Hello and Happy Friday!

I love this look that I'm sharing today! Can we normalize tooting our own horns when we feel like we have been killing it lately? Because I feel like I have been killing it lately!

I am really proud of myself! I feel like I have been putting together some FITS lately!

I have been very intentional and mindful in putting together looks that I like or that reflect my personality, that are uniquely different, and that utilizes mostly pieces I already own.

This look is reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour -of sorts.

One of my favorite parts of this look is how I layered the lace turtleneck underneath the dress.

I had the idea to do it on a whim and I loved how it came out! It is a unique way to restyle this dress, which I had previously only worn in spring in summer -now I can wear it year-round! Also, changing the turtleneck to one of a different color or print, also will open up the styling possibilities!

I wore this look out to a networking event recently, hosted by Make An Impact Events! It was a great evening, my bestie Vikee and I accidentally twined with match berets! And the venue it was held at is actually a studio with a lot of sets, displays, and green screens. We got to take pictures on some of the sets, which you will see if you follow me on IG!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy! And I wish you all a safe weekend ahead!

Rainy Day Pick Me Ups!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

I hope everyone is doing well!

When I took these pictures, it had been a string of rainy or cloudy days in a row and that tends to mess with me. It is hard for me to get going, I just want to lay about and be lazy. And a day of that here and there is healthy, but too many I do not like!

Anyway, I picked myself up and put together today's look and forced myself out to shoot. As luck would have it, I found the PERFECT place to shoot with this fun pink wall and at the top a GORGOUS floral piece! I am not sure how to describe it, there is just a bunch of flowers -some even hanging flowers- that line the top of this pink wall!

As it turns out, this place is called Sip and Dips, and I think it sells different drinks and desserts. I have actually never been in, but as I was taking pictures for this look, I thought a cute one would be of me looking at their menu. I ended up ACTUALLY reading their menu and my word! They have some of the most delicious looking options! It looks like cookies on the menu but sounds like ice cream flavors. Anyway, I'll be stopping in soon and I'll report back!

This look though, is such a fun one! I have a few events coming up that I may wear it to! Valentine's day for sure! And there are a bunch of Galentine's events coming up as well!

It encompasses all of my favorite things like mixing prints (bonus points because I got polka dots in the look twice!), dashes of silver, and my beloved giant flower! This time it is much more feminine and flirtier as opposed to my last look, for example, which I'd describe as in-you-face-playful. xD

Sadly, I think I am going to have to retire these paper bag shorts soon. They are beginning to pucker and flake terribly! It's a shame because they have become such a staple in my closet! I've had them for years and styled them countless times! They've gone to numerous fashion shows with me! I am going to keep my eyes open for a new pair that is just as good as these!

I'll keep you posted!

Thank you so much for reading and following along! I will see you on Wednesday!

Stay safe!

Hello all!

Happy Friday!

Just a quick post for today! I want to share with you one of my boldest and most fun looks to date! It encompasses everything I love! Lots of color, mixing prints, layered necklaces, and a chain belt!

I know I talk about how sometimes it takes me time to plan looks and piece them together or tweak things here and there to get the look -but this is not the case with this look.

This look I pretty much knew right away how I wanted to style it, and it came together perfectly! This dress is easily one of my favorites! It suits my personality perfectly and really cute just as is. But once I add a few extra touches it and voila! It is perfection!

You probably saw it in the last post, but it is the exact look I wore to the circus later the same evening! It was a great choice! With all of the color and sparkle of the circus performers, I felt right on theme! Interestingly enough, several kiddos told me they liked the look! That warmed my heart! =D

Thank you so much for reading!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you back here on Monday! Stay safe!

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Hello all!

I have a special post for you today! As you may know, I went to the circus over the weekend! The Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey's present The Greatest Show on Earth! I was so excited, and it did not disappoint!

It was only made better because I went with one of my best friends! We love going to shows like this together, we always laugh, pick fun at each other, get really hyped during the different acts, sometimes have honest conversations on the way back, but above all else we really make an experience of it!

We started as soon as we arrived, eagerly wandering around Spectrum center to look at all of the vendors and restaurants options. We indulged in true circus food: cotton candy -which was SO strange! I get why kids love it and as an adult I did not hate it, but I wouldn't say I loved it either. We got hot dogs -Fabian was obsessed with these hot dogs!- and those giant pretzels!

I was determined to find a small pamphlet or some kind of memento that I could use for my journal. I told Fabian this and while on our mission for food, he came across this giant booklet that covers every single act in the show! We flipped through it while waiting for it to begin and learned some interesting things about the performers and the acts.

Once we got settled with our food, booklet, waters, and crazy hat, it was time for the show to begin!

From the very start it grabbed the crowd's attention by getting the crowd involved! Followed by a dazzling musical number and pyrotechnics!

The fashion/styling part of me never shuts off, not even at the circus, because I was so entranced by the costumes worn throughout the show. The main singer wore a sparkling, multicolored, fitted blazer with some textured black pants. Another guy wore some electric blue pants that I need in my closet straight away!

One of my favorite costumes in particular was during a rendition of Rihanna's 'Diamond' song, two Ariel artists were performing a beautiful routine in white, sparkling body suits. That really embodied the essence of that song. It gives me chills even thinking back to it now!

Picture

The performances themselves were unreal! The trapeze artists flew through the air. catching onto one another. The tight rope walkers walked across the ropes with each other on their shoulders. While other acts saw women being launched onto the air and landing atop a human ladder, four people high! And they all moved with such fluidity and grace! Meanwhile, I was on the edge of my seat praying I would not see anyone fall that day! -I did not by the way!

And these are just some of the acts! It was two hours of people defying gravity and showing how incredible the human body really is!

Of course, it was also fun to see the kids in the audience watch the show. To hear them laugh at the comic relief moments in between acts, to hear them cheer on one of the main characters as he attempted to ride the world's tallest unicycle. I found myself doing those same things! I think I may have recaptured some of my own childhood that night!

And honestly that is part of the beauty of the show in my opinion. Getting to forget the real world for two hours and be silly, have fun, and allow yourself to be in the moment, because it truly is the greatest show on earth!

Leopards, Lace, and Red Tights Oh My!

Hello all and Happy Friday!

I hope you are all doing well!

Today's look is a walk on the wild side -quite literally! And it was created with the help of one of my blogging besties (and besties in general) Vikee, or Designerdiva!
Picture
Picture
It started when I was filming for my vlog, 5 Ways to Style.... and the last look I was a little on the fence about. I was pretty sure I liked it, but I wanted to have a second set of eyes tell me either 'yasss queen!' or 'are you drinking again!? What is this!?' You know, just friends supporting friends! Vikee asked to see the skirt with the tiger blazer. When she asked, I was already showered and in bed, so that is why you see the other blazer in the video.

But I did want to try the tiger blazer with the skirt, so the next morning I got up and tried it. I sent her the picture and she loved it! I loved it! And now here we are!

The conception of the look began when I wanted to wear the red tights underneath the lace skirt, to get some color coming through. I definitely love how the skirt looks with the tights! It is a great look for the holidays -I wish I had thought of it then!

The blazer adds a bit of fun because it involves one of my favorite styling techniques, mixing prints!

Mixing prints is a fun and relatively easy way to really breath life into your outfits. It can be a little daunting, so if you are new to styling or have not played around with mixing prints. It might feel like, "why would you mix those two together?" "Or those don't match!' Well, yeah, that's the point! But it does sometimes take some unlearning of what you had previously learned about styling.

Its' complicated, I know! Stick with me though! I won't steer you in the wrong direction!

Thank you for reading! And I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I will see you on Monday!

Hello all!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! And are ready for the week ahead! I think I am!

I am actually really looking forward to this week! It should be a pretty easy week and on Friday I am going to the circus! Eeek! I am so excited for it! Don't worry, I will be sharing all about it on here!

I actually went to the Cirque de Soliel last year about this time and it was really great! It was fascinating to watch the acrobatics in particular! This time it is The Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey, they also put on an incredible show -so I have heard!

On to today's look! I am confusing my poor mom with this gigantic flower again! I am not sure if she is a fan of it or not but wait until she finds out that I want to cover the blazer with more flowers -all of differing sizes! xD (I am only sort of kidding about that!)

I love it all of the same! It has brought so much life and joy to this blazer! It is the exact touch it needed in my opinion.

I decided to lean into this icy/snowy weather by playing with icy themed colors; silver and blue! I guess they may not necessarily be icy colors, but that is what came to mind when I was prepping this post.

These metallic shorts I found at GAP on sale, for $25! It was too good a deal to pass up, so I jumped on it! I love the feel and look of them, though I will say it does kind of feel weird to be posting shorts after just having a "snowstorm." It is such a chic look though!

Structured, crisp, clean, and yet still a bit playful!

I have a few predictions for styles in this new year, and one of them is I believe long shorts are here to stay for a bit! Which personally I am glad for. It gives you more options for styling and can create a range of different looks. Already I am planning for a more casual restyle of these jorts!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy this styling!

Have a great week!

Casually Dressed Up: Denim and Pearls!

Hello! Happy Friday my friends!

And brrrrr rabbit -as my grandma used to say!

It is COLD out there! And it was COLD the day I took these pictures! It was kind of a good news/bad news situation. The bitter temps did make it easier to avoid people out and about while taking these pictures, but it was... well, cold! But I sucked it up and got it done! Thankfully the sun being out did make a world of difference!

This has to be a favorite combo of mine! Denim on denim -but with a fun twist! Pearls!

These cute, embellished jeans from LOFT were an easy yes in my book! I love the feminine energy that it brings to the look! It is soft yet the denim is strong! It also breaks up the monotony of the denim on denim look.

Bonus points because the thickness of the denim shacket helped me stay warm!

I of course added a bright bag -my beloved new Kate Spade bag!- to give it a more playful look!

Please stay safe out there and warm. If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness currently, A Roof Above (for men) and The Salvation Army (for women and families expanded their capacity for the inclement weather. Also, CATS buses are offering free rides through the weekend. You just need to tell them which shelter.

I love you guys! Be safe!

I will see you on Monday!

A Colorblock Story: Kate Spade + Ox Knit Graphic Sweater!

Hello and Happy Monday good people!

This is a look that I have been planning for a bit! It is one of those visions that came to mind, and I was able to pull off perfectly! -I love it when that happens!

It is simple in style but packs a punch! A colorful punch mind you! =)
Picture

It is also a fun play with color blocking!

Both the Kate Spade bag and the Ox Knit sweater are color blocked. The bag uses shades of blue and green, and the sweater is pink, and the sleeves are red, with the cuffs being beige.

The whole look is playful, but the sweater is especially fun! The cute puppy graphic is adorable and has a retro feel to it. I found it on a site called OxKnit (I will link it below!) and they have a bunch of sweaters similar in style! In fact, there were a few that caught my eye, but I particularly liked the colors and picture used in this one.

The bag was a splurge that I made on myself for Christmas.

Listen guys, I don't typically spend a lot of money on purses or clothing, at least not on one particular piece. I am pretty frugal when it comes to spending. I look for sales, budget -that kind of thing. But I LOVED the look of this bag! The colors, the arch handle, the color blocking. I already had ideas for styling it. But the price is what held me back.

I figured I would wait until after Christmas was over and I would come back to see how I felt about the bag. Thankfully I did, because it went on sale! I still sat on it, because it was still a lot more than I tend to spend on things. But a few days later I went ahead and did the deed!

And I have no regrets! =D

Overall, I think this is a solid look! I have a few events coming up that I may be wearing this too! Granted I may switch my Addidas out for heels possibly. But for a day of errands, picture taking, and dinner with the family, I like this look a lot!

I have several things coming up this month that I am excited to share with you! I also am considering changing things up a bit on here! I kind of mentioned how I like to shop earlier, I was thinking of sharing more of my shopping tricks and techniques with you. I want to write more about the events I attend. Nothing wild and crazy, I will still have my outfit of the day posts primarily. I just want to sprinkle a few other things in as well.

What do you think? Is there anything you'd like to hear about in particular? I am open to ideas!

Thank you so much for reading! And I wish you a wonderful start to the week!

Sweater: OnKnit
Bag: Kate Spade (the color I have seems to be currently sold out, but this is the black version and there is also a darker blue version!)

Spending the New Year in Tiger Print and Lace!

Hello and Happy New Year!

I always have a mix of emotions about the start of the new year. Mostly positive and optimistic but there is also a bit of sadness and apprehension. Not a lot but some. It usually takes a few days for me to get back to feeling normal. This year, thankfully, I had more optimism and less apprehension. I spent New Year's Day styling different looks, taking the pictures, and later on I went on a walk.
Picture
Picture
To start off 2025 I wanted to go with a chic yet feisty look. So, I turned to an oversized, boyfriend style, blazer from one of my favorite sites, Dressed in Lala! I have mentioned this site before. It has a collection of fun, bright, and bold clothing and it definitely has a hold on me. It is a little on the pricier side, so I really look for sales or pieces that I cannot stop thinking about and then set some money aside for it.

This blazer was one piece that went on sale, and I scooped it up!

I do not have many -or any- tiger print pieces, so I am excited to add this to my closet. I am actually currently working on a styling video of five ways to style this blazer, so I know I will get a lot of use out of it. (If you are new here, that is one of my rules, if you cannot find three ways to wear something, return it!)

That video should be up next Wednesday! So, be on the lookout for it!

The lace skirt adds a nice luxurious touch to the look. I wore black tights with it, which I typically do not. I feel like it elevates the overall look as opposed to a bare leg, which is what I was going for with this look.

I actually think it has kind of a fun, 80's kind of feel to it that I enjoy.

**************

Going forward, I really want to start putting the groundwork into an actual styling business. I have worked as a stylist on several photoshoots, which I would like to continue doing. But I also want to help style women (and men, but I am not AS familiar with men's clothing) whether it be sprucing up your closets or helping you find a perfect fit for a special occasion! I also would like to work with boutiques, helping them with styling content and curation.

These are a few of my aspirations for the new year! I would love to hear some of yours as well!

I will keep you guys posted as far as my styling services go, once I have some more concrete plans.

Thank you for reading and being on this journey with me!
