Experimenting with Many Colors...

Hello! Happy Tuesday?!

I don't usually post on Tuesdays but my schedule has been a little odd this week so far. Partly because I have been fighting off a cold :( and partly because our internet has been out.

So, I am making up for it today! :)

This ensemble is a bold step for me for many different reasons. First of all I incorporated a number of different colors; fuchsia, turquoise, red, orange, gold -which sounds very busy but I kind of like it this go round.

In this ensemble, the taupe color of the vest helps downplay the boldness of some of the other colors like the fuchsia in the skirt and the turquoise in the shirt. The other colors are mainly dashes. The red in the belt and the gold in the clutch, they are only hints of additional color.

Secondly, patterns. I used leopard prints -in the shoes- and stripes. The orange and gold clutch -from Franchesca's- incorporates gold coin-like details that are not necessarily patterns, but it adds a bit of texture.

And thirdly, I experimented with textures. Because of the variety of colors, fabrics, and patterns -and the belt- this ensemble has a lot of texture, which is something that I typically do not consider much of the time when planning what to wear. But I do like the way it looks.

All three of these things are why I personally think this ensemble works. It is unique, fun, and perfect for this ever changing weather (which has been amazing so far this week!) I hope you like this, and feel free to let me know what you think! I cannot wait to share my future spring inspired posts with you! :)

Thanks for reading!

Hello! TGIF!

This week the weather has been teasing me, so I am teasing it right back by breaking out my shorts once again.

Today I paired them with a printed top and a tweed jacket which I have restyled before.

I carried a Versona clutch, which I have used before as well!

Sorry to make this one short, but I am currently posting from a Starbucks and I am not sure how much longer my battery will last! :D

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!

Feeling like Spring in Cobalt Blue...

Hello to everyone!

Already half way through the week and I am yearning for spring time terribly!

Which is what inspired this ensemble today. I realize I am possibly jumping the gun a little but I can't help it! This midi-skirt is a trend I have been dying to try for sometime now.

This particular skirt, from the K TOO brand at Burlington Coat Factory, I have been eyeing for a few weeks and it finally, finally went on sale! Cobalt blue is one of my all time favorite colors. It is crisp and bold but refreshing at the same time. The cut outs along the bottom are a unique, eye-catching detail.

The American Dream crop top -also from Burlington- is a bit lower key, letting the skirt be the center piece. I decided to keep other colors and jewelry minimal so they did not compete with the skirt.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day! :)

Bubble Shorts and Floral Peplum Top...

Happy Monday!

Today the coolest thing happened to me! I was at work and I randomly found this fortune from a fortune cookie. I have no idea how long it had been there but the fortune said; there is a way to everything you want.

It made me feel so happy. And the weather today was beautiful! Mid 60's and sunny. I love it!

So for today's post I decided to go with an ensemble that made me feel like spring.

The pastel bubble shorts -Forever 21- are a favorite of mine. They are quirky, fun, and unique. I paired them today with a Mossimo peplum top. The colors are refreshing after months of dark colors, rain, and winter.

The white jacket -Target- I added for fun and for just a little layer of warmth!

Speaking of the white jacket, I love the way the ruffles of the jacket and the peplum top create a cool shape. It gives my frame a little extra shape.

This ensemble has a unique feel to me in color, texture, and shape. All of which I personally love.

I cannot wait to show you more of my spring ensembles!

Thanks for reading! And have a great day! :)

Pencil Skirt and Crop Top...

Happy Sunday!

I felt the need to ditch the beret, it did not seem to be my best look. Its okay, live and learn right?

But I'm back now and better for it. Today I decided to go for a black and white color pallet. But I wanted to mix things up a bit. For this post I mixed patterns.

This -for me- is one of those power outfits I have talked about. I feel amazing and unstoppable in this ensemble. I love the way the pattern in the tweed meshes with the striped skirt. The design of the jacket also gives the ensemble a little more shape.

For me, this is an example of how fashion is so fun and amazing. I tried this on with my hopes not very high and ended up loving the result. Even with out the jacket -which I included pictures of- I feel unstoppable, powerful, and feminine.

Do any of you guys have power outfits? I know you do! I know there are ensembles you are tempted try but have some reservations. I challenge you to wear them! Submit them if you want! I would love to see them. But  ultimately go with your gut. If you like it when you put it on go with it. See what happens!
;)

Be brave! :) And good luck! And cheers to those of you who do it!

Thanks for reading, as always! :)
