up, I spied an abandoned shopping cart! Immediately the gears in my head began turning with ideas! I ended up using it in my shoot and had a great time! And I think it shows in the pictures. They also turned out really well if I do say so myself!

The outfit is a bit of an oddball combination at first glance. I'll admit it. But there is a method to my madness! As I mentioned in my Styling Sequined Pants video, I think it is the blue in the look that really ties everything together. It kind of balances out the other colors.

The sequined pants -joggers to be exact- and the quilted vest are both thrifted finds. I had not been thrifting in FOREVER mainly because the last time or two I went, I don't remember having much luck. That, and Goodwill got rid of their dressing rooms. But I had the urge to go the other day, and I had some luck! I found both of these pieces, plus a pair of leggings, a shirt, and a picture frame.

The sequined joggers were an immediate yes! The vest gave me some pause, I am not even sure why. But I love the color and the blue trim, and it seemed like a solid styling piece, so I decided to get it. And I am so glad I did! I have already worn it many times, and many different ways! It has easily found a home in my closet!

Thank you, guys, so much for reading and being here with me! I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed styling and shooting it!

I will see you again on Wednesday! Have a great week ahead!

Bringing Back the Fuzzy Hat!

Happy Friday everyone!

This beautiful weather has had me in such great spirits lately! The longer days, the sunsets, the trees in bloom! It all is making me so happy! Albeit a bit congested! Lol.

However, there is still a bit of chill in the air in the mornings, so, when dressing, I have to be mindful of that.
Picture
Which brings us to today's look!

This is by far one of the easier outfits to wear out and about. It includes all of the things that I love in a look, while still being comfortable and effortless.

Let us begin with leopard print. It is one of my all time favorite prints to style. Mainly, because -in my opinion- is one of the easier prints to style. It goes with just about every color and it can be dressed up or down with ease.

I opted to pair it with this 'frenchie' sweater. This sweater has become a beloved piece in my closet! I have had so much fun styling it! It has also been my go-to on lower key days that called for distressed denim and a chain belt. Hell, I have even worn it with a pair of sweats and my converses at least once on a coffee run!

And of course, the fuzzy bucket hat!

Man, when I got this hat, I had no idea how much I would end up loving it! Now, I think that if anything ever happened to it, I would have to burn Utica to the ground. (It's a line from The Office!)

I love styling this hat so much though, honestly! It exudes personality! It has done so with every look I have paired it with, but certainly it takes this look to the next level!

Shout out to my friend, Ashea [email protected]_12 for it! I know you probably had no idea how beloved this hat would become to me! I really thank you for it!

Thank you all for reading! I wish you a wonderful and safe weekend!

See you on Monday! =D

Roam and Dwell: A One of a Kind Boutique!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I have a fun post to share with you today! And the best part? It is going to be a bit of a series of posts! (At least that is the hope!)

I had the pleasure of meeting with Angel, one of the owners of the boutique Roam and Dwell. He and his wife, Deanna own the boutique and offer incredible personalized services! The boutique itself is a mixture of women's fashion, art, and even home decor! All of these things are one-of=a-kind pieces. In fact, Angel told me that the only time he has ever seen two people wearing the same piece that they got at Roam and Dwell, is when it was an event hosted by Roam and Dwell!

I have seen Roam and Dwell pieces at various events and fashion shows and even went to an event held at the boutique at its' previous location back in fall. So, my love for the boutique has been growing over time, only increased by the fact that Deanna and Angel are two of the kindest people! They are both very easy to talk to, encouraging, knowledgeable, and full of ideas.

My plan is to do some styling in their posts and sharing them with you in future posts! Angel, offered to let me do a styling session that day, which got the creative juices flowing! I found this incredibly soft, one-size-fits-all pull over sweater, which matched my dress perfectly! I added this beautiful, embellished, chain heart belt. You guys know how I love chain belts! But this one really popped with this look!

It helped cinch the waist a bit with the sweater, which is a bit on the baggier side.

It was a wonderful experience! I am looking forward to going back for a day of content! This impromptu styling session/shoot gave me a chance to get some ideas going for outfits to style!

Ohh! By the way, the belt came home with me! You'll probably be seeing it in another upcoming post! ;D

I highly recommend Roam and Dwell! It is more just than a boutique, it is an experience! Deanna and Angel are wonderful and will make you feel so comfortable and at home!

I'm so grateful for this opportunity! Thank you so much!

And thank you guys for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post!

Positively Giddy! With Pops of Pink!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I had a lot of fun shooting this post! My guy actually helped with this look! I sent him a picture of it, I did not have the bag at the time. Just the pink stockings. He liked it and suggested another subtle touch of pink. Which I fully agreed with! The problem? I didn't have a pink bag! So, I began searching for one! I searched vigorously for about a week, before I found this one.

It is so petite! I love it! And would you believe, I found it at a Goodwill!

It was in great condition! So, I scooped it up right away. I did clean it up a little bit, but I did not have to do too much!

I was feeling really confident this day! I knew I wanted to shoot this look, and where I wanted to shoot at! And I even played around with a few different poses.

They turned out alright! I think the more I do them, the better and more natural they will look. At least that's my hope!

This look began with my desire to mix the polka dots and the plaid skirt. I paired them together and just kept building from there. I wanted the silver accents and the pink pops of color. I tried to keep the accessories a bit more minimal this go round, so as not to over-do. But also, because I have noticed I don't have that much silver jewelry. It is mostly gold.

I guess I need to keep my eyes open for more silver jewelry pieces!

Hello all!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend!

Today's look is another look that broaches the spring season without fully committing. Or another way to look at it, it plays with the juxtaposition of pairing a delicate piece with a darker, more rugged pieces.

That sounds better! =D

This is one of my favorite styling techniques. It always makes for a unique look! And it most of the time encapsulates my ever-changing mood!

I added pops of neon green -for St. Patrick's day- and yellow just for some added interest! And because if I get pinched today, so help me God... lol!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Slip Dress for Spring! Plus Mixing Prints!

Hello all! Happy Friday!

Today I have another look that is kind of in between a winter look and a spring look. The colors and booties are definitely more on the wintery side. But the layering and slip dress are better suited for spring! Or at least the transition into spring!
Picture
Picture
This look actually began with ripped, black jeans, a red beret, and converse sneakers. I really liked that look as well. But I'm going to be real with you guys, when I went to shoot this look, it was that time of month, and I felt bloated as hell!

So, the jeans were not happening.

Thus, the slip dress entered the chat! and saved this shoot!

The oversized blazer also helped save the day as well! I felt comfortable -well as comfortable as ya can be during that time of month!- and stylish!

Of course, the blooming trees also really helped my mood and inspiration greatly!

Quick funny story! I've been trying to incorporate new poses into my shoots, so I look online for inspiration. I've seen a lot of models and content creators kneeling and stretching out a leg. So, naturally, I have decided to attempt that too.

Bad idea!

Well, truthfully, it has turned out well a few times, but this day it did not!

I got a few pictures that just did not take well. I wasn't ready when the camera took the picture, mainly. But one time I really thought I had it! Right after the camera took the picture, I toppled over backwards! Lord. I felt foolish. I'm sure I looked a bit foolish. I'm sure someone got a good laugh. I hope so anyway!

Good news, I sort of got a good picture! It is the middle picture of this blog!

Thank you for reading! I hope you have a great weekend!

A Denim Dream: Plus Pops of Yellow, Pink, and Red!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope you guys are well!

So, I have a few more winter-ish looks for you before I completely transition to Spring looks. This is one of them! I love this look! I mean you really cannot go wrong with a denim on denim look. And I appreciate the different shades of denim as well, that kind of differentiates between the outfit and the outer wear.
Picture

Always the one for color and fun elements, I paired it with these yellow tights and fuzzy bucket hat!

You guys probably remember this look from my Yellow Tights video and Content Creating video, so this post might feel like overkill. But I disagree!

It is too fun not to share! Plus, it is a great look for the transition from winter to spring. Where it is kind of chilly in the morning, and then warmer in the afternoon.

The other fun element to this look, is this eye bag from America and Beyond! I was drawn to the print and the colors used in the bag. The eye print is unusual and -to be honest- quirky! I think the print was enough for me to give it a second look, but the dynamic colors are what sold me!

Thank you for reading! I appreciate you! Have a great week!

Plaid Fridays: Plaid Trousers, Knit Pullover...

Hello all!

Well, we are back to cooler weather -as per usual for NC Springs. I'm okay with it though. Mainly because I know summer will be HOT. So, I will enjoy this cool weather for as long as it lasts.

Plus, it gives me a chance to break in these plaid trousers! These are so soft and warm! It almost felt like wearing pajama pants, that is how comfy they were! I decided to lean into the comfy look with Adidas, a blue turtleneck, and a knitted pullover.
Picture

The knitted pullover was unplanned.

I was actually planning on a denim vest, and decided I did not like it as much as I thought I would. (I think I would like it better without the turtleneck, but obv it is too cold for that yet.) Then my eyes fell on the pullover.

I liked the way it looked and -bonus- it was an extra layer of warmth!

Funny story about the pullover. I got it a while back from Shein, I think. But when I ordered it, I thought I was ordering something else. A skirt or shorts, I think. I had clicked on the link, not paying close enough attention, and thought the link was for the skirt or shorts, and the knitted top was just how they'd styled the model.

I purchased it, thinking I was getting a skirt/shorts. I was surprised and pretty confused when I got the knitted pullover and not the skirt/shorts.

I cannot remember why I did not just return it, it has been a while now. But I am kind of glad I did not! I have grown to love this little pullover! I think though, next time I wear it, I am going to add some broaches and pins to it. I think that would spruce it up a bit!

What do you guys think?

Have you guys got any plans this weekend? I have a bit of a lowkey weekend, but next week is going to be busy! I think I have events all three days! I'm looking forward to it!

Have a safe weekend! See you on Monday!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

I am feeling much better today and enjoyed a restful and beautiful weekend! I hope you all did as well!

I am ready to get back at it this week though. That was one thing that was hard about taking the weekend to rest. I felt like getting out and doing things, I did do a little on Sunday, but it wore me out quick!

So, instead of trying to push through, I just allowed myself to rest.

This look I was so excited to shoot and am equally excited to share with you today!

I'm eagerly awaiting Spring! The days are already getting longer, and trees and flowers are beginning to bloom! It is so exciting! This look perfectly encapsulates my excitement!

I LOVE all of the bright, beautiful colors used here. In particular this skirt is a work of art! It is a woven, floral printed midi skirt that is perfect for spring!

I paired it with my color block, graphic sweater, with a Frenchie pup on it.

I tried it on a whim and ended up really loving how playful it turned out!

And finally, I was really excited about this location as well. I knew I wanted to go there because it is very scenic. The fountain is one of my all-time favorite places to shoot at! And it turned out even better than I imagined, with the trees in full bloom! It really just added to my excitement!

Eeek! I cannot wait to style this skirt more as we move into spring! Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend ahead!
